I'm going to become a vegetarian when I grow older, because I know my parents wont like it. My friend and I are planning to make a summer school thing that teacher kids about animals.
HUNGRY *stomach growls*

*sighs* It was SOOOO hard giving up steak and chicken. New york steak, shredded beef, etc. *mouth waters* Tangerine chicken, spanish chicken, El Paso fried chicken. . . *drools*
But it was worth it because I am no longer haunted by disgusting, disturbing, and morally depressing images whenever I eat dinner.

I think I should leave this chat if I want to stay carnivore.

MUST... STOOOPP!!!! lol, don't worry. I'm trying my best to avoid eating meat and not getting into any trouble with my parents. If they force, me, I guess I'll eat it. If they don't... YAY! JOY! NO MEAT!!
For some reason, I keep on spelling meat the other way. Meet.

I eat fish and chicken and turkey and pig in bacon form, but that's all. I don't eat red meat, unless I have to.

I've ben thinking that if I could just find a small farmer near by who raises free-range hens I could try and convince my parents (their ALMOST as nutty about animals as I am) to make a deal to by their eggs for a greater price than those at the market. That would be really cool. Have you ever heard of "Cageless Eggs" aka "Free-range eggs". In theory, the farmers will NOT cage their chickens like a factory, but give a plot of land for the chickens to roam around, a coop where they sleep and lay eggs, and they are almost always organic too. Of course I don't know what the regulations are to ensure that the farmer is honest, but they are more expensive than regular eggs, but they are the only eggs I or my father eat. Cageless eggs - availible at your local supermarket or grocery store. Also, I know a about two hours drive away from where I live there's a county which has something called "Farm Trails". It's basically a catalogue of small farmers who are willing to sell their products right there at the farm, what they sell, and what season. There's a section for eggs, and if you get to visit the farm, you get to see how they treat the animals. You can find out more about it at www.farmtrails.org/ - even if you are not close enough to benefit from it, you can check to see if anything similar is in your area.

My probllem is that meat takes so frigin good. (esp. TURKEY) Suit yourself. My dad was raised on red meat, and he finds it hard to resist. However, my mom is also vegetarian, and she raised me on vegetarian foods, so now I'm stuck with an apathy for the taste of meat for life. I should count myself lucky. My cousin also has a gluten-intolerance. It might be a good thing, as it means she won't get drafted into the army - in a nation where they draft every healthy individual, male or female, and you see the army *everywhere*... However, I do have a taste for mock-meats. Very few of them are convincing, but I like them better than regular meat. There is one false-meat which, according to my dad, is indistringuishable from BBQ pork - it's called "Veat".
