Leaving a few quick reviews:
A very fun quiz! Got a score of 19 and the description for that definitely hit home! Probably the worst category to be in XD A small suggestion: Perhaps the questions could be bolded/italicized/underlined. It was a teeny bit hard for me to follow as I kept scrolling up and down between the answers and points on mobile; I had to think a bit on where I had stopped sometimes. And finally, *likes and clicks on banana icon*. Eagerly waiting for more quizzes to be published (if you're ever doing them again)! TITLE: Eight Tips To Know You Haven’t Gone Crazy!!1! by Duke Pikachu I went bananas after reading your article XD It was a chaotic joyride and I had to reread so many sentences because it was really bananas (what more can I say?). Enjoyed the multitude of ways the content was delivered; it was extremely creative! Favorite typo: "i" for an inverted exclamation mark. Genius. Trips Through the NT Archives #1: Bananas by RielCZ The rudimentary art and color changes on the Aisha as well as the final banana made me giggle. The banana is especially cute and is a very fitting image to end the comic, imo. And I agree, it is indeed a lot of bananas! I'm wondering how you managed to do all that research? It seems like a lot of work! Neopian Sketches - Any Shopportunity by Ajax Checked out your comic from Discord since the image isn't working in the NT. A simple, original pun which I thought was so clever and laughed at. The pencil sketch is probably what makes it even funnier, imo. A suggestion that wouldn't affect the hilarity of the joke at all: Instead of poke, maybe Ban-Anna because she haggled too much with the shopkeeper. That way, it sticks true to Neo-mechanics. But again, it's great as it is!

One small comment: Poking the shopkeeper is actually a reference to a mechanism for refreshing the shop (clicking the shopkeeper). Too many refreshes can get you restock banned!
So it is really a direct reference to a neo-mechanic, but maybe not an in-universe neo-mechanic (if that makes sense)

The formatting was actually messed up for my article, alas. The original formatting can be seen here: www.neopets.com/~Sery_and_Vina I don't want to mail Stone about it though since they seem to have... a lot... on their plate xD with the broken comic images and other more pressing problems going on. I'm really glad you enjoyed my piece, though :3 Also wow, that is the highest score I've seen among all my friends who tried the quiz. xDD Will write some reviews later~ ^-^

And a massive THANK YOU to everyone for supporting my idea and turning it into reality! Everything looks super shiny and kira yaba! Unfortunately, the stupidly of life and an imbalance in the cosmos made me miss this collab. Regardless, it's thrilling to see everyone else participating in this banana-themed issue! Its no joke that I love you all! *Charlie the llama throws golden bananas*

Okay, my image is finally working, so I'm going to mention that this comic is brought to you by "I couldn't figure out how to remove wearables from my Neopets" (something to do with the Flash conversion, I think? I eventually did get it working though xD;) ...it's obvious I don't really do customization XD;;; I was going to eventually do this anyway but decided to finish it for this theme since I had been undecided what to put on Quiggler's head anyway. XD (Also, my initial submission left out Lulu's hair in one panel and I had to edit and resubmit it with a different title, hence the extra exclamation point in the title. XD; Luckily the exclamation point is actually fitting XDD Hopefully the unedited version gets rejected at some point so it's out of the system, otherwise the title will just have an exclamation point from now on rofl (and if I ever have to make any additional edits, it's just going to keep adding exclamation points XD;)) Thank you in advance for any comments, I really appreciate it and will do my best to return them! Meaning to work my way through some of the works in this issue soon! How Rascally Are You? by Stephanie (swordlilly) Ahah, so I honestly don't do any trading, and for that reason I like how the opening sentence doesn't assume familiarity with it and introduces it as The Cold Mysterious World of Trading, giving me an idea what it's like even though I've never been part of it XD I love how all the options feel like real behavior that different types of people would show, they all feel relatable and I had to carefully consider each question to find which fit best! I. I almost voted B on this one, except I don't trade at all, so in my case it'd be for another reason (like, say talking about the NT April Fool's joke.) So I voted D because I generally don't check the boards XD; II. A all the way on this one rofl, I can't imagine not just doing whatever I personally like/want. The idea of paying attention to popular items is a fascinating insight into how others play lol (people who voted D, what are "real riches" lol?!!) III. I absolutely don't have the patience to look for trade data rofl. I almost voted D on this one (which is probably what I'd do if I had to have that particular item) but went with C instead because yeah I can't be bothered to look for anything expensive lol. IV. D because I genuinely don't know the values of items lol (where is "look up the value then make that offer--I guess that falls under B xD; If I knew item values I might be more rascally ahah XD;;;; V. Why is B 3 points?? Aren't you supposed to be upfront? Okay I guess with strangers it's more standard internet practice to just avoid/ignore people you don't want to interact with, I get it xD; VI. I voted A, which is the least points, but almost voted C which is the most because I was thinking "well that way I could tell them they over-offered in private so it's not public?"... Again, I don't know the value myself though, so I might have just accepted rofl VII. I voted A, but it's more in the general context than specifically for trading... I mean, I'd worry because I'm not experienced haha I scored 13 ahah, the description checks out. I like the description for 9 because I find this is true, that people respond to kindness with protectiveness and gratitude. I've had that experience, but I dodn't always come across this way 100% because I do have a little bit of a jaded streak and self-defensive instincts xD; "you'll also annoy enough people along the way that you'll miss out on the real good trades" Oh no, that sounds like a rating you don't want to have xD;; Everyone loses here! "You'll glide along coolly in the world, secretive, powerful, and alone" I love the mysterious description rofl, but can anyone actually pull this off?! XD *hits the banana icon* It was really fun to take this survey, despite not doing any trading so I had to just imagine my responses in similar situations. XD The descriptions all feel like how people really act, giving it that ring of truth that's so amusing in itself. I can tell the questions and options come from a familiarity with lots of different kinds of behavior commonly seen on the boards, so this gave me a glimpse into a Cold, Mysterious World of Trading I hadn't known before! XD

