Yeah, my brother watched the movie yesterday while I got to go on the computer. He says that Golem has two sides... I agree from reading uhh... half of the Hobbit O.o

Yep. Evil Golem was implanted in him by the Ring. But Good Smeagle is so sweet, I just feel so bad for him. . .

I just came back from seeing LotR:TT - GREAT! It picks up straight after the second movie, so you already start high in the action - or the plot already "pre-thickened" (with more plot-thickening to come). It is a gorgeous movie. There wasn't a moment when I got tired of it, unlike in Fellowship.
Some of the segments of the story, such as Helm's Keep/Deep, were just like action movies - very well executed action movies - with some corny bits such as Legolas riding down an Oriki shield on the stairs while shooting arrows, but what sets it apart is that the characters are emotional. There is a lot of concern and respect for human life which usually is not present in, say, James Bond movies where Bond just drives over civilians all he wants without giving a darn.
However, definitely the best part of the movie was with Frodo, Sam, and Gollum/Smeagle. Gollum/Smeagle is the most charming character in the movie, and the most hilarious.

However, from what I've heard, LOTR is a movie to see on a big screen with big sound. Part of the masterpiece is in the beauty of the images and the sounds, and that cannot be done justice by a home video set. I have DVD player, sound surround and a big tv. ;D AND three extremely comfy couches! BTW, I watched the movie again and I must say I really liked it this time! I guess it was the lousy teather that made me not like the movie the first time...

Glad you enjoyed it Hippiesoul I actually do have a decent stereo set, the next best thing to Surround Sound, but I'm still stuck with VHS and the largest TV set we have (which can't be connected to the stereo set) is so old that it barely shows color anymore. And the TV set hooked up to the stereo set is smaller than my computer screen - it is my computer, but the TV software on it can only manage to make the picture cover 80% of the monitor... In any case, I really enjoyed seeing both of the LOTR movies, and I await to see the third. Apparently some Tolkein fans are upset at the new movie ... from what I understand Aragorn did not fall off the cliff and did not see Arwen in a dream, and there were 5 chapters of the book cut off at the end ... however the same person also claims that Peter Jackson is a horrible director and all of the shots are really bad, so I take their opinion with a grain of salt.

Legolas is my favorite! (obvious reasons...) Everyone loves Legolas! I like him, too, but, hey, what about Aragorn? I love that man!

I think Aragorn is a bit too old for girls like Sticky and me, Hippiesoul. Too old? You're insane... =P Or maybe I am... I'm the one who loves men with beards, anyway... I just came from watching The Two Towers!! A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!! I loved it! I went to a diferent theater this time, with comfy seats =) All the Gollum scenes are perfect, you can barely tell it was computer-made (I now love Gollum, too, BTW). And Gimli, oh Gimli, that Dwarf is the best! I laughed so hard when he said "Toss me. But don't tell the Elf." So, yeah, basically, now I love Gimli, too. What can i say, I'm in love with LOTR now!! Maybe I *will* read the book one of these days...

Aragorn is cool!!! So is Legolas, Gimli, Gandalf, and everyone else in the movie that you can think of. I haven't seen the second one yet, but I'm going to see it soon. The one part I really like in the first one is where Pippin(sp?) and Merry just ran up from behind Elrond to accompany Frodo on the quest, and Pippin is like "You need people of intelligence on this mission...quest....thing." and Merry is like "Well that rules you out." That totally cracks me up. And the second breakfast thing.
