"That thing come from the Corkitsit Home planet. They are very glad to be rid of it." Krallika watches it with interest. Huggort laughed a little. "I'd be stressed too if I were about to be lunch." Krallika shook her head. "No, I'm more of a naturalist, really. I like to see the animals acting as they were intended to by nature. Such wonderful development over so so very long... I appreciate then as they are. I have only trained one creature but that is for the safety of everyone here. My lovely still hunts like it should." She smiled. Silver can hear the sound of something opening beneath them. Some gate below the balcony more likely than not. The audience's attention is focused on that gate as something reaches out from it. It looks like a segmented branch, but that cannot be so as it is moving and extending out a three-toed foot towards the ground in the ring. The whole limb looks like the wood of the trees she saw outside. Another one follows it and she can get the sense that these limbs aren't reaching as much as lengthening. Segments slide from under each other and thin out as the front legs gingerly touch down on the top of the fence surrounding the ring. The forelegs pull the rest of the creature with them: It's torso was surprisingly small, taking up no less space than a minifridge might. The head was almost as large, however, and sat on a very thick neck that looked like what the legs might if they were not so long. Deep recesses in the face supposedly held eyes but Silver cannot see from her angle. The Jalgar in the audience back away from it, save for a veteran few. Krallika's attention is entirely on the creature. --- "Sounds like a mess out there. Ah, and don't worry about it." She waves a hand dismissively at the captain. "If you did, you might hate me anyway, so don't fret." She grins. Silver stared at the Ven, drawn to the bars to get a better look. "Wow." --- "A beautiful mess." Glyph insisted. She started guiding Grendel toward a wall, inside which a door appeared. "Thanks for the advanced warning." Captain replied with a raised eyebrow. "Isn't it perfect?" Krallika coos over it. The ven slowly regards the beast in the pit, who snarls at it. After a little contemplation the Ven freezes. It has fully climbed out onto the fence, head aimed right at the creature in the pit. It's snout slowly splits into four segments, which only causes more fear and backing up from the audience. Their reaction gives more reason to fear than the actions of the Ven itself. And then suddenly, it strikes. Its neck rapidly extends like a bullet onto the creature, mouth latching over the thing, not large enough to truly grab it, it seems, and there is certainly no way it could carry it. Any contemplation on the matter is cut off by the horrific scream that the beast in the ring makes as the sound of sizzling reaches the ears of all. It's a high pitched sizzle and after only a second or two Silver can see the flesh under the mouth of the Ven dissolving away rapidly under the duress of a greenish saliva and getting sucked up via an array of tubes. It takes only a minute for the entire rhinoceros-like creature to be nothing but a smoothie for the Ven's dining pleasure. The audience has since pulled in to watch. --- Grendel follows Glyph, and gives the captain a wink and a salute.

"Are unwelcome visitors frequent?" she asked, fiddling with the bracelet. --- Glyph laughed. The walls scanned Grendel and moved closer together. "Please hold still, the liquid will only go up to your neck." The door between Grendel and Glyph shut, and the tiny room filled up to Grendel's neck with a strange liquid that didn't really feel wet. It had strong surface tension and flowed around Grendel's body without engulfing it. Lasers began to dance along Grendel's form, hardening the 'jello' into an actual outfit. When it was done the remaining liquid drained away, the walls retreated, and the door between Grendel and Glyph opened again. Glyph giggled. "Ooh, that was fun! Full disclosure: I've been wanting to rent this place ever since it was built. And the Trallyr let me have you much faster than I was expecting, so now seemed like a good time! And Ira's old room was hardly adequate."

How did you find this place? How does a guest receive a special invite? Are they recommended by a member? Do members pay monthly fees? What do you do if a member stops paying?" She found she could easily imagin Krallika as the boss of exceptionally aggressive loan sharks. She looked back to the arena, wondering what was next. --- Glyph's excitement seemed a little damped by Grendel's lack of enthusiasm. "I can not tell you the name for security purposes. But I can tell you this place is an cybernetic synthetic lifeform. If you'd like, you can nickname it, and we'll call it by that name."

"It's a shame you feel that way. But perhaps I should have expected it. What, may I ask, is the reason for your concern?"

So, Grendel, were you, in your own opinion, wasted on that prison? Was that the best you could have possibly achieved?"

"If you even so much as loosen a bolt on my hands I will personally dismantle you. Don't think I can't." her ears remain back. "Wasted on the prison? Don't ask rhetorical questions, of course it was not the best way to spend my time, but it isn't like it was useless or without purpose.