Thank you so much for the review, Azusa! The formatting was actually messed up for my article, alas. I'm really glad you enjoyed my piece, though :3 Also wow, that is the highest score I've seen among all my friends who tried the quiz. xDD Even if you mailed Stone about it, I doubt they'd change the formatting. Editorial 976 mentioned that wrong formatting would stay the way it was once it was published I feel exposed xD I'm a somewhat fair seller (I don't support super inflated prices and mostly sell my items off at lower than TP's lowest) but veeeery conservative buyer. I'm sure I've annoyed many along the way (description is so spot on it hurts xD)! But c'mon, I think it's reasonable for me try to negotiate for those P3s, right? Those prices are beyond insane! I have a few P3s in my SDB but I'm not selling them now because I absolutely don't condone this market manipulation (even though it can earn me a pretty sum). Speaking of which, is there any way we could try to alert TNT of this? I submitted a question about this for this Editorial but it wasn't addressed. I'm not sure if I should try again but I know there are many players feeling the brunt of this.

Speaking of which, is there any way we could try to alert TNT of this? I submitted a question about this for this Editorial but it wasn't addressed. I'm not sure if I should try again but I know there are many players feeling the brunt of this. I think TNT is aware that in-game inflation is a problem but they don't seem to know how to solve it. They tried mass-releasing some things in events (Christmas Meowclops during last Advent Calendar, for instance, and the Sticky Snowflake Stamp, but those releases only caused the prices of related items like Black Petpet Paint Brush and Candychan Stamp to skyrocket, so it... helped some people and hurt other people and ended up not really changing the status quo all that much). Even codestones are inflated now. Lu Codestone and Vo Codestone are apparently over 10K now, and Eo Codestone is 21K. Imagine being a new/returning player in 2023 and trying to train your pet. Grinding games every day for an hour would only just enable you to afford training. You wouldn't be able to save anything unless you (A) won a creative contest, which in itself is a huge struggle; (B) high-rolled a prize in said contest; (C) got into restocking, which is a whole other issue that favors people with fast internet, fast reflexes, and time; or (D) just shelled out irl money for premium membership and merch. Then there's the fact that people disagree on inflation even being a problem. Usually the people who already have hundreds of millions of NP in the bank, who can comfortably afford betting every day in Food Club, and who already have their pets trained and painted don't realize what a struggle it is for others to afford basic things in Neopets. Sometimes people just don't care because inflation doesn't affect them or anyone they care about. I guess for now I'm just gathering data on how much people can reasonably earn on a daily basis, and how much things cost. Like research about minimum wage and cost of living in-game xD My petpage about which Flash games to grind in 2023 is already getting nearly a hundred page-hits per day. That'll be for a future article, perhaps. Anyway, if you want to talk more, there is a thread about this in Neo-General :3 How Rascally Are You? by Stephanie (swordlilly) Ahah, so I honestly don't do any trading, and for that reason I like how the opening sentence doesn't assume familiarity with it and introduces it as The Cold Mysterious World of Trading, giving me an idea what it's like even though I've never been part of it XD I love how all the options feel like real behavior that different types of people would show, they all feel relatable and I had to carefully consider each question to find which fit best! I can tell the questions and options come from a familiarity with lots of different kinds of behavior commonly seen on the boards, so this gave me a glimpse into a Cold, Mysterious World of Trading I hadn't known before! XD Thank you so much for the detailed review!! ;u; About knowing values, you basically just need to... be connected. ^^; For NC values, there are the petpages www.neopets.com/~Owls and www.neopets.com/~OwlsTwo, but those are managed by people who compile the data which is submitted to them on the neoboards and through a Discord bot. Referencing the Discord bot is the faster way to get data on recent trades. NP trading is similar: There is a Discord bot that pulls the latest data from auctions, and that you can reference to see how much things are selling at. Jellyneo's trading post history is another resource. If you notice that some things have been getting listed and re-listed for months without actually selling, that's a sign that the listed price is too high. If you can't be bothered to get access to the data for yourself, you can also ask people that you trust who have access to the data. It's better than just taking shots in the dark, anyway Anyway, I couldn't talk about those things in the article because some of this data is only available offsite. And I wanted to be in sync with the playful tone of the April Fool's issue ^^ I'm really glad you found it entertaining (and hopefully interesting as well)!

