Sunny... English.. village? Does not compute tbh. Still, it looks really awesome! I said this before I think but you did a great job unifying all the colors together--even if the dress did turn out to be more blue than green! I like the great contrast between the warm+ cool colors and how you handled the shadows. Looks really like a normal Brightvalian Street without their strange addiction to stained-glass windows! And Cie+Biscuit in the background there... A+. Lissandre seems to have taken notice of them--probably because they will be soon having FUN ADVENTURES in Brightvale! RIGHT, I have never heard of the locals praising England's bright sunny days. XD I'm surprised such photos even existed. True story, every time I've been to Britain, it's been bright and sunny. Including one memorable trip in March when we had a good four feet of snow everywhere and then I went to Bristol to eat scotch eggs while sunning myself on the lawn of some random town square. The locals always swear up and down and sideways that this normally never happens, so I'm forced to conclude that either I have some very specific weather-related superpower or stories of icky British weather are a carefully constructed worldwide conspiracy. So if you ever need bright n sunny photo references of places like Bristol, Bath or Edinburgh, hit me up. Haven't really been to the British countryside yet, sadly. (Also, those are some well and truly shiny paintings; that lighting.)

(Also, those are some well and truly shiny paintings; that lighting.) As an actual Brit (well, person who lives in Britain), I feel like I should weigh in. =P Yes, we do get sunshine up here. Yes, even in Scotland (I actually live in the sunniest place in Scotland and it lives up to it). It all depends on where you go and what time of year you go. The thing about our weather is that it is changeable and mild: we don't get highs or lows, and the maritime climate means that you should be prepared for sunshine and rain on the same day. But sunshine here happens and happens relatively frequently. We're just coming off a two week heatwave which was just all sun, every day. The reason for the "Britain has rubbish weather" meme is no doubt, because the British are very anti-social, so talking about the weather is a good ice breaker, and people in this country just like to whinge a little. The weather is the best thing to whinge about. xD But to stay on-topic, Zoey, I have been loving your artwork and the lighting on the past two pictures especially. I look forward to seeing them all complete! \o/

So I must ask... Cactus Zevisi is part cactus, part... deer? Or at least, it looks to be based off deer. :o Either way, super cute! I'm looking forward to bringing her to life. :D I suppose in a way she's both cactus and deer, and at the same time neither of those things. XD Zevisi are fictional cervine creatures who are born from the power of ideas, dreams, feelings and thoughts within the dream realm. They shape themselves with that power - so some end up like #4 here and end up looking like a cactus. XD and thank you! :D I am excited to see the result.

I look forward to seeing them all complete! \o/ DO YOU REALLY HUNTY Yo I might have to hit you up. Maybe it's just the countryside that gets all the weird weather then XD But I also heard from a coworker who went to London in the middle of the summer last year that she stayed for like two weeks but couldn't go out much because it was raining all the time. Which just goes to show--always check the weather forecast before going on trips. Some British whinging ends up being ridiculously funny, though. Like that one guy who made a bunch of vines swearing about traffic over there. Thanks, guys! Yeah, the requests aren't being done very quickly because it's a long process of planning --> ignore for a few days --> sketch on watercolor paper --> ignore for up to a week --> start painting --> stop --> pull out all the stops to finally finish, but the good part is that I also like all the ones I've done so far (which is saying something), so I guess this is okay. XD (I've totally been on a shiny lighting kick, too, which ironically, involves more of "making the darks a lot darker" than lightening the rest of the painting LOL!)

Huntress's is done! Tried to scale down the people in comparison to the original to show that everything is ginormo, but alas... only the tree looks somewhat big. XD Also on the right side, you'll see a failed quetzlcoatlus... we can pretend it's part of the grass now XD (btw, I'm defaulting the pics to 800p wide for landscape mode and 4-500p wide for portrait mode because it displays better on the forums. If anyone wants a higher resolution of their finished work, just pm me.)

