Well, since there's surprisingly a lot of players on the NTWF (but not quite as addicted as me lolzlolzlolz), I decided to make a general discussion thread for all dance games (originally all rhythm ones, but I decided no), like Dance Dance Revolution, Pump It Up, Stepmania/Dance With Intensity, aaaand I think something else but I don't know. So, discuss away!

Well, I'm relatively new to all this, but I'm addicted to Stepmania already. XD Here's a question I'm going to throw out there; can anyone do a stepfile for the song "Life" by E-type? Because I'm clueless about that still... xD; www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbgbs2L7q_8 - it's the song I used for this AMV. I know it's pretty long. ^^;

Ahh, DDR. I don't play very much these days, but I'm thinking of maybe, maybe getting a Cobalt Flux? The metal pad. Perhaps during the summertime so I can get back into it while I'm at home.
I'm not too terrible. I think I'm progressing relatively quickly for the amount of time that I play. My PA is good. Like, I'll miss some arrows, but if I do get an arrow, it's almost guaranteed that it's a Perfect. It'll just take a bit of practice. I'm at about low Heavy (Or Expert, is that what it's called now?). I suppose I could pass upper footer songs, but I prefer to play well on my own skill level. My friend got me into it, he's just.. amazing. A basically flawless player.

Nina-I want to be flawless too but I play for fun, not for perfects. I'm close to AAAing Wonderland though. Elcie-do you have an mp3? I've actually really wanted to make a stepfile for that song. And you're welcome for the addiction. ^_^ Did you download any of my stuff?

I'm nowhere near being close to perfect. Just stating that I know someone who is amazing at it, naturally.

Whenever you see someone not as good, you like to give them tips as to how to improve their skills. That probably gets annoying after a while. And Elcie, thanks. And sorry, I'm just obsessed with getting people to download my files. XD

Ah yes, DDR and all of its wanna-bes. Very fun. It's been awhile since I played, I think I'll pull out one of my pads and dance a few songs after posting this.
Personally, I don't think I'd actually be able to give a less-advanced player tips, to me it's just a matter of listening to the song and getting into the rhythem. I'm one of those people that can tell what kind of rhythem a song has (4/4 3/4 etc.) just by listening to it, I can feel the beat... Anyone know what I mean?
Do you think we should make a DDR club board? Bag would be the president, naturally.

But that's off topic *flees* Nina - that'd be a great idea

Actually, I think we could just move this to clubs. :\ I thought it'd be more general, but since there's only a group of us who play it, it'd be better as a club. Oh, and have you played Holic? The time signature of that song not only changes, but it's so amazingly strange. And you can never tell when it changes either.

I don't have any USB pads, but maybe I'll download that game to make some stepfiles, and post the links here. Heh... Dance Games Club, featuring downloadable danceable songs. Edit: Just to clarify which DDR-like games I have: I have a game called MC (Mad Cats) Groovz Dance Craze (just call it 'Dance Craze' or 'MC Groovz') which is for the Gamecube. One of the nice things about it is that it has an 8-direction mode. I also have a portable pad with a game built-in, I think it's called Dance Master, it has 10 songs, a pinball mode, and also whack-a-mole. I think it's only 4-bit, and for some reason I don't recognize 'La Bomba' as La Bomba, but hey! It's portable!

Oh, seeing as you have a clone of DDR, never mind. Holic is a song from DDRMAX that has an insanely wacky time signature, going from 5/4 to 7/8 then back to 5/4, If I recall correctly. Oh, and stepfile is a word that basically means, "The steps, graphics, and songs that make a file you play in computer DDR simulator, Stepmania." I make stepfiles. Go to the message boards > Song and Course Releases > [In Progress]ChickyMix Deux for more info.
