Session 59: Names Learned!Istosol (he/him): a mysterious elf Tally and Khamet found in the woods and also hooked up with. Also he had been living in the woods for three years, but not really, and Tally gave him his clothes.
Bealsheer (she/her): spring eladrin who works for the Bureau, and met with the party to try and address some of their concerns about the organisation.
Fram Stresk (they/them): human wizard who learned Vystris' true name, and used it against her, which weakened them and meant that she was able to kill them even as the party took her down.
The Circle of the Skies: archfey who Melanclily told Basil how to contact. If he says he was given the ritual by Mel, the archfey is more likely to take notice, and can help him free the Fey Knight.

Mankarah Adventure: The Prelude to the Daisy Dance: The Weylin Episode! "But I do not want to take a bath," whined Weylin. Weylin was sitting in front of the bathroom, pouting with his legs crossed, his cat-ears flopping down to his chin. "You cannot make me. This is oppression!"
"Are you serious?" asked Cassandra, "you stink!"
"Well, that's not a very nice thing to say, is it?"
"I mean that you literally stink!"
It was very hard to get on Cassandra's nerves; he had an angel's patience, you see. Or perhaps a fiend's patience; you can perhaps argue that angels, being used to ordered and good things, have little patience for mischief, but a fiend must deal with it constantly, and they become more skilled because of their experience with mischief. At any rate, Cassandra conjured up a spiral of water with the sheer prowess of his martial arts and prepared to give Weylin a good cleaning--whether he wanted it or not!
Weylin dashed out of the way like a very unhappy cat with a pig nose and an ugly face. "I trusted you, Cassandra, and you betrayed me!"
"You betrayed my nostrils!" he retorted, splashing some more water in Weylin's direction.
All this ruckus woke up the entire party, who quickly came to witness Weylin being a baby. Inima, Mike, and Oregano all snickered at Cassandra's inability to land a single drop of water on the firbolg (remember that Weylin turned into a firbolg after eating the rainbow sand!) They laughed until Cassandra had enough; he wafted a foul-smelling breeze from Weylin to his other companions, and they all wanted to vomit.
"Aw, Weylin, come on, man, take a shower or something!" said Mike. "It doesn't even have to be a bath!"
Weylin hissed and jumped out the window, inexplicably prancing away on all four limbs. Inima looked on with confusion; it was true that Weylin did not like baths very much, but he had never smelled as bad as he currently did. At least, not during the time that they knew him.
"How strange," they said, mostly to themselves.
"Very strange," Oregano agreed. "Usually he keeps himself a little less musty than this. He could at least wear some perfume."
"It ruins his 'natural scent,' apparently," scoffed Cassandra. "I am not even asking him to take more baths in the future; I am asking him to at least smell like a normal person in time for the Daisy Dance, which is, if you don't remember, tomorrow! How can we make a good impression on Lord Ylraemis if one of us smells like a toilet? Then the rainbow sand won't get cleaned, and people will keep turning into monsters, and they will all be very sad, and it will be all my fault--"
"Cassandra--" began Inima, only to be cut off.
"It will be my fault!" he continued. "I will have let everybody down."
"Cassandra, snap out of it!" yelled Oregano. "You are panicking right now; go and relax; we will handle Weylin for the moment. Well, me and Inima... Mike, make sure he relaxes."
"Yes, sir," said Mike, who took Cassandra by the hand, leading him to the kitchen to make some calming tea. This left Inima and Oregano alone in front of the bathroom, and they immediately got to work brainstorming. Of course, most of their ideas were dead ends, and had to be flushed down into the sewers of bad ideas.
"Maybe we should try to lure him to the bathroom with some catnip," suggested Oregano.
"Well, he's a firbolg, not an actual cat," replied Inima.
Usually, at this point, they would consult Mankarah, the brave and handsome paladin who everyone loved and respected, but Mankarah was busy having an adventure with Speedy, and he was to return just in time for the Daisy Dance. Unfortunately, this left the party without its very charismatic leader, so they had to work it out all on their own.
"Well, I suppose we should find him first," said Oregano. "It does us no good to chase our tails here."
