Well, at least we got confirmation on the CC avie.
Still going to keep asking my question on STC 800 and PC 2100.

Still no response to my question, I must continue asking.

Scrappy was on the Neoboards earlier tonight and responded to a few questions: Hmmm, and this week the Editorial was a bit more informative (which we'll get to). Coincidence? Do we know for sure if previously Scrappy was still answering Editorial questions or maybe it was Jade? If it was Jade, that would explain why recent Editorials haven't been that informative, I don't think she knows what's going on and probably doesn't ask any other staff member. So we're going to have Charity Corner in the middle of this plot? Why not save it until AFTER so we have something to do between this plot and the next major event (like Altador Cup, Daily Dare, or Games Master Challenge). Or did this delay throw the schedule off and that was the original plan meaning we only have a few weeks left of the plot (in that case what was the hold up)? I kind of want someone to ask her this question a few months later to see if her response says the same. That said, I give her credit for not marking out by saying Kaia. Now I actually asked a similar question earlier in the thread: How have the Battledome Surveys been going? Any hint on what your next plans may be? I don't really care about the results, but rather what they took from the results and what their plans are moving forward. Now I suppose if they are prioritizing whatever got the highest amount of votes seeing the results would answer this question. But since the questions were a whole batch of issues with some seemingly being unrelated (not to mention a few being glitches) I would imagine the prioritizing would a tad different from the results, the survey just gardening to see how much interests are in each topic. There's also all the additional comments and have any of those been taken into consideration like the return of Punchingbag Sid. NT #818 EDITORIAL:For anyone wondering, here is the merch there is so far: just a pin and key ring of a Blue Kougra, Yellow Kacheek, and Red Shoyru. Not that exciting of an array but hopefully with this confirmed to be official we'll see more in both Species and Colours they're available in (though with how easy these must be to make I'm surprised they don't have a set up where you could choose a Species plus Colour and they'll then make it; I (sadly) can't imagine them getting so much orders they have to pre-produce these). Or instead do popular Neopets characters so you don't have to worry about that if they need to be pre-produce. Also, they didn't come with rare item codes already? I know they don't have that many old TNT members still there but there is some, you'd think they'd at least ask them if there was anything involving the site interactivity when it came with the real life merch. Okay, so I think this confirms something happened instead of them being forgetful/lazy. And it must be a serious issue if Scrappy can only promise to update us with info next week instead of the next step. Well at least they have a batch of things planned for the upcoming months, though first we got to get through current plot going on. Oh, hey, I think this is the first confirmation they're trying to make a move to mobile! Though that said, while I can see Make Some Noise, Slushie Slinger, and Shootout Showdown being easily turned to mobile games, I'm having a hard time thinking how that'll work for Yooyuball. They'd have to make a new version of Yooyuball I think, I don't even want to think about the struggles you'd have to go through on a mobile phone to play the current version of Yooyuball. Two change I think they would have to do would be letting us see the whole field and remove auto switching players (and players moving around on their own would also be nice to have removed, or at least moving into positions where they'd conveniently available to switch too (staying near the goal if they're a Defender or positioning themselves near the opponent's goal if they're a Forward)).

Or did this delay throw the schedule off and that was the original plan meaning we only have a few weeks left of the plot (in that case what was the hold up)? Ooh, that's excellent news - because I'm still holding out hope that they'll tie Charity Corner to the plot somewhat and do a drive to get rid of the thousands upon thousands of crappy Battledome items. Charity Corner never had a definite time of being held (the first was a Christmas drive, the next a back-to-school drive and the third a vague flea market thing in February) so the fact that they're planning in now tells me that they might tie it into something that's currently going on, be it the plot or the pending Battledome overhauls. Now watch my hopes get cruelly dashed, but a girl can dream. And as someone who pokes around on mobile a whole lot, the vast majority of the site is already pretty decently mobile-friendly, being as simplistic as it is. The Battledome is a-okay on mobile. The main problem is text and button sizes of various pages and other such small piddlies, and of course all games but if those need to get un-Flashed anyway then it'd be a smart move to shift them to mobile versions at the same time.