Weathering the Bananza by Gelquie Plesio knows what his wheel's about haha, he's not trying to advertise it as anything more than what it is. The lack of excitement is part of the nostalgia!
I get the sense of Seep's very excitable personality--interesting that they're a sentient Shadow Cybunny plushie, I wonder how that happened? They seem to be treated like a member of the family, though I'm imagining them as toy-sized rather than like a plushie Neopet.
"They're high in potassium" At least Plesio makes an effort to advertise a little!
Everyone is just going along with all these bananas that suddenly appeared XD What else can you do, I guess?
Seep is so cute burrowing into Glimmer's feathers xD Poor Seep not wanting to seem weird for being a plushie!
"No! Maybe." They keep getting drawn into the bananas despite themselves xD
The vendor seems totally fine with everywhere being bananas, they're just rolling with it xD Isn't this driving down the prices at all?!
"My garden's gone, so maybe it also turned into bananas-?" Omg go look for your garden?!! Everyone's too chill with this! xD
The kids throwing bananas in the Giant Omelette xD I'm sure people would keep grabbing it anyway, that's got to be a rare one! And the Monotony Quiggle certainly must have a lot of downtime xD He's so nonchalant about the talking plushie, he certainly must have seen a lot!
Oh no, Terror Mountain is covered in bananas too! I can see them all over the snow just like they fell out of the sky! The fate of the frozen bananas and bananas rotting in the sun really hits home what a calamity this is!
Yuck, squashed bananas D: Ice is slippery enough already without banana peels on top of it!
Taelia saved them!! It stands to reason she has powers over snow but not bananas xD
Seep's excitement seems to be overcoming their shyness about being a plushie xD
Everyone trading banana recipes XD The community does come together in a crisis!
Why are the organic bananas cheaper omg I appreciate the reference to the neopets economy xD Hopefully this drives down inflation?! The Dark Ferie handing the Light Faerie a banana as they're talking, it's very amusing how everyone is just handling the bananas in the background like everything's normal xD
Omg I can picture the Air Faerie just herding clouds of floating bananas through the air xD
"Like whoever's responsible for this would seek approval" Good point xD Someone's idea of a practical joke?
The Light Faerie just takes the banana and leaves the Dark Faerie with the peel?! xD Watch out she doesn't try to throw it down and trip you xD
Oh no the yellow mote blending in with the floating bananas!! xD Maybe the Dark Faerie should have given them a dark mote instead xD
I feel like all the elemental powers were needed to make these bananas... but oh no, it's draining the land in other places D: It's an environmental crisis!
Well, banana essence is probably not the worst thing that could pollute the ground and water, but what do I know?
It's a good point that there are worse problems than too much food. This has probably actually helped a fair number of Neopians!
A-ha, so it was a group of rogue faeries behind this! I hope the Maraquan bananas are still edible xD; The Lost Desert at least could mummify them to preserve them. Maybe they could give them some rain showers and see what wild plants grow there... I feel like the Air Faerie did a lot of the work for this, though xD; Good for her not taking on any more than she can handle!
Well, all in all they're right, no lasting harm done by the prank right? xD And it was quite amusing to see everyone reacting to all the bananas xD I guess the Chaos Faeries got away with this one! Time Slip by Carolyn I love how the first line feels like "It was a dark and stormy night" without being "It was a dark and stormy night", haha. I get the feeling of the setting and the wild storm going on outside. Oh my, the dramatic introduction of the solitary lone banana! So much importance it holds to poor hungry Kayla!
"Meepits" does seem like a likely Neopian imprecation, giving their reputation for being trouble. Uh-oh, the banana changing colors as it gets soaked in potion--it sounds pretty, but don't eat that banana!!
hAHAHAHA oh my gosh. Jeran stepping directly on the potion-soaked banana and just DISAPPEARING omg I am laughing XDDD The suddenness!! I'm so surprised and amused! XD
"Sweet Mortogs on a bun" Now I'm enjoying Karyla's use of colorful Petpet-related exclamations xD I get the sense she has the opportunity to use this type of language a lot while making potions.
Ouch, Jeran's armor dropping on him like a bookcase, exactly the opposite of what it's supposed to do for him! Good to know Velm helps out Jeran when he gets in trouble!
Uh-oh, is this a different Kayla? She doesn't seem to know him!
It's an alternate dimension!! Everything is similar to before, but just a little different!
"It was the banana!" Jeran is quick! Glad he knows what to blame already xD
It looks like this dimension does historical reenactments and/or is in the future?
I feel like it may be unwise to assume Meridell Castle is in the same place and skip directions, but for Jeran's sake I hope it is xD;; Naturally after defending it for so long he'd feel confident about finding it.
Oh I like how Jeran recognizes the clothing styles from Lisha's description of the future! I love how it actually ties this in with that part of the old plot!
"like a Rock Petpet to the face" I feel like he got this from Kayla... Excellent that they've changed Meridell's future since Lisha was there! (It does make me wonder though if there are even more branching dimensions?)
It must be so strange being in the castle-turned-museum, all these familiar artifacts hanging lifelessly behind glass. I love how Rohane's Father's Sword gets such a place of honor because of how it served against King Terask! Love the nod to the NQII mechanics!
Oh no, the shock of seeing Rohane's death date D: Jeran has to get back to his time where Rohane is still okay!
Jeran don't cry! There's got to be a way to get back! D: Being left alone while everyone makes entertainment of what you've poured your heart and lifeblood into is too cruel a fate D: And would he be lost to everyone in his time?
I'm starting to feel like Jeran might run into another Jeran at some point.
I like how "Rohane"'s formality to Jeran gives him away as an actor, also giving the impression of the real Rohane's rough/irreverent personality.
He seems to have the arguments with Jeran down, though--they seem to be falling into their usual quarreling xD
Jeran, go easy xD;; I'm worried about the actor xD;;
Thank goodness the Blumaroo can actually fight! And oh--he really is related to Rohane!
Oh, she's a girl? Excellent! I'm glad to know everyone in the family has had the chance to learn the sword!
"Next time, Sir Borodere, I'm going to win." Good for you, Rohuna! But I feel bad for the next actor who faces her! xD Might need to keep two gallons of water on hand XD
What a relief Lisha seems to be taking him seriously! It occurs to me that he hasn't told this to anyone else yet--Lisha is the only person he trusted to help.
Oh no Lisha's letter, from a time when she lost her brother--that's too tragic to think she lost him to time travel again! I sense how much Jeran trusts Lisha, even in an altered dimension, to take her hand and go along with her immediately.
It's really lucky these historical reenactors are all method actors and actually trained in the things they're doing xD
Of course they need a banana to reverse the spell! I feel like this is one of the easier spell ingredients to get!
I love how Chet Flash Wuz Here managed to get worked into this xD He's even made it into the spellbooks!
The sparkly shiny colorful banana sounds pretty, just like the one that sent him here @_@
Hooray! Jeran's intentional slip on the banana worked to reverse the spell! I like how the title refers to slipping on the banana as well as slipping into a different time xD
Lisha is here!! I can feel how much brother and sister love each other and the relief they feel to be reunited, hugging so fiercely, and how Jeran begins to echo Lisha's tears as she wipes them away.
As amusing as the initial slip was, this turned into an emotionally fraught and nerve-wracking adventure for Jeran. I'm so glad Kayla and Lisha's notes made it to the future and they were able to change the past--I hope they're reunited for good now, though it does make me wonder how many alternate dimensions Meridell has! I enjoy how many times things went back and forth affecting the past or future, and how it incorporates the time travel element of the old plot! Blossoms~ Coming to Light Epilogue by Twillie I'm sorry it's taken me so long to say this, but this is an absolutely gorgeous, ethereal, haunting panel and I've found it so dramatic and striking ever since I first saw it! I love the vivid color of the tree standing out against the dark background; the way the whole scene shifts into full, vivid color seems full of meaning in contrast with the monotone used in the "real world". In reverse of how things looked in the last panel of the last comic, the Aisha is now dwarfed by the tree, giving the impression that the tree really holds an immense power despite appearing small in "reality".
I love the way its branches twist and spread at angles across the whole panel, its full puffy pink leaves spreading over the Aisha protectively. I love the straight angles used for its trunk and branches, while the leaves are so rounded and full, feeling almost puffy and gooey--it has a very pleasing cartoon tree feeling about it. It feels so magical how the pink leaves shine and ethereal glitter drips off of them into the darkness, echoing the way the roots drip down past the panel!
I notice the glitter seems to drip below the Aisha as well, like its magic is extending over her, or she's extending the magic somehow? It feels like the roots go down a long way and perhaps extend into far more than meets the eye. It feels so solemn and dramatic, hinting at so much meaning behind what the tree represents!
Also, let me apologize for my backhanded comment about not putting bananas on the tree xD; When you mentioned an edit, I couldn't help imagining with horror the dramatic moment being somewhat altered due to clusters of bananas hanging off the tree. ^^; But your hidden banana is so clever!! I wouldn't have even noticed except that I tend to open images in a separate tab to zoom in on them, and I was like "huh, why is the image so long?" and I found it! That was such a fun and fitting Easter egg! xD