And so they were off. The two scoured the city of Ica Naash in search of Weylin; it was easy enough to track him down, because he was extremely conspicuous and bad at trying to divert attention. You see, Weylin had a constant need to be the center of attention at all times, which made him blend in very poorly. Also, he had made many people faint because of how smelly he was, so all the duo had to do was follow the trail of unconscious bodies.
They eventually found him in one of the public gardens, where a few guards were summoned to investigate the matter of a "very large skunk." Unfortunately, they could not approach him, even with five-foot spears; that's how strong the smell was. In fact, it was even making the occasional bird fly away in disgust.
Even the gods, it seemed, wanted Weylin to take a bath, because it started raining.
But Weylin was not about to give up. He tried casting every spell he could remember, but none of them could stop the water. Instead, he screamed very loudly and ran indoors. All this finally managed to wake Sandy up. The magical weasel moved its head and uncoiled itself from Weylin's neck.
"What is going on?" asked Sandy.
"You must assist me; my companions have betrayed me, and I am confined to these walls, woe is me!"
Sandy, being somewhat wise, investigated the matter himself. He went outside in the rain, where he found Inima and Oregano trying to get into the park office--the place Weylin decided to hide. He greeted them.
"Sandy!" exclaimed Inima. "Nice to meet you again!"
"Running away from that stench?" asked Oregano.
Sandy shook his head. "Oh, right... well, I spend most of my time around Weylin's neck, you see, and when you live with him for that long, you just turn off your nose." Inima and Weylin were very confused, so he explained further: "I am a fey, you see, so I can make slight changes to my body, and one of them is simply turning off my sense of smell. It has saved me many a headache."
"Maybe we can turn everyone's noses off at the Daisy Dance," suggested Oregano. "I'm sure we can pass it off as some consequence of the rainbow sand."
"How would we do that?"
"Spread a cold?"
"We'd need more time for that," said Inima. "We only have one day, and I do not think Mankarah will be happy with us if we intentionally spread a disease."
"Also, Mankarah is blessed by Leo, and he cannot get sick easily; he would still smell Weylin," said Sandy. "It is very strange; I have never seen Weylin quite this averse to taking a bath. I mean, he's hated baths ever since he was exiled from his village."
Indeed, Weylin hated baths because of what had happened to his village. When he had realized that his village was burning, burning for real--not as a threat, or an imaginary dream--he realized he had done something wrong. He quickly tried to remedy his mistake, and grabbed as much water as he could to try to put out the fire, to try to save someone, but it was not enough; his house and belongings and family and friends burned anyways. From that day forth, he hated water's inability to save them, and rather than do any sort of introspection, decided to take his revenge on water by never taking a bath. Also, Weylin loved to be the center of attention, and his smell made sure that he turned heads.
Now he was huddled in the park office, muttering about how much he hated water because it failed to save his family. Stupid water! It couldn't even put out a magical fire; that was all he wanted it to do! Everyone in his life had failed him, he felt. Everyone! Didn't they know how evil and disgusting water was? How terrible it was, smothering you? It could drip down to your lungs at any moment! It could kill you! Why couldn't they see that? All they cared about was the stupid dance; they didn't care about him!
If only his teacher were here, to save him from the water, and all these false friends he had. She always knew what to say to make him feel better; in his mind, she was much more steadfast and loyal than any of his "friends."
His delusion was so strong that he hated everyone in this city. Take a bath for the Daisy Dance? Why? Because it would get the rainbow sand off the shores? Why would he care? Everyone deserved to eat the rainbow sand, just like he did. Why should they be happy, and he not be happy? Why should he stay with these evil people who wanted to expose him to the evil water?
So he left; he left everyone, even Sandy, who stood by him thick and thin.
***
Inima, Oregano, and Sandy tracked Weylin up until the city limits, and the wilderness lay ahead. They could no longer find unconscious bodies or track his scent; indeed, the rain did an excellent job of masking his escape. Inima and Oregano were drenched in rain, but they couldn't just return as failures. If for nothing else, Cassandra would have a heart attack, and Mike... well, Mike was probably making wedding arrangements; he was so in love with Zotyl that he couldn't think of anybody else.
