New Pet Revamps?

I don't like the fact that they retain their background in the Battledome, either. How does it make sense to transpose a pet on a scene from Terror Mountain when they're fighting someone in the Island Dome? It doesn't make any sense.

I actually don't think the change is too drastic. The feminine look is actually pretty subtle for the Kougra, I think; her eyes are just not opened as wide. And even tomboys, you must admit, have eyelashes.

Yay, they finally filled in the Shoyru's eye colour. They looked kinda scary with blankly staring white eyes.



The only problem is, now it's exactly the shade I created for Kiyoshi's eye colour, and his are supposed to be darker than usual. xD

For those of you worried about emotions on your pets, this week's editorial addressed the issue:

Hey TNT, I just wanted to ask -- are you going to draw sad, angry, beaten, hit, and other emotions on Neopets' faces? Because, when you win (or even lose) at any game or something now, the Neopets don't change their face at all! By the way, I know you want your artists alive, it's just that my Poogle keep looking at me like this: =D . Anyway... *loves the new layout*! ~my_dark_dream
Like we said, we're not done. Emotions are coming, though they will not have alternate poses like they used to (again, because of the need to keep Neopets in the same pose) and the emotions themselves will be a slightly different set than the ones you mentioned. They are just taking a while to complete... 4 emotions x 2 genders x 54 species x... well, you get the idea. We'll provide more information in New Features when this is released!

I figured that'd be the case (especially considering that eyes and mouths and such seem to load as a seperate pieces). So now people can quit their bellyachin'.

Like we said, we're not done. *quits bellyachin'* I guess it'll be a shame to lose all the battle poses, but at least we'll get some emotion on them. I don't think anyone can really expect the artists to draw several alternate sets of clothes for each species, depending on their pose. Right now, I'm so sick of Kiyoshi going to Coltzan's Shrine and coming back with a dazed, benevolent smile on his face just to tell me that his hands glowed blue, I'll be perfectly happy for any change. xD

She's supposed to be a tomboy and not distinguishable from boys. *shrug*
Well, I do understand TNT's opinion. I love the eyelashes on my main account's pets, I've always drawn my shoyru that way and was up to drawing my Draik the same way. I mean, they can't satisfy every person's wish, but they can try coming close to it - and that's what they are about to do.

As for the fightign/hurt/emotional poses:

Well, if TNT hadn't introduced the possibility to hold things like staffs (or weapons), they might have had some space for artistic freedom. Now I'm afraid they will look rather stiff when they're angry or sad. I wonder how the artists will manage this.

True...I have a grundo on a side account, and yes, she's shy and everything, but...EYELASHES? *shudders*
And believe me, if you knew Kiara, you'd know why eyelashes scare me so much...although I guess it's not much to complain about, seeing as some people have much worse revamps.

I had sent feedback about the revamps, and actually got a response It didn't really say anything important, but at least I feel like they listened to my thoughts and opinion; whenever I had sent ideas and such to them, I never got a response back, so it was like they were ignoring me. Although it may just be a copy and paste response, since it seems rather vague and refrains from really responding to my issues with the revamps

Description: Feedback: I still don't like the appearance of my pet after the redraws. For one thing, I liked how the old royal aisha girl could stand, but the redrawn version sits on all fours, and has shoes where her hands should be. The old version had longer hair, but the redrawn has a short bowl cut; this makes her look more like a boy with a dunce cap on, rather than a princess. Lastly, the redrawn version doesn't show all of her ears when you choose to wear the hat and hair, so it's either have missing ears or be bald. Please, please give users the option to not have their pets customizable; I know a lot of people who aren't happy with the changes, because you've changed the way we see our pets. How can we be happy when the pets we know and love have been changed so drastically? I've saved my np for a long time to get my pet to be a royal aisha girl, just to have her look like this . I don't even want my pet to have wearable clothing other than the royal outfit she already has on, so what would it hurt for you to allow the original royal girl aisha image to show up for us if we want, instead of the updated version?

Lucky they got your message! I know they won't listen to me so I just repained my draik to a basic color for now, she has three claws again! But her red quills (on top the head) are missing. That I can live with a little better but still I hate missing parts on my pet!

I'm glad yours got through so we can see if they'll let us undo the changes or not.
