This is not Scrappy (or Jade for that matter, I don't believe), but we did get a board with some questions answered by another staff member (username hardtotame)
Daily Dare stuff:
Regarding giving away how to earn the avatar in future years:
Plot stuff:
Item fixes:
It's nice to have some communication from the India office. Half the time it seems like Scrappy and Jade don't have enough answers to satisfy people, so it's cool to get some info on what the India team is doing. Communication between the two teams can't be easy considering they are literally on opposite sides of the world. Also, this person seems really chill and receptive, and for what it's worth the tone on the board was upbeat and positive.

Sigh, too bad this person can't be our regular PR staffer who writes the editorial or news. (Though I get that their job is probably not writing and most likely on the coding side.) They provided enough info that was straightforward and helped answer questions and concerns. And they used proper punctuation and grammar with no typos or spelling issues. I never thought that'd be something I'd have to praise as being noteworthy.
And yeah, this person does seem really chill. 😊

Maybe it's Jade with normal language. Perhaps she read the comments and decided to take it from an 11 to a 4.

Hardtotame's forthrightness and professionalism is VERY much appreciated right now. And thank goodness, the editorial is a bit more down-to-earth this week too, with Scrappy back in the office.
No offense to Jade, I know she's doing her best, but her over-the-top squeeing persona sometimes gives me the queasy impression that she's perpetually one stressor away from chainsaw murder.

Well, now we know whodoneit if they ever do a sequel to the Ski Lodge Murder Mystery with the new staff.

Um... why? Like, shouldn't there be someone below the executive level, like a team leader? I mean, if the executive was so busy a site feature that had been ready FOR WEEKS isn't able to be done, I think you have a slight problem there.

Yeah, no offense either, we are aware of her great enthusiasm, but sometimes, it can be a bit too much.

If it's anything like my company, which is on the small side, the hierarchy isn't that big, and there might not be anyone between the aforementioned director/executive and the "team". Or there is. Either way, I'm guessing it's probably just the final internal review to make sure the executive approves of it, which, if it's anything like my company, can often take weeks just because the executive is overloaded with a bunch of other tasks. I'd take a gander that the executive they're referring to also oversees the company's other projects, like School of Dragons.

Also it's entirely possible that by 'executive' hardtotame just means 'manager'. Scrappy is the manager of Neopets, at least in terms of content, and we know she's been at least partially awol the last few weeks. Makes sense that she'd have to sign it off before release - perhaps she's even the one writing it.

I'd take a gander that the executive they're referring to also oversees the company's other projects, like School of Dragons. That's what I was thinking as well. It seems kinda silly, but I imagine there is someone at Jumpstart who has to okay all major projects like this to make sure that it's up to their standards - both JS's and NetDragon's - as well as not running afoul of Dreamworks and other business partners. And I agree that this person probably has other things to deal with; it's obvious that Neopets isn't really JS's top priority. We weren't Viacom's top priority either, but Viacom was a much larger company and they probably had an employee whose entire job was literally just reviewing Neopets-related things. More "growing" pains from going to a small parent company after experiencing a larger one.
Maybe I'm naive, but I don't think they were referring to Scrappy. They were fairly transparent and respectful with all of their other answers that blatantly lying about the person we're waiting on being Scrappy - calling her a male executive who was swamped with other work instead of a female content manager who we have good reason to believe works for Neopets full-time - would be... idk, jarring.

My various ventures to various boards have left me with the impression that the TNT under Jumpstart is pretty tiny, whereas the Viacom team was, for lack of a better term, bloated. Remember when every new NT issue had a bunch of custom-drawn images? Thems were the glory days, but those glory days meant that each of those custom images took up at least a few hours of some artist's time and was, presumably, paid for accordingly. So if that was something they were willing to do consistently among all the other stuff they worked on and added, it can't have been a very sustainable business model in the long run (else they wouldn't even have sold, I figure). But it also means that the new team has to be small enough to run it sustainably and big enough to get stuff done, while juggling this oversized behemoth of a site that got all of those resources poured into it for all this time. Which does sound like a recipe for multitasking and bottlenecking, and how Scrappy and Jade seem to be working on pretty much all user-generated contests and heck knows what else, whereas Droplet was solely the NT Editor.
