I tried the demo today, but I wish I could edit the control scheme, because I keep pressing the wrong buttons. :'0 I know I'll get used to it if I keep at it, but right now it's throwing me off a bit.

It took me a bit, but I got used to the bottons. I need to work on smash attacks a bit (I'm a little bad at them at the moment). If anything I would switch the Grab and Shield buttons personally. Would just feel better to me.
So far I'm liking Villager and Megaman. I don't really got Megaman down to much yet, but I'm doing pretty good with Villager.

Aerial attacks so far are my weak points. Of the characters playable in the demo, I played a massive amount of Villager.

I -do- really like Villager's ability to pocket all the things. X3 But of all the characters in the demo, I was still best with Pikachu. (Prolly also cuz Pika's my main anyway...) I feel like some of his attacks are cuter. He stands on one foot for his Skull Bash! <3 (Which, I don't -think- he did before, but then, it was also in SD, so never suuuper clear...)

The pocketing items thing is interesting. I went to toss a item I picked up (beam sword) and instead I pocketed it by mistake. I sort of forgot about it and later I just pulled it out of the pocket and used it XD

Yeah, but it seems getting hit a bunch can knock the items outta' you, just like it does when you're trying to collect that three-piece weapon.

I'm slowly getting the hang of things. Still not totally used to using the L and R bumpers XD I tend to forget they exist while playing >.> Which isn't good when wanting to dodge things.

Woo, I am so pumped for the 3DS version to come out! Got it pre-ordered, been playing a bit of the demo here and there... October 3rd can't come soon enough!
*hears about people destroying their circle pads playing the game*
Oh. Well that's... lovely. :'D

Yeah the whole 3DS pads breaking sounds fun.... But that's what happens when people are slamming the stick/pad to do things. As long as you're not really going crazy with the system you should be fine.

Yeah the whole 3DS pads breaking sounds fun.... But that's what happens when people are slamming the stick/pad to do things. As long as you're not really going crazy with the system you should be fine. I grew up with the N64 controller and its horrendously brittle control stick, so needless to say I've had to grow accustomed to being gentle with my gaming systems. The whole thing still makes me paranoid as heck, though. Like, ever since I heard about that happening to people, every time I do a Smash attack or make my character run, I think to myself, "Oh god, what if that movement was too hard? My 3DS is doomed." The end result is me being too careful, meaning that I'm hesitant to let Pikachu be the fast little rat he can be. This may be because I haven't played Smash Bros. since Melee (Have the original and Melee, never played Brawl) but the new grab/shield controls keep messing me up. I keep pressing R to grab my opponent, but I just bring up the shield instead. I hear that controls are going to be customizable now, though? If so, that's the first thing I'll be changing. XD Also, why Ridley's not in the game is finally explained.

Other large characters, like Bowser, changes depending on the series, but Ridley is pretty much giant in all versions. They could shrink him down, but honestly it wouldn't be the same. Fans should be happy enough they added him in Brawl as that boss fight. Or now Charizard's alternate color is Ridley color XD But for argument purposes, let's just go with that comic XD

Wanna know how many I've broken? Well, I can't tell you, because I lost count 10 years ago. I have a few forum journal entries on the subject, even. XD

I'm kind of hoping you can remap the direction controls to the D-pad, because I prefer it over the circle pad for these sorts of things. But even if I can't, and I wind up breaking the Circle pad.... all the more reason to get a New-3DS, amirite? XDDDD;;;;;
Anyway, I'm definitely downloading the game instead of getting a physical copy. This is one of those games I want to always have on my system, in case of impromptu battling with coworkers. (Kinda' regret not doing the same with Animal Crossing, because it's just kinda' nice to have all these "non-ending" games available at all times)

I downloaded Animal Crossing. I got a physical copy of Pokemon.
I'm unsure what to do with Smash. I prefer physical, because I just enjoy the idea of holding the things I buy XD But at the same time the digital will be easier and always have it.
