I'm enjoying the power of two Void Blades in the BD. Unfortunately my plan to try and get another stamp didn't work out. (I didn't get a Wild Negg choice, otherwise I would have picked that for the book...)

Found Topsi all 10 times. And after getting my second (??) Jungle Ruins BG from the Wild Negg, I wound up trading it for the book.
Which means I now have all the prizes I wanted.

Despite a promising start, sadly seems like a pretty standard Negg Hunt thus far. Topsi Mystery: Topsi is... back? He seems to be under some kind of... mind control? Well, his eyes are glowing at least. And he's very persistent on meeting Mira. Was hoping maybe the discovery & claim text would give hints/tell a mini-story like they did last year but, not really?
Started promising with Day 1 as Kari questions how Topsi was strong enough to move the Magma Pool statue (which probably would also be hot). But then after that? Only a few had any additional text after claiming the Negg and all other locations really aren't notable outside how Kari herself reacted to them. It's not until Day 10 did they "further" the mystery by there being odd metal bolts left by the Discarded Grundo Plushie.
Now, the obvious theory is that Topsi is under mind control by Dr. Sloth... but outside that there doesn't seem to be a plan? Like, I HIGHLY doubt Topsi has the strength to beat the Space Faerie unless Sloth gave him something (which if he did nothing hints to it so would be a back-pull). I was thinking maybe they could have used the Negg Hunt to reveal that maybe Topsi was building something/setting a trap but lack of significant dialogue argues against that unless you count the metal bolts to meaning this. Like, I guess maybe how Kari reacted to some of the locations could also be Topsi figuring out Faerie weaknesses (foul smells, cold temperatures), but I think that's a stretch (especially since, while Kari would be sensitive to those things, Mira I think would have some cold resistance as she flies through space). Oh, and of course the "finding Topsi" side activity doesn't tell us anymore, really feels slapped on especially with how vague the instructions were and players were able to complete it before they should have because they didn't really program it properly. *facepalm* But even if they have, compared to previous side activities from past Negg Hunts, this is pretty disappointing. Prizes:While I know many usually go after the Stamp, once I saw the Void Blades stats I wanted at least one. While I may not use it, if there ever is another battling event than surely the Void Blade would be a highly sought after weapon. Anyway, it took me like 7 days to finally get one! And each time I did get the Void Negg, but it always gave me a Casserole with one time giving me the book! But FINALLY I got the blade so next goal is now the stamp... if only the Lady Blurg Negg would show up! Actually, on the first day, before knowing the Void Blade stats, I did go for the Blurg Negg wanting the stamp... and got the Bag instead. But then Day 2 on I focused on the Void Negg until I finally got the blade. But since I'm now not getting the Blurg Negg I keep choosing the Void Negg since more blades never hurt and now I have 3 of them! Anyway, quick opinion on the prizes going via Negg: * Chalkboard Negg: Some creative ideas here. The Mug is a neat idea and, curious, I checked to see if it was a real thing and sure enough it is (not that I'm getting once, but just think its a cute idea)! The Uni Horn Chalk looks nice, I like how they change color through the spiral. And finally the cookies which gave me a good laugh along with its description; sure chalk is technically edible, but I'm not sure if blackboard is!
* Lady Blurg Negg: Of course the top prize here is the stamp, and it's an alright stamp though a bit boring. Think a cooler idea if it was shaped like a Lady Blurg and was designed to look like you were looking at it top-down. The plushie is cute and so is the bag, nothing more to say about them then that.
* Rippling Colours Negg: I'm not sure how useful that mirror is going to be with all those swirls on it; honestly I thought it was some kind of Freezing BD weapon via hypnotizing your opponent with all the colors. The swirling top is pretty, probably the best looking one here. The snowglobe is meh, just isn't as eye-catching, maybe if it was animated would look better with all the colors moving around?
* Void Negg: Void Blade is one of the better BD weapons they've released in a while. I think it also strikes the right balance of being powerful but the bulk of the icons (Physical & Darkness) are commonly blocked plus the Anagram Swords are still more powerful than it. Sure it's cheap right now and likely for a while they'll be plenty around, but if a battling event ever starts up I do think these would be one of the weapons snatched quickly. If you need consistent main weapons than it's not a bad idea to upgrade to these (unless you got better) while you still can. And that's not the only other likable item on offer, there's also a book which looks just as cool (oh, I didn't mention that, but yeah both the blade and book look cool). The casserole I normally wouldn't have much thoughts on... but since I got like 5 of them when the only thing I wanted was the blade I now despise this dish... even if it also looks pretty nice...
* Wild Negg: While not having a Stamp or Blade, Wild Negg is probably the third best Negg as it has items players would still want. A Petpet is always nice even though I question making it a Tyrannian Pawkeet cause that could have just been a normal Pawkeet Colour (if they wanted to do Tyrannian would have gone with a prehistoric Petpet that was based on a dinosaur). Good looking backgrounds are always high in demand, especially ones of unique locations which inside old jungled ruins I think certainly qulify. Finally it too has a book which you can never go wrong with.
* Ranking: Best are of course the Void and Lady Blurg, depending on what you want. Wild comes in third, Lady Blurg in fourth because it at least has the bag, and Rippling Colours in last as there's really nothing it has I see value in.
* Wanting Neggs: Hoping we get a set of the Neggs this year like we did last. Last year Neggs were alright, but these Neggs look pretty good and would like having them be real items. Well, until more, that's all I got to really say. |

Decided to switch things up and get the Chalkboard Negg for some variety. Got the mug. My Negg senses were correct.

I got the stamp on my first try, but 7 void Neggs later and I'm still searching for the sword. if you'll like I just got my fourth blade today so you can have one. Maybe after the event is over we can hold a prize swap? Not that any of the prizes are expensive, prize swap or no I would suggest if you like any of the prizes you may want to consider buying them now while the event is still going thus are likely at their cheapest. They may go a bit lower, but once the event is over they'll likely start increasing in price (notably the stamp, blade, books, & wearables), steadily but surely. |
