Received Netflix from my sister as a Christmas/Birthday present (actually, it was for the whole family), and I'm surprised at the decent amount of anime the site has. As expected, the majority of them are the popular/mainstream dubbed versions like Pokemon: Indigo League, but there are a few surprises/oddballs in the mix (mainly because they come in the original Japanese with subtitles like Ghost in the Shell: Arise or both dubbed and subbed versions like Gurren Lagann). I'm a bit irked at the term 'Netflix original series', though as it's a bit of a misnomer when it comes to anime.

I'm a bit irked at the term 'Netflix original series', though as it's a bit of a misnomer when it comes to anime. Yeah they have a good amount of anime. Downside for me, I've seen almost all of the dubbed stuff XD Most of it before it was even on Netflix. The subbed stuff took me by surprise a few times. Especially the ones who have dubs, but Netflix doesn't host them... I like dubs XD Anyways, yeah they have "original series" but it's more like "Netflix Exclusive Series" in most cases when it comes to the anime. Last I checked (when I had Netflix last) they only had one of these for anime. Since then I think I heard they added another? (Seven Deadly Sins I think?) Whenever I get Netflix again in the future, I'll probably sit down and watch most of the subbed stuff. I watched a couple, but most were still just sitting in my queue waiting to be watched. I'm a lot lazier when it comes to watching subs. I have to really be in the mood to sit down and read the show. Where with dubs I have the option to multitask if I want to. Which is how I've watch a lot of things.

Draco- at least two 'exclusive' ones, including the aforementioned Seven Deadly Sins and Glitter Force (Smile Pretty Cure in Japan)

Glitter Force is evil! *hisses loudly* Have only seen the transformation sequences, but even those are annoying! Would you be surprised that those transformation sequences just happen to be stock footage, recycled from the episodes they originally appeared in (more specifically, 1-5)? In fact, most, if not the majority of, magical girls series (among others) use stock footage in some form. Draco- Glitter Force is slightly better than the original name proposed for the dub, Gangnam Girls

I'm not surprised. More shocked over the names, like renaming Cure Happy as "Glitter Lucky".
Also hate the whole "Poof poof! Glitter ______" crap during the transformations.

YUGIOH. Just dropping this in here. I genuinely cannot wait for April. The new movie looks awesome. No shoujo will ever replace Sailor Moon in my heart. They put Code Geass on Netflix last week. CLAMP do some amazing stories.

CLAMP do some amazing stories. CLAMP didn't really do the story for Code Geass XD They did the character designs and maybe some art concepts. Which is why the characters have the traditional CLAMP long thin body types they tend to do often XD Code Geass is a awesome series though. I bought it a few years back to add to my collection XD Speaking of collections, I recently ordered Girls Und Panzer (Girls & Panzer). It was on sale at RightStuf for $5 (work $60) XD I first decided to skip it, then sort of ended up checking on it over and over until I caved and got it. So one more new series added to my collection. Around the end of March I'll also be receiving the Monthly Girl's Nozaki-Kun boxset.

I used to have the artbook for the manga, although I never really got into it. I collect artbooks and CLAMP are one of my favourite groups.

Just dropping in to ask-- does this thread include discussions about cosplay/conventions, or is there one about that already? If there isn't, I may just have to make one because I'm dying to talk cons with my NTWF CREWWWW! Our big local convention is coming up at the end of March & I want to be a total show-off about discuss my planned cosplays & progress on them.

My guess is to discuss like you want XD I haven't been to a con for a few years now... I might be going to Anime Expo again this year helping a cousin's fiance with a booth. Apparently the deal a few months ago was he would pay for stuff for me (good since I still have no job and not much money). I've cosplayed a few times, but pretty bad ones. There are a few I would like to do in the future, but need funds XD Oh, and I moved my dvds and games to a new shelf

Draco I'm absolutely dying with envy over that Azumanga Daioh DVD set. I also spy a Rosario + Vampire set in there-- one of my best cosplays of the last few years was Moka! I think I'm going to start a new thread for cons & cosplay. I'll post the pictures over there so you all can see!
