I made a post or two like this way back in 2011, but I'm unveiling the 2019 model! I do this project quite a lot. I generally try to redraw my characters every few years. I've only done a few so far, but I'm going to work my way through the 51 pets I have had over the years. (I had my original 20 aolloted, then I got a few more which I stored on my brothers accounts. xD I also include some of my shop and gallery characters as characters, and I also lost a few when my old main got ice'd (for my safety) so that's why I have 26 more than I should) Anyway I thought it would be fun to challenge myself and try to finish this project this year! Plus it will help give me motivation to post and update! We will see how far we get. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

ahhh it's weird to say that this style is somewhat nostalgic to me? i used to see it around the forum all the time!
i notice that the human forms of some of your pets seem to have different personalities/expressions than your neopet-forms! are they slightly different characters, or just different emotions from that same character? O:

Omg that makes me so happy, Moni! <3 Yes, a lot of my characters have strong personalities, for instance, Harley is a 5000 year old demon posing as a sweet lovable sunflower, and what I normally do is I make RPG/dating sim style greeting images on my pet lookups! I keep the Pet lookup images exclusively Neopet. I thought it would be fun to display several sides to my characters by making the neopet versions more expressive, where as the human version is more of a reference drawing so basic poses and expressions etc. Also, Adding a new one today!

These are great! The Neopet-to-human translation is very cool. I especially like their outfits - they're all very fashionable. :D

Reviving this thread with more of my pets! Now that I've unlocked all of my old accounts I'm more motivated to actually finish reference art for all my pets!

I love the strong use of complementary colors in your designs! It really causes them to stand out. Plus, they're all so unique, one from the other. You can get a good feel for your characters' personalities.

I've had many of these guys for years and they've really cemented themselves in my mind as my children at this point. The hard part is translating the colors of the actual neopet so I tend to take a lot of creative liberties, such as making my Jelly Shoyru lemon, and changing the colors on the candy kougra haha.
