\ o / Thanksgiving, Canada Edition.
We didn't do anything big, just the basics: Turkey, stuffing, veggies, mashy potato. Instead of pie this year, we made cheesecake. 8D

\ o / Thanksgiving, Canada Edition. I like that our Thanksgiving isn't near Black Friday. We also get peak Autumn weather.

Our Thanksgiving is a harvest festival, so this is the perfect time for it. :D Our Thanksgiving is pretty low key, not at all big on commercialism. Up until a couple of years ago I never really knew what "Black Friday" was supposed to be... and I'm still not quite 100% on if it has any other meaning besides blatant consumerism. XD

Black Friday is just like Boxing Day; some good deals, a lot of forgettable ones.

If you live in the Americas (north or south), you might be in the path of an annular solar eclipse this Saturday! Find out if you're on the path here: www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/solar/2023-october-14Disclaimer: Never look directly at the sun. If you don't have specialized eclipse glasses or telescope eclipse lenses, or they're damaged in any way, you may have to watch it indirectly. Look up how to make a pinhole projector so you can at least see it that way.

Did you end up finding a good spooky game? =o
Didn't do much for Friday the 13th myself aside from appreciating some appropriate memes, but I have been prepping for Halloween! Broke out the very few decorations we have (might check the thrift store for more some time or even craft my own >w>) and have finally decided on a potential costume to work towards. It's one I thrifted some pieces for in the past but never completed, so I got those out and made a few more thrift purchases this weekend. They were online buys though so I'll have to wait and hope that they fit alright xD

No, I ended up not being in the mood for a spooky game. I booted up Minecraft, but I kind of ended up just... meandering around not sure what to do because I had no inspiration or direction at the time. x'D I did take an impromptu 2 hour walk earlier that day, though, because that's what I do. It wasn't the cause of my mood at the time, though.
That sounds like a lot of fun! Decorating for Halloween sounds like fun. I'd join, but I don't have a place till later this month; doubt I'll do much after that. And woo, costume! \ o / Fingers crossed that the pieces fit and you'll have a complete one in time! (Or maybe you'll at least get close enough to still make it work?) Are you in a trick-or-treating neighborhood? Because that could be fun. =D

Aw, yeah I've been there a few times before! But instead of Minecraft, I end up wandering around on Old School Runescape while trying to figure out what to do xD And walks can be nice! It can feel good sometimes to just get up and walk away from things for a bit.
Yeah, it can be good for getting into the Halloween spirit! =D But aw yeah, makes sense while you're still in that transitional period! Does the area have many houses decorated for the holiday? Thanks! I'm sure I'll figure something out if the things I got don't work out haha, even if it doesn't end up quote how I hoped.
Not really, alas </3 I know there's kids in my neighborhood as I pass by their school bus stop every morning, but I don't think there's enough that they trick-or-treat in this area. Probably go to nearby neighborhoods with more houses xD I know my work is having a Halloween week coming up, though, so that might be a good opportunity to wear a costume! I might also get other opportunities if my sister invites me to something, or if I go to a Halloween event I think my martial arts organization is hosting (gotta get more info on that first).

As part of my diy decorations, I made this autumnal wreath tonight (meant to make it... last year, but constructing a wreath from scratch can be more annoying than anticipated xD).
Not sure if it's too extra or not, but I was hoping to hang it outside my office door at work.
(ignore the imgur icon in the bottom right, I don't feel like fighting with it tonight lol)
