Neopia's Golden Years

I enjoyed this article, although I do have a few complaints.

The elderly Neopian imagines himself basking on the banks of Mystery Island, floating on a Fuurn leaf as it glides around Kiko Lake or pondering if the Peophin next to him eats his potatoes mashed or liquidated.

I think the word is liquified. (and Furrn and Walein?, but even neopets mixes up their own item names.)

It is a little short and in the "Top Places to Retire" section, there wasn't enough depth to the reasons. Serene gardens and mountainous appearance don't tell me too much.

The description for the part before is excellent. My favorite is quoted above (and the following one is just a little too eerie.)

Don't think I'll be looking at Neopain retirement for a long time, but I've already chosen my retirement destination (and the gardens are serene.)

Gallery of Evil: The Spider Grundo

This story is cute in the beginning and then the foreshadowing (including the title) makes a good transition into the latter half of the story.

This is my favorite part:

"Shix?"

"Yeah?"

"What's going to happen to us?"

"Well, we'll probably become Dr. Sloth's slaves, like all those other Grundos we hear about."

"Are we ever gonna come home?"

"I dunno. I hope so. I've heard rumors that the Space Faerie is working on defeating Dr. Sloth, so hopefully we'll be set free before long."

"Good."

There was a moment's pause before Arly opened her mouth once again.

"Shix?"

"Hm?"

"Let's try to stay together, okay?"

"Don't worry, Arly," Shix replied patiently. "I'll never leave your side."

I couldn't help but smile.

I don't fully understand this part:

"Yes, but we have seniority." Shix grinned at Arly and stared down at a puny boy who peered back at him nervously. "Is this bed taken?" Shix asked, intentionally intimidating the child.

"N-no," the boy stuttered. He leaped off the bunk and ran to the other side of the room.

Shix immediately sat down, pleased with himself. Arly chuckled, shaking her head. She claimed the bunk directly under him for herself.

How much taller is Shix than the second(?) bunk with a grundo sitting on it? Do the bunks start on a lower level?

I loved the Whoosh! and FOOM. It reminds of sound effects from a few of the games I can't seem to remember but enjoyed for their nostalgic quality. (Ironic isn't it?)

The name Shix makes for some rather humorous phrases at various parts throughout the story.

I hope he has no conscience right now.

I look forward to these, I really enjoy the art style. Another good joke, but I think they Yooyu was obscured a little much, which confused me for a minute. Other than that, it was good!

I laughed quite a bit, the article had such a great voice and style. It also wasn't *technically* a list, so that was a big plus too. Okay maybe it was, but it was still better than most lists.

Darkest Corner- Dark_Elfa
It took me a minute to get the joke, but once I did I chuckled for a while. As always, I love the artwork.

The name was so whimsical I had to see how the story was.

All in all, very good, even though I had to piece together parts of the backstory. I'm interested to see where it goes.

Spooky by Komori - Cute! This one actually got a laugh out loud. Whenever I see Komo (that is the glowing Korbat's name, right?) his facial expressions always make me go "awwww." And I am so seriously jealous of your drawing. It's totally progessional. You never skimp on backgrounds. Even real comic in the newspaper don't have detailed backgrounds like yours! [/endfangirlrant]

No Game Here by Tee and Kami - Cute joke, your art is great! The detail on the Maraquan JubJub is fantastic.

Hali the Hissi by undefinded - Woah! Creepy pic! That's enough to leave an impact.

Don't Blame Me by Choclated - Hah! For some reason, the Uni calling that egg "Jacob" really struck me as funny.

Darkest Corner by dark_elfa - *stares at comic for awhile* OOOOH I get it. Funny, but it took me awhile to get it. Maybe a morphing scene would have helped, or something to help me realize the the two-headed neopet is the Uni. Beautiful art, though, and I usually don't like coloring that isn't done on the computer. Your art is always so nice. ^_^

It took me a moment to get it, but once I got it, it was laugh-out-loud funny. The art was amazing, too, I loved the art especially. One thing that got me, though, was that coffee was never spelled right...but, eh, who cares? The comic was wonderfully great.

First off, I've been meaning to keep reviewing the parts as they came up, but life has a pesky habit of getting in the way. So this is actually more of a review of parts 2-5.

As always, I love the illustrations you include, they add so much to the atmosphere of a story like this and your art style is just beautiful so... well the illustrations make a good story better, to put it bluntly.

"Whoa, they sure are good at making simple words sound all powerful and mysterious and capitalized, eh?"

This one caught me off guard in Part 2, because I do that all the time. You know, capitalizing the big things. I laughed so hard there.

The story has completely caught my interest, I eagerly await part six. An excellent piece of work and very well written.

That was very bad manners, and I'm not at all pleased.

I love how deadpan this line feels. I laughed.

The whole thing felt a tad disjointed and rushed, but all in all it was pretty good. I like the implication that more random events are not necessarily better. Great job!

I love this story so much. The way you played with the newbies' heads through the whole thing was fantastic, and all of the characters were well-written.

All in all, a fantastic job and I laughed the whole time. Excellent.