Nut - Thank you for the in-depth comments and feedback! This work was a bit on the experimental side, so I'm happy to hear commentary for it. =D Hope it was a fun read! Was definitely leaning more on the comedy for this one despite spending way too long figuring out the logistics of the phenomenon because I'm a nerd, and it sounds like that shone through for you! Seep is accepted for now! They first appeared in the birthday issue, and even then the jury's out on their nature and how much Daydream trusts them. xD Anyway, you're right, they're toy-sized. ^^ And they are indeed very excitable when something catches their interest!
Basically yeah, an environmental crisis that could nevertheless help in some ways, along with "people" being people about it. xD The Chaos Faeries got away with it indeed! (Air Faerie slept very well that night. x'D ) It's good to hear your perspective on their impact! Those perspectives will help me with in-universe reactions to their shenanigans in future stories.
I like your idea for what the Chaos Faeries could do to the Lost Desert! I haven't had ideas for their Lost Desert shenanigan (due to other things distracting me from Neopets), but it inspires me to think of shenanigans they could do there for a future story! (Plus, any excuse to figure out the geoscience of their shenanigans because that was super fun to figure out. Honestly, I think figuring out Neopia science and figuring out how to implement them into fics was half my reason for this story. xP ) I wrote some tiny reviews, but it looks like I didn't post them! I'll get to that in another post (while maybe adding a few more x3 ).

