Honestly I find myself preferring the comic format too. It's cute, it somehow vibes better with the site (easier to get into, possibly?) and it's not as ambitious as trying to squeeze a plot out of a daily video, giving them more versatile options.

Yeah, that's pretty much how I feel about it, too. Feels more digestible somehow, and certainly much easier on the artists than trying to crank out a full animation every day for a whole month, haha. I think it's kind of funny that the bonus object says something about finding the "hidden" object. It's not very hidden... It quite literally jumps out at you, and is big and bright and kind of hard to ignore.

I'm really liking the shift to comics. It seems like it's less resource-intensive than making a bunch of videos; and honestly, they're telling much better stories so far than in recent years.

Of all the times I've seen treefolk stomping around, I've never seen a tree settled on a couch with snacks and probably a TV set in front of them off-camera like any proper human couch potato. This is original and I have to commend it.

These single gif days are odd, especially today as I don't know what's happening in the animation. (Almost looks incomplete, like something should be outside that igloo to be grabbed?)
Regardless, though, I'm also a fan of the comic style this year, reminds me of the old plot comics with the thick black borders and art style :3 Also means I don't have to wait around for however long to see the whole story, which puts less pressure on the payoff and is good for someone lazy like me xD

Animations like today's keep throwing me off. I keep switching between "Yeah I love this!" and "What's this even supposed to be" depending on the day and whether it actually provides a comic lol. It's also odd when the prizes don't match the days, but tbh Advent Calendar items for me have always just been novelty collectibles, so I care more about how interesting or creative they can be haha.