Which just goes to show--always check the weather forecast before going on trips. The weird part is that I'm yet to encounter rain in Britain xD I'm sure it does exist totally a conspiracy but I'm altogether the queen of bringing funky weather abroad. Last time we were in Portland, the entire week was mercilessly sunny and sweltering with 95+ weather. People would not shut up about it - not that I fault them, because if you get yourself sunburned in Oregon, you jolly well get to comment on that. So I'm also a good source of sunny Portland shots. and then I was going to say that no worries, I'm known to take a helluva long time on any requests, excepy HOLY HECKBISCUITS that painting @u@ That is one gorgeous painting. And Kathleen's giddiness comes across surprisingly well for how tiny she is. (also I might pretend that the quetzalcoatlus has camo patterning, because isn't that precisely what a big eldritch giraffebird needs?) Thank you! ^^

Late response but yes, Hunty, I, too, am quite happy with how giddy Kathleen looks in comparison to everything else Probably my favorite part of the painting (and totally not the rest of it). Camo queztlcoatlus it is! I am finally (FINALLYYYYYYYYY) done with Fraze 's shipscape request. God, there were so many hurdles to climb; for instance: 1. I have never drawn a shipscape. 2. Watercolors aren't exactly the easiest to use for interiors. 3. NEVER DRAWN A SHIPSCAPE 4. This would have been so much easier in digital where I can screen and overlay and multiply the heck out of everything 5. Did I mention I've never drawn a shipscape? 6. Yeah, it might be a problem. So after going through about a dozen sketches or so (that's another pile of sketch paper I was trying to burn through as well so HUZZAHHHH), a bunch of color tests, Googling the kebab out of the USS Enterprise (and Minecraft versions), and going through bouts of painting and ignoring painting for the past week or so, I decided to give up after I could Traditional No More and touched up the lighting, shadows, and colors digitally. I present to you this underwhelming piece: Hope you'll find something useful out of it, though, Fraze! I think I ended up channeling "air hanger space" or "warehouse" more than shipscape... LOL! (for anyone curious, here's some of the sketch pile:) (also don't mind my exuberance; this was a challenge I needed and at the end of the day, I can say that I have probably learned the most from doing this request LOL! Designing the space to all specifications was probably the most challenging part, and also fun) (also also I heard on the grapevine that an ice cream robot would be appreciated)

AAAAA
AAAAAAAAA
That is really really pretty, and the detail, and the lighting, and the feel, and and and
And the ice cream robot is kind of a hilarious interpretation of that particular character but I like it.
It's fine that you didn't try to make it look like a ship; in fact I like it more that way! It was never supposed to feel like the inside of a ship, because the ship itself is basically a small city. The feeling of open space and airiness is awesome, I think you understood what I was going for more than you thought you did.
Thank you so much!

My favourite bit is that the fans are on the roof in it, looking very similar to the Inspirational ones you guys showed me in Estonia. =D

Thanks, guys! I'm glad you like it, Fraze. ^.^ (also, re: the fans, to be honest, I feel like they won't be effective at anything but blowing air around at the very top levels. XD they make the place sort of homey though!) Celestial's is in progress now, but I most likely won't be able to post it until I get back from vacation after August 7th. Sit tight until then! Only two more to go.

Just a quick note that I am back from Alaska and will be resuming requests soon; I just need some time to catch my breath after ten days of wildnerness and no cell signal/Wifi and a horrendous overnight flight. I might even paint a few Alaskan landscapes first as well... feeling super inspired! XD

Celestial - The swahnes are done! (I hope you can see the arms of the one in the back XD) Onto the cacti! (And I'm also adding one last-minute request messaged to me right before I left--fortunately I had exactly one spare piece of watercolor paper!)

Zoey That is gorgeous!! The swans look amazing and you have captured the walls of the crater so well. It looks insanely serene and peaceful, even with that huge mountain looming over, which is perfect. That is definitely what my character's homeland looks like! Thank you so much, I adore it! <33 Well worth the wait. Edit: whoops, sorry for the misspelled tag. XD you're going to get notified for nothing but I needed to fix it.

Killix - It is done! I ended up taking this one into digital post-work as well, but it was mostly to add some luminosity/multiply layers to get the sunlight effect and darken the background because the original painting was kinda... flat. XD

ZoeyOooh, it's lovely! Thank you! Now I have a pretty desktop wallpaper for this new computer. 8D (and the other piece you did for me is still the desktop wallpaper on my old computer. They match! XD)
