It's that time of year! Inktober, the challenge where you do an ink drawing every day, every other day, or every week of October. This is the place to post your work, discuss, and support one another. Anyone can join in the fun at any time. "Anyone can do Inktober, just pick up a pen and start drawing." says Jake Parker, the founder of Inktober. Try your best! Even just one post on here is considered a win, because we're pretty relaxed around here. As long as you're making art and having fun, you're doing good. Thanks for making this thread, June! =D
And oooh, didn't know the official prompts were already up! I'm probably gonna give this another try this year, as last year saw at least some success. We'll see if I can beat my record last year and get some more ink sketches in! x3
(also, I'm really digging that "whale" prompt)

Didn't know prompts were up already either! Could've sworn I checked a few days ago and it was still not there... but good to know it's there now so I can pick out my references in advance, haha. Time to whip the fountain pen into shape again, test my sanity, and attempt to get through ALL OF THE DAYS. Thanks for making the thread, June!

Ooh. While I make no promises about posting regularly or even doing all of them, I would like to do at least one drawing. My inking skills do need the practice. So you might see me pop in and out with prompts that I get ideas for. Life and energy permitting, of course. But I want to do something. \o/

I’m hoping to participate in Inktober again as well! Last year I made it to about halfway, I think, so my goal this year is to do even better. I mostly want to have fun, so I won’t be disappointed in myself if I don’t (since I’m also planning on making other art during the month). But I think it’ll be fun to try again!
Good luck everyone! I look forward to seeing what you create =D

The apple is pretty neat, Rabbit! Had totally forgotten that was poisonous xD

Whereas me: oh hey, Inktober, perfect timing with my current attempts to get back into drawing in a quick-n-casual manner, I should try and set maybe 10ish minutes aside for it every day so I can gateway-drug myself back into the habit and won't get so bogged down by adding details that every drawing becomes an intimidating undertaking. Also me: Day 1: Poisonous, or Why Yes I Do Wish that These Flowers Existed in Real Life (working title). (It didn't actually take very long. Although I will be very surprised if I can keep it up in a remotely consistent manner.)

Day 1: PoisonousQuick drawing of a blue poison dart frog, because these things are the most gorgeous and most deadly things in the world. They are just under 4 cm long and have enough toxin to kill several people. They are also not the most poisonous of their kind (that would be the golden poison dart frog) but I think they're the prettiest.

Day 1 - Fundamentals: 2-point perspective studies Okay so maybe one of them might be 3 point but tbh I never tried to learn perspective from a book and I always get confused how many vanishing points are in my drawing... I just kinda... draw them? BUT I'M ATTEMPTING TO IDENTIFY THEM. I figured if I can correctly identify key points in perspective I'll be able to make environment drawings look more accurate. -nods- This in particular was a suggested study to extrapolate vanishing points from references. Boxes indicate the scope of the original image.

Not sure I'll do this the whole month, or maybe that's just today's awfulness talking, but figured I would at least give it a shot. Day 1 - PoisonousIn Dungeons and Dragons (which I'm currently running a few campaigns for so it's been on my mind), green dragons can breath poisonous fog. Couldn't really get hand-drawn smoke to look right, though, so instead, "oh I shall practice my curtsey" snarky dragon.

Day 1. PoisonousLast year I was using a dip pen and sticking to purely black and white, but this time I went in with my colorful ball point pens! I'm not sure if I'm going to keep using them all month or if I'll trow in other inky art supplies, but this was fun for the first day! ^^