"Well this sucks," commented Oregano.
"Maybe we should try to find someone who knows their way around the forest," suggested Sandy.
They eventually found two people arguing just outside the city. An elf dressed as a bat and a bat-person were locked in the most intellectual of battles:
"I am man-bat," claimed the elf
"No, I am man-bat," retorted the bat-person.
"No, I am man-bat."
"No, I am man-bat."
Thus they argued in an infinite regress; only when Inima asked who the "man-bat" was supposed to be was any light shone on the matter; the elf called himself Manbat, and enjoyed living in the forest, pretending he was a bat, and scaring off the actual bats who lived there. The bat-person was named Sonofnos, and he was a paladin who protected the forest. The elf's name was manbat, and the bat-person was an actual man-bat.
As thanks for resolving their argument, Manbat and Sonofnos, two of the most idiotic, stupid, dull-witted creatures that would ever exist in this or any age, offered to guide them through the forest. They were both very dumb, but they knew their way around a bramble or two, so Inima, Oregano, and Sandy followed them.
Weylin, meanwhile, had run so much that he had tired himself out. He was very unhealthy, and he couldn't keep up the pace for any long period of time, so he found a cave and slept in it. He managed to get a few hours of sleep, and when he woke up, he had attracted many disgusting snails who were lured in by his stench, as well as a yellow pair of eyes watching over him.
It was his teacher.
"Weylin, my love, you look so tired," the disembodied voice commented. "Have your friends abandoned you?"
Weylin tearfully nodded. Tears, he thought, were unbecoming; there was no need to cry, for that only summoned the evil water from his eyes.
"They always abandon you, don't they? Do not despair, sweet Weylin; they simply did not understand you. Nobody understands you like I do. And you are back in your original form, as a firbolg... those cretins don't know how cruel they are."
Indeed, seeing himself as a firbolg again made Weylin's memories of his past all the more painful. He couldn't bear to look in the mirror; he couldn't bear others seeing him like this. Like the disgraced forest manager.
"I don't want to look like this... I want to forget..."
"You will regain your elven form, in time, we just need a little bit more magic," she soothed. "You're very smart, I trust you know how to use it."
He felt a warmth coming over him, like a hug. His teacher, he felt, loved him for who he truly was; not even his stench could keep the two of them apart. She was the only one who would ever love him. He sat in her metaphorical, not physical, arms for a while.
"Now, I must ask you to do something painful. Will you forgive me, Weylin?"
"Of course! I... I will always forgive you!"
"I need you to play nice with your companions for a while. Just a little while. It will be the fastest way to learn how to do what we want to do together."
"But... they hate me."
"Please take a plunge in the water... for me. I just need that dagger, and then we can leave this horrible world behind."
Weylin, unable to say no to his teacher, who he was in love with. She had managed to convince him to not try with others except for her, because she was the only one who would ever love him, and he couldn't lose her, because then he would be truly alone. Thus he was successfully isolated; and even though Weylin was indeed disgusting and ugly, if he tried, even he could find many friends.
He stepped out into the rain and let it wash the grime and smell away; it was not perfect, he would still need to take a proper bath, with soap, and that would be another ordeal altogether. He stood in the water, stirring with anger at it inside for failing to save his village, and while he did so he saw a few figures on the horizon: Inima, Sandy, Oregano, Manbat, and Sonofnos.
"Weylin!" called Inima, who sounded genuinely happy to see him. "You're safe!"
"Yeah, you're all good," said Oregano coolly, "and you smell better, too."
Weylin nodded. "I guess.. I needed some quiet time in the cave to reconsider my actions. You were right; the Daisy Dance is important, and I should bite the bullet and take a bath."
"You should take baths anyways," said Inima. "It's good for you to keep some hygiene; you wouldn't want to catch a disease, would you?"
Weylin, who had never considered the possibility that he might catch a disease by never taking baths, was surprised at this comment. He supposed... he supposed Inima was correct. Maybe they did want this for his good, he thought. Maybe they weren't being selfish.
