But still, did JS not test this? Is there something on the player's end causing the game to be glitchy? I've seen all sorts of people with all sorts of hardware both completing it and failing at it. People with high-powered gaming rigs reported a lot of lag while people with old, outdated laptops were able to complete it fine. And, of course, the sensible vice versa to those scenarios were reported as well. So if it's something on the player's end, we can rule out things like internet speed, RAM, CPU, etc... Honestly the game seems to work only when it feels like it. Like I said earlier: poorly optimized.
I think they did test it. Once. On one high end machine. In a test environment completely separate from the live site.
As far as getting it to work, unfortunately this appears to be something you need to figure out on your own. Some things other people reported working: - Make sure your mouse cursor is in the game window box somewhere - Play it in the browser (Firefox/Chrome) you don't normally use. Many Chrome users reported trying it in Firefox and saying it worked better. I'm a Firefox user and I struggled... until I ran it in Chrome and had zero issues with Lyra slowing down. - Zoom the screen out a bit - Obviously don't have that new winter site theme active while trying.
Of course this is all just to get Lyra to move at a decent speed. Even if she's going as fast as she should, you still need to get lucky and hope the doors open properly.

Thread, I have found a way to make the L-tile-doors open! It hasn't got rid of the lag, but it's at least let me get through in 26 seconds and given me hope. When you press a horizontal and a vertical arrow key at the same time, as if to move diagonally, Lyra will sort of glide against the nearest wall. Sliding in that fashion lets me open the tiles. It's like she's parkouring against the walls to gain momentum. Edit: and I got it! Was lucky enough not to run into coins or scarabs on my way.

This game is way too poorly optimized for 25 seconds to be realistic omg x__x I know right? I tried playing it just the other day, and wow, that rotating wall bug is a massive pain...I had a really difficult time figuring out where to go. Took me 5 minutes trying to no avail, not to mention Lyra moved so slowly (thanks to lag) I couldn't bring myself to finish it.
I may try again later, as I might have better luck this time. But in all seriousness, you have to wonder whether they thoroughly tested this game, which judging by the comments on here, it doesn't seem so.

I somehow got 25 seconds, by zooming out so I could see the whole playing field at once, and still it took me a few tries. The 25 seconds is definitely... luck? lol
Also, if you haven't already, if you have the default new holiday theme, switch to another site theme. That seems to be helpful also.

Just beat the ruins and got most of the achievements! As I thought, the holiday theme was bogging everything down to a crawl. Though, looking through the Achievements, I can't help but notice this, which may or may not be a typo:
Fast Track
You found the shortest route out of the ruins without opening more than n doors. TNT, I'm sure you meant to put in a number there?

I love this dialogue
Well-written things are boring. I love this stumbling, seemingly-sincere attempt at making a conversation! And honestly, Aurrick is great. I still like him.

I managed to make the timer run by closing every program except for one browser tab that I opened on the game link.

These characters are teenagers. Teens aren't going to always know the perfect thing to say in every conversation. Especially when there are important secrets involved. They're going to be awkward, they're going to repeat themselves, they're going to do and say things that make adults shake their heads. It's... debatable whether or not this is completely intentional, but it's working for now.

I just gave up on Timer, despite doing everything mentioned from switching browsers to clearing cache. It's the doors that don't respond well.

Uhhhhg.
TNT needs to either fix the game, double the time limit, or nix the achievement altogether. I hate being this negative but there's no way around it: it's utterly unplayable.

So, we got back to back story updates, but nothing to do.

It's overwhelmingly likely it's going to end either next week or the following week. We've probably had all the activities we're getting and the rest is just reading the story.
