My grandmother knits, or used to, but she also still goes hiking in Alaska, lives in her own home, and mows her own lawn. My dad also used to knit; now he's taken up crocheting ^^ 'Tis not 'grandmotherly', or at least not exclusively so. I guess I used a bad example. I stand thoroughly chastised.

Very well. You have appeased me...for now. Consider yourself warned.
(I took shop instead of home ec this year, although I like both. There's only one other girl also in it my hour, for whatever reasons, but the class's neat.)

I took Home Ec. too y'know! They didn't teach us how to knit - instead they taught us the applique sticth, sowing, and other cloth-related activities

Hmm...I think my school is the only one I know that doesn't offer Home Ec. In 6th through 8th grade, you have to take "Technology" (which isn't really tech because it's just woodworking). It scares me. I don't like big, huge, sharp machines that have the power to kill you....
Okay, now that I've gone a little off topic, I think I'll go away now.

Woah... *glances at people* I think I'm even OLDER than some of you... o.O Really! What age do you think I am, judging by how I speak and stuffies? <-- see? there I go again! If I did this in school, I'd be a gonner..

Yep. From the insanity board, no? Actually, no...from other boards. I haven't been reading the insanity board...there was way too much for me to keep up with there.

Yeah, I tried reading the insanity board once, but I'm just not insane enough to be there...I was discouraging the insane thought process.
How old do you people think I am, judging based on the way I write (In articles too...If you read them), act, etc. I'd guess about...Hmmm, that's a toughy. It's hard to guess your own age, isn't it?

My HomeEc class taught me how to raise a child (such things as "Do not kill the baby" "Do not eat the baby" "Do not feed the baby to sharks"), cook (we cooked meat in a microwave O-o), and sew (which i'd known how to do before because my mother taught me how to knit, sew, crosstitch, and needlepoint).
HomeEc = Evil...

Peachi, take a look at your fellow 12-year olds at school (unless you're homeschooled, in which case look at the other 12 year olds in your family and neighborhood). No, you are not outstandingly mature for being 12, but you're probably a 1 out of 25 (roughly the size of a class, no?). Oh, I know that. I just get people telling me I act slightly above my years often. I'm the youngest student in my class, but using 13-year-olds as an example, I think we come to the same level concerning maturity. (Of course, most of the students in my class do act very silly and immature sometimes, but so do I, so I won't talk. I took Home Ec. last year. We just watched people's parents come in and cook and we made a pillow; (that was supposed to be our sewing course). Oh, yeah. Enthralling.

Oh my... I feel very strange now. I never would have thought that most of you were only around 11 - you're so... so mature! Guess my age if you feel like. When I'm old enough to be a grandmother, I think I'll be one of those loud old women who wears bright colors and carries around a huge flower-patterned purse. You can't be serious all your life, y'know.