"Yeah, and you feel better after a good shower, you know?" said Oregano. "At least I do."
Soon enough, they headed back to the city of Ica Naash. For a moment, Sandy stared into the cave, suspicious of Weylin's sudden change of heart. He knew that Weylin was not nearly self-aware enough to come to such a conclusion by himself; he certainly had help... he certainly had her.
He knew this day would come, which is why he told Mankarah about the story of Weylin's village and his suspicious teacher--but he knew that he needed to be discreet; the teacher could not know that he knew that she was there, and she could not know that Mankarah would know that she was there.
Sandy needed to play his cards extremely carefully if he wanted to save his friend!

Session 59: IstosolKey Points:*The party acquire the Sunfire Blade. *Basil learns a ritual to summon an archfey to aid the Fey Knight. *Tenacity, Tevineri and Tayin are all invited to Anthony's wedding. *Anthony gets an iphone upgrade. *Khamet and Tally resurrect Volan. Shenanagins ensue. *Tally learns of Wisp's new ability to take on humanoid forms.
Recap Proper:Tayin, Tally, Anthony and Basil step out into the Bureau. Their prisoners are handed over to the guards, while Tayin leads the party back to their room. Tally takes the opportunity to explain how frightening time-travel was for them. Meanwhile, while Tayin is distracted, Basil takes the opportunity to sneak away and follow the prisoners. Unfortunately, he is noticed by a skitter guard. Basil really wants to speak with Melanclily, and so he attempts to hide again while the guards are locking her up. He is unsuccessful. The skitter escorts him back to the rest of the party in their room. With Tayin having left to retrieve the other members of the Disaster Party, the party are free of Bureau eyes and ears for the time being. Tayin soon returns with Meallan, Amani and Khamet, and leads the whole party to Xendras. The blue dragonborn congratulates the team on the successful assignment, and hands Khamet a magical gem that can be used as a component in certain spells, such as revivify! However, Xendras is concerned with what he has learned about Tally grabbing and shaking Tayin, in spite of their repeated efforts to escape. He is unsure whether the party can be trusted. Xendras thus asks the party to tell him why they deserve the Sunfire Blade and, after they dance around the question for some time, Khamet mentions that the God-Forger is also a pretty big deal, and wouldn’t it be great if they could return both to the Bureau? He manages to convince Xendras that the party is capable of taking down Malka, as they did the Spider Demon and so many others; and that they can safely return both the Sunfire Blade and God-Forger to the time agents. Vederax retrieves the Sunfire Blade and hands it over to Khamet. Basil asks Xendras if he can see the prisoners, as he believes Melanclily can help his imprisoned fey friend. This is permitted, and Vederax leads Basil back down to the holding cells. Melanclily doesn’t want to give up what she knows for free, but Basil offers her the crystalline rapier he stole from the feyre. With Vederax magically mounting it on the wall nearby so that she can admire the artifact, Melanclily tells Basil about the archfey she is allied with: the Circle of the Skies. She teaches Basil a ritual to summon this archfey, and says that they will be more receptive to his request if he says that Melanclily taught him the ritual. She also lets Basil know that it may take some time for the being to appear, as they will not be directly summoned, but rather his message will reach them and they can choose to then make their way to him. Meanwhile Tally, Amani and Meallan have gone to the library to research. It seems that during his time in Valdrona, Meallan learned a worrying piece of information about Master Solstriana: it is she who will drive the God-Forger into Malka, and in doing so deify her. He tries to gather more information on this detail, but to no avail. He also searches for information on the Bureau itself, discovering that it maintains records of its past successes as well as failures, and of where time agents have gone wrong. You can’t protect the timeline if you aren’t willing to learn and adapt, after all! Meanwhile Tally learns that Xendras is actually a blue dragon, not a dragonborn at all, and reads as much as they can on drow. It turns out that the one thing all drow have in common across the multiverse is that, whether they have broken away from her or not, all have some initial connection to the Shadow Queen. The party reconvene in their quarters. Meallan shares