Actually, the latest StepMania doesn't work for me. It tries to start up, but after it changes the screen display, the display changes back and I get a crash report. Ah well, 3.9 works perfectly well for me right now.
I played 'double' mode (one person, two mats) for the first time in school today. I kinda like being able to move more. I also like how the song-to-step syncers designed the songs to work well with the human tendency to alternate between the left leg and the right one. *makes mental note to do that in her stepfiles*

That's really odd. You may want to try asking on the stepmania.com boards to see if anyone can help you out. By the way, Omni, is there any place I can download your stepfiles?

Actually, I was about to ask if we were going to share our StepFiles here. Right now I've only got one stepfile that's even relatively done. I've only done steps for 'single' mode so far, and those are are easy (three feet), medium (five feet), and a 'hard' difficulty where the only difference between it and the 'medium' difficulty is one little part at the end. But you can play the work-in-progress version that I just uploaded. It's called Hexidecimal Genome by Bit Shifter.Edit: The download link has been changed to the most recent version of the stepfile. The 'medium' difficulty can now be played more easily. The 'hard' difficulty is still pretty confusing though.

I'll download it. My whole website is at freewebs.com/wd62 (Use FFR links so you don't have to register.) And attention Stepmania fans who have been around since forever (at least since the dawn of 3.95): nDDRo is back. www.stepmania.com/boards/viewtopic.php?p=19579#19579

I tried playing stepmania on my computer a few months ago, and had it crash a few times. turns out i need an updated video card...which i already knew, as there are so many things which slow my computer down. either need to update or get a whole new computer. knowing me, i'm probably going for the computer. One of the very first showings of DDR which really drew me to it was a video of Nugget & JimTheFly Dancing to Candy (the non vocal one apparently). it made me realize DDR could be filled with fun.

I just found this movie of a one-legged person playing DDR. (Aparrently a lot of people have downloaded and uploaded the same movie. >_>) I also like this guy's freestyle DDRing: Movie 1 Movie 2

Kiku-Thanks for the two freestyle vids. I've seen the one legged man, but I get nauseous if I look at him. Jacob-If you have that problem, you may just want to check with The Stepmania.com Forums-Crash Problems Board really quickly to assure your suspicions.

Now, I'm attempting to finish U in Crazy Mode. Very hard, though. I couldn't manage to get the beat in those fast steps.

I can pass Perfect Crazy. But you'll probably pass me since there's really nowhere for me to play Pump anymore. XD

Okay, I've tweeked the Hexidecimal Genome StepFile. The 'medium' level has been re-designed so that you can play without tripping over your own feet... well, a few of the steps might still be a little confusing, but they're kinda meant to be. I've left the 'hard' mode that same for now, so if you want to play with the old 'medium' steps, you can use that. You can download it here. I've also changed my other post so you can download it there.

I hope i can get the courage and tools to do it though. *smiles at prospects*

I got AAA!
...It was in one of those Stellar Master, Showdown drills where there was only 1 arrow and you had to get it perfect, but still, a AAA! >_>
Well, I've been playing the 'Stellar Master' mode and I think it's fun. It give you a few reasons to play DDR other than just to dance, get a workout, and/or have fun.
I also noticed that I was getting 'A's more frequently and I was able to play more songs consecutively without tiring, so I tried a few 6-foot songs. I discovered that I can move that fast for that long, but the timing and placement of the footing confuses me. I can manage simpler songs, but I'll still need to practice if I want to get those 6-footers easily.

Omni-I finally got around to playing Hexidecimal Genome and I liked it a lot! It felt very great, even if the hard steps were more like medium (but I understand, only step what you're familiar with), but they were still excellent. I didn't like that the song was 3 minutes long, so I'd recommend a good dose of Audacity. Also, where was the background? The banner was great and I'm looking to see what else you can do! Also, I'm trying to get to Pizza Box in Stellar Master Mode. It requires getting 100%s on all the other Stellar Joints. However, I thought you could get to PB by just getting a 100 on The Last, but I got a 123% and still nothing. XD That's when I realized... Oh, I use a controller on Stellar Master Mode/Dance Master Mode from Extreme 2, but pad on Mission Mode (THE BEST OF THEM ALL [Buy Extreme just for Mission Mode]) from Extreme. [/babble]

Yeah, that's what I was going for: step patters that just, felt, good. And I also don't really like how it's long, takes long to dance through, takes FOREVER to stepfile, and StepMania make you take up TWO stages to play it. Audacity looks like the sound-editing program that I've been looking for for years! I mean, I have other programs that can edit sound, but they don't let you actually see what you're editing! (among other things) *plays with* I'll see if I can get another stepfile up soon.