Comments ahoy! Liou - What a fun and very srs duel! Love the quips and chemistry between them! Kat - Aww, it's definitely a mood when an author just... goes off on all the wrong things and it just tinges the work, and ruins it for a fanbase who were otherwise influenced by it. I think you captured the RL parallel well without fully mirroring it and creating a safer (but still hurtful for in-universe readers) impact for the NT. Carolyn - This was a fun story to read! With definite sad moments at all the times he missed, and all the changes of the future. Rohuna was fun and good at going along with the changes in script. And Sue and Elizabeth seem to have a good friendship (at least) going on! At least Kayla and Lisha figured out what the spell did and had a good strategy for fixing it. ^^ I wonder how long time passed in the past while they figured this out? Anyway, all's well that ends well, I suppose. xD June Scarlet - xDD Sometimes mysteries are just that simple! I guess one could spin it to a frame-up, but uh. The look says it all. xD @coco6468 - Aww, what a cute art style! And ah, the shenanigans we do when we really want to make a friendship work, and the shenanigans when it really doesn't work out. xP @waternymph12 - I mean, given how dirty arcade floors are, I'm not sure that's much worse! xDD Fun style, and gave a good laugh. xD @yellowflower7 - I never thought of it that way, but that's a really good point! Those poor Neopians. x'D RielCZ - I have been educated on bananastistics! (And a lot of editions with at least one banana, come to think!) @cureleantwilight and suzerz - xDD When even the rich $10 banana lady is shocked! Fun play on a meme, and I really like the art of the characters! @prulletje1852 - Ahh, the state of things now when we rely on the Neolodge. xD Kengplant I really enjoyed reading this part and seeing how they saved themselves and settled the moment. =D Looking forward to part 5 in Issue 982! Ajax - Ba-dum, tsh! xD Nut - Aww, I'm happy they're happy! =D Honestly, I think the bow still works on them! Plus, matching with the slorg. x3 Quiggle is also correct! Live it up!!