what he learned about the Bureau, but notably withholds his knowledge regarding Solstriana. They are interrupted by the arrival of Tenacity and a spring eladrin time agent named Bealsheer. The latter is here to clear up any concerns the party may have about the bureau! During the conversation, Bealsheer produces the frost staff from a fold of her magic skirt, and returns it to the party. Also during this conversation, Tenacity and Khamet devise an excuse to go out into the corridor and stare at a piece of art, because Tenacity is very awkward being here with Bealsheer. After Bealsheer’s departure, Tenacity lingers for a time. She is glad to see the party made it back alive and well, and apologetic about her role in their earlier injuries. She is invited to Anthony’s wedding and says that, though she needs to ask first, she is very keen to attend! Tenacity also agrees to ask Tevineri if he wishes to attend the wedding. After some time conversing with the party, she leaves. Tayin walks in as Amani is floating Khamet around the room to demonstrate their new telekinesis spell. Tayin has Anthony’s promised iphone 10- one from their personal collection, barely used, with the box and everything! In response, Anthony asks Tayin if they want to attend his wedding. They say they need to think about it. As Tayin leaves, Tally steps outside to join them. He wants to explain why he treated them the way he did in Valdrona, and to apologise. After a pause, Tayin says that they don’t want to go into it too much, but that it will be difficult to forget what happened. However, they appreciate the apology, and the pair awkwardly shake hands. A little later, Tayin again returns to take the party to the portlal-room so they can return to Lustross. Fingerguns are exchanged as the time agent and the party part ways. Amani immediately reconnects with Night’s Peace, and learns that the party have been gone for two weeks. Tally and Khamet go to visit Yuri, saying that they wish to collect mail Khamet had sent there. After a time they realise that Aytal is following them. Tally picks up Aytal and walks around, yelling that Meallan has forgotten something. After a time Meallan appears beside him. Aytal leaves with Meallan, and Tally and Khamet are free to go about their business. Yuri quickly answers the door. He just as quickly explains that he is learning to make sandwiches, with Lenny as his test subject. His jam-making skills have also improved, thanks to the book Khamet and Tally gifted him! Most importantly, a parcel has indeed arrived for Khamet, from Ovinrei in Evertemple. It contains a glove which once belonged to Volan- and so, the angel now possesses an item which belonged to the wood elf, a necessary component for his revival. Yuri begins the ritual. He crafts a slender, brown-skinned and green-haired wood elf, and calls Volan’s soul into it using the glove as an anchor. When Yuri looks away to speak with Khamet and Tally, the wood elf screams, rolls over, and throws up on the floor. Khamet hands him a blanket. Volan is clearly distressed, and thinks he is either dreaming or in hell, but not to worry! Khamet is here to clear up everything with the handy-dandy pamphlet he wrote for the occasion. Khamet's Brochure [legendary, unique]
The "title page" has a hawk that is clearly drawn by Khamet flying over the words "SO YOU CAME BACK FROM THE DEAD?" followed by an exhortation to open the brochure because it has "very good advice" on "restarting your life... literally!"
The inside text is as follows: Hello Volan! You might be confused--and cold--because the last thing you saw was you getting hit in the head in a cave in Eaine! You died from that, but you have come back to life in Lustross, with a fresh new body! You were revived by an angel. Now, this might be overwhelming, but hopefully you will be comforted by the fact that your little brother, Vaan, is a cleric of the Everqueen and has turned his life around from banditry! Also, the Circle Enshadowed, the cult you grew up with, is no more, and you no longer should be in fear of them! Once you get to Eaine, you can reunite with your brother and he will be happy to see you!
WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE WITH ME, THEN? We are Khamet and Tally! Tally is the Ambassador to Ur, and Khamet is a Paladin of Anhur. Together, we will get you home! [There are many hearts drawn here.] Now, you may also know us from the time that you were killed, and we may be traveling back with some of these people, but this is okay! They have sworn off killing. However, if you desire to call them mean names, this is acceptable, and we will not stop you.
