I just started really recently playing Stepmania, on the computer. I tried only about twice with a normal pad and all (not on the computer) and I pretty much gave up hope.. >__> And I find it more fun like this, anyway. Anyway, I'm doing mostly on Standard, now.. got almost all of the songs I've been playing up to AA in Light, except for like.. two of them, which are really hard. Standard is suddenly a lot easier than what it seemed once, though. xD Does anyone else here play the SM version on their computer?

I don't know if there's anyone here who plays StepMania off of their computer. In other words: yes. I'm one of them

Omni-I finally got around to playing Hexidecimal Genome and I liked it a lot! It felt very great, even if the hard steps were more like medium (but I understand, only step what you're familiar with), but they were still excellent. I didn't like that the song was 3 minutes long, so I'd recommend a good dose of Audacity. Also, where was the background? The banner was great and I'm looking to see what else you can do! Also, I'm trying to get to Pizza Box in Stellar Master Mode. It requires getting 100%s on all the other Stellar Joints. However, I thought you could get to PB by just getting a 100 on The Last, but I got a 123% and still nothing. XD That's when I realized... Oh, I use a controller on Stellar Master Mode/Dance Master Mode from Extreme 2, but pad on Mission Mode (THE BEST OF THEM ALL [Buy Extreme just for Mission Mode]) from Extreme. [/babble] "Audacity"...hmmm it sounds like a very interesting program. may need to check it out in the future. Anyone ever heard of M.A.D.D.R. (Mankinf Against Dance dance Revolution)? Read about it here to find out, and enjoy.

I'd like to announce that Hexadecimal Genome is no longer three minutes long. ...It is now two minutes long. But still, it's 33% shorter. I haven't adjusted my stepfile to match just yet, but you should see an update in the near future.

Hey Bag? I tried downloading one of your stepfiles just now. For some reason, I can't get the file to decompress. The StepMania site says that it's supposed to "be extracted to the Desktop automatically when the transfer is finished", and it doesn't. And Stuffit Expander keeps telling me that the file doesn't even seem to be compressed or encoded. (I even tried changing the extention) Do you have any files available in a standard compression format?

Did you drag the simfile to the Stepmania Tools & Package exporter? It'll unzip it for you there.
But if not, register with Bemanistyle.com, and I have stepfiles there (under UncleQ too [I'm assuming you downloaded from FFR])

Stepmania Tools & Package exporter isn't available for Mac, so no. Yes I downloaded under FFR. I actually played the song while on the FFR site, but every time I hit the up button or down button the window would scroll in that direction.

Oh, then yes, you have to download them from Bemanistyle because Macs don't support .smzips. Bemanistyle has .zip files.
And by the way, in Resonance, you have to click the scren 5 million times for it to stay still. That happens to me all the time.

I thought I'd give y'all an update on how the cut version of Hexadecimal Genome is coming along: I've now split the 'medium' steps into two separate difficulties, medium and hard. (in case you didn't notice, those two difficulties were almost exactly identical before) I still need to make a few more steps for the 'hard' mode... it still has a place that's an exact repeat of an earlier part. When I'm done with that, I think I'll do the same thing with the 'easy' mode and put some of those steps into 'beginner'.
I've also cut another song that I'm working on to 2 min. I'll get that one up sometime after finishing Hexadecimal Genome, and maybe another song.

Okay, I was wrong. I haven't made any steps for the beginer difficulty, and I haven't tweeked the hard difficulty yet. But here it still is, unfinished, but cut and danceable: Hexadecimal genome

I tried downloading StepMania 4 to my most up-to-date copmuter. Guess what? It opens without crashing! I like the general appearance of the game, it's very diferent. One big upside is that the game actually check my graphics card, or something, so it can use any monitor setting that my computer can use! I haven't tried it just yet, but I'd like to see what it looks like full-screen without any black areas on the screen. My main complaint right now is that the game crashes when I try to connect to SMonline. Like many other users, it crashes when I enter my password. I've posted a message on the forum about this, and asked if it's possible to connect to a specific computer. I hope they fix this problem soon... I wanna dance with one of you guys, someday! My smonline account name is the same as the one I have here: omniscia Hay Bag? Is your smonline account name 'Chicky'? I think I found you while browsing the player info.

Yes, my name is Chicky, but I don't know how to connect to SMO. XD I didn't even register for it. But I guess since I'm on the stepmania.com boards, I'm on there.