Gelquie Thanks! That comic idea's been in my sketchbook for like ten years, I think. It didn't quite fall into place until now. I don't think that a hair from Rainbow fur is actually multicolored like that, but it gets the idea across so well, and who knows for sure, because multicolored hair does exist in fur sometimes. But yeah, with all the different colors in Neopia, it must make crime solving much simpler in some cases.

That was such a fun and fitting Easter egg! xD Thank you for all the detailed feedback and kind words!! <3 And no worries on when you may get it posted, I always appreciate when people give me commentary, no matter when it may be :3
I had fun going ham on the trunk and branch details haha, and I owe it to the irl tree references I looked up that helped me get creative with their twisty shapes. The roots and pink magic extend beyond the panel borders as a way to convey the amount of power the tree has. It's so great that it cannot be contained by mere borders, in contrast to Zathandria who's dwarfed in size by the tree and also kept within the confines of the panel. I did have to get creative with the panel's size in order to show this breaking of boundaries, though, as I forgot about the 470px width limit up until I actually started making the comic xD
And oh no, I didn't find it backhanded at all! It's a valid concern to have lol, and had I not thought of that idea on how to incorporate a banana, I probably would've just risked submitting the comic without any theming haha.

Nut - Aww, I'm happy they're happy! =D Honestly, I think the bow still works on them! Plus, matching with the slorg. x3 Quiggle is also correct! Live it up!! Thank you so much for the kind review!! It makes me so happy you're happy for her!! =DDD (Lulu is she/her, but I really appreciate your consideration! ^^) She's delighted you think the bow still works! I'm so glad you agree it matches with her Slorg; that's the highest compliment she could receive! XD I love how you say live it up!! 8DDD I'm so happy you can tell that's exactly what he's doing!! XDDD Thank you so much for supporting them both, I really appreciate your kind comments! I'm so glad you posted all your reviews, it's amazing you commented on each one!!
Honestly, I think figuring out Neopia science and figuring out how to implement them into fics was half my reason for this story. xP ) I did pick up on how the bananas were affecting and/or being incorporated into the weather in all the different areas, and how it took all the elemental powers and/or environmental factors to make it happen! I enjoyed seeing the different effects on each area, and how pets were reacting/coping with it in each place! (And I appreciate the double meaning of "Weathering" in the title. xD) Definitely makes me think more about Neopian geoscience as well!
I had wanted to read something lighthearted when i picked this up, so yes, it was very amusing! xD The way so many pets are so chill about it, and our protagonist group at first seems like the only one to go off and investigate but then... in the end they get distracted and give up as well. xD
I'm so happy you like my idea for the Lost Desert! xD I was trying to think what would cause upheaval in a desert and thought of the opposite, rain. (Though it does rain in deserts from time to time, and some have regular monsoon seasons.) I'm not exactly sure how the Lost Desert would react but I think it's based on the Sahara desert? There might be soil erosion, new rivers... I'm not sure how thin/dry the soil is or if it would all just be absorbed by sand, but flash flooding could happen in areas where the soil is rocky. And of course new bushes popping up randomly, bonus if they're weird new plants never before seen in the area. xD