Volan is still confused, but wants to travel back to Eaine and see his brother again. The party devise a bulletproof cover story: his name is Istosol, originally of Cai and now travelling home. They totally wing it beyond that. When the party regroup, ‘Istosol’ is wearing Tally’s usual clothes, and the drow has donned his performance attire. The trio explain that they found Istosol in the woods, where he had been living for three years and run out of clothes, hence needing to borrow Tally’s. He was abandoned in Argentian by his family, who went back to Cai Shaan, but now he misses them and wishes to return to see them. This story is not at all convincing. Amani knows what is really going on...this is Tally and Khamet’s secret lover! The three of them very quickly agree that yes, that’s it, Amani nailed it- which is not at all suspicious in any way whatsoever. In Giant, Meallan asks Basil if he can keep an eye on ‘Istosol’, as this whole thing is extremely fishy. Basil remarks that this elf is probably just some fugitive, but agrees to do so. When Khamet challenges them to share what they’re talking about, Basil says that they are speculating that Khamet is not a very good lover. Khamet is offended! After a time, Khamet takes Istosol to buy some clothes and get a beer, over which they discuss the details of his cover story to ensure consistency. Later that night, Meallan takes Tally to a quiet park, and they sit down on a bench large enough for three. At Meallan’s prompting, Wisp explains that he wants to take on humanoid forms, as he likes it a lot more than being a rat. Tally is encouraging, and so Wisp takes the form of a blonde-haired, tanned-skinned elven teen with sparkly freckles like Yuri. Both Tally and Meallan cuddle him, a gesture that Wisp appreciates. Wisp further lets Tally know that he can talk to the young fiend if whatever is currently bothering him seems like too much, and Tally says he’ll keep that in mind. The party all turn in for the night of the 35th of Stone 15003. In the morning, it will be the first of Iron as the party begin their journey back to Eldershore- and from there, back to Cai Shaan.

Session 60: Fire in the RoadKey Points:*The party learn of a potential fey presence near Eldershore. *The party fight a mysterious orange elf and an assortment of elemental beings.
Recap Proper:On the morning of the 1st of Iron, the Disaster Party leave Argentian in a hired carriage driven by Anthony. Multiple party members are suspicious of Istosol's true identity, and Meallan in particular asks him a series of probing questions. Increasingly distressed, Istosol ultimately tells Anthony he wants to leave, but the bard refuses to halt the carriage.
Near evening, the party arrive at Moonstone. They settle down at the Donkey Trough inn. Khamet, who is at a table with Istosol, notices the elf watching a pair of dragonborn siblngs. Khamet can see he is upset. He follows Istosol back to their room, where Istosol confesses his sorrow at having missed out on a normal sibling relationship with Vaan. Khamet tries to reassure him that he will still have a chance to achieve this, before returning to Tally to let him know how Istosol is doing.
Tally and Khamet meet a man named Luka, whom Tally teaches to dance. Meanwhile Amani overhears a conversation about rumoured fey activity near Eldershore- strange lights and the like.
After a quiet evening, the party retire, and the following morning continue south towards Eldershore. Amani mentions the fey rumours to their roommates Meallan and Pippi, and Meallan admits that he saw a flaming dwarf staring entranced into a lantern in the lighthouse in Eldershore. Pippi is incensed to learn he did not share this with the group, and insists on there being no more secrets- for one, it makes her job a lot more difficult. However, Meallan does not tell her about Solstriana's possible involvement in Malka's deification.
The next morning, the party continue towards Eldershore. Asariel informs the party that they heard about people disappearing near the lighthouse in Eldershore, and the party discusses this potential fey presence and what it could mean. Things are quiet for a time, before Anthony spots something up ahead: an orange elf examining a pair of corpses, a roaring wall of flame at her back. When questioned, she admits that she killed these people as she wants to see how they work, and combat begins.
The elf is quickly banished by Pippi, with Khamet helping to ensure she stays banished. The wall of flame reveals itself to be multiple creatures, which soon summon more as well as other creatures which resemble living tornados. Meallan banishes one of them, and between them the party manage to finish off the rest.
A minute or so passes. Asariel begins to tell the party something, but they are cut off by a tremendous screech. A massive bird made of lightning dives towards the party. It is the 2nd of Iron, and the party are not safe just yet.