They need to fix the navigation menus on mobile. If they want them to be hovers, the 'my account', 'customization', 'games' etc... headers shouldn't be clickable at all, especially because they link to things that are then linked to again in the drop-down menu. I hate having to browse on my phone specifically because I can never get to the boards, and there isn't anything - at the moment - worth doing from my phone besides chatting with my friends.

Yeah, navigating anywhere on mobile is utter pain because in addition to the topbar hover issues (which admittedly aren't unique to Neopets, I've seen that on otherwise perfectly okay mobile sites, whyyyy) the world maps and such are mostly in Flash. I browse by way of having a lengthy list of Chrome bookmarks directly to my various regular Neo pages; Chrome keeps them synchronized no matter what device you're on. Teknikally you can also get to the boards by tapping Community and then on Boards on that page (the vaguely British-looking Scorchio with a loudspeaker). Which I'll grant is a clunky workaround, but clunky workarounds is what we have until Neopets finally catches up to the modern demographic xD

Converting maps and games and stuff to HTML5 is a step in the right direction, for sure, (I love the idea of being able to play AC games on mobile) but how many people are going to want to go through the hassle of accessing them as it is? It just seems kinda odd to me to invest so much time into making things work on mobile, but they are so hard to access that most people won't try unless they have to. I was out of town for four days of Fiendish Formations, and I did it from my phone, but it was a pain. I just left the TWR page up rather than closing the tab so I wouldn't have to deal with navigating from the homepage.

My one gripe with mobile is WHY DO I HAVE TO RE-ENTER MY BIRTH DATE EVERY SINGLE TIME I LOG ONTO MOBILE?
I mean it's inconvenient enough that I can't be logged in on my PC and mobile at the same time. If I log onto one, it force logs me out on the other, and on mobile it tells me that I haven't logged in for a while and need to re-enter my birth date every. time.
To navigate Neo most of the time I just enter the keyword in on the address bar and I'll be able to pick out the correct link, so I have no use for the top navigation bar, but I agree, would be nice if mobile Neo was more navigation-friendly.

I just left the TWR page up rather than closing the tab so I wouldn't have to deal with navigating from the homepage. Nah, we're in agreement, just talking past each other xP As far as I can tell, the site isn't currently intended to work on mobile (nevermind that they really should've got on that a good five years ago). But the vast majority of it happens to work decently well on mobile all the same, owing to the fact that a lot of site content is the old foolproof format of images and text. The problem is all the stuff I-the-old-crone still think of as new content (the hover-topbar, new maps, the wheels, basically everything Flash) and that's probably the bulk of what they'll be working on to convert, but in the meantime it's a sort of happy accident that a lot of the site is decently mobile as-is. It's like they bet on the wrong horse some number of years ago and started making new content specifically with laptops in mind (the new gamesroom, the horizontal banner-style shopkeeper images, etc.) and it's taken them a while to adjust that direction and realize that mobile is the big platform these days. And yes, I only did the first and easiest Fiendish Formations on my phone on account of travelling, and it was a pain >> Precision was important in that game and tiny screens don't mesh with that. If it'd been released for mobile, it should've had a slightly different layout - come to think of it, it would've been nice if they'd specifically made it a mobile-friendly game and then it would've worked on PC all the same.

I actually like this rule change for the Beauty Contest as it stops lazy Neopians from reentering the same picture over and over again. It also stops would be thieves (although that can be circumvented)

Ah, thank goodness she acknowledged that about the BC! That’s been a problem going on for a while now where people will just collect trophies in the less popular categories with the same pic and nothing was being done. I think the regular BC competitors who actually make original art have been petitioning for change for a while now, which is probably how it got to be announced. I’m glad that effort paid off.
Now just to hope that it can be enforced well. I’m sure at least now that the rule is explicit, users won’t hesitate to report repeats, and there’ll be more obligation to answer those in a timely manner.

Can confirm, regular BCers have been petitioning this change for a while. I'm sure the change will have some hiccups at first, but I think TNT will get the hang of it. And yeah, users could always report repeat entries.
As for my opinion, I am 1000% for this change. I'm glad to see that trophy farming will be less of a problem now. (Also talked to some friends from the Art Chat and they are pretty much for the change, too. :3)

Wait, that wasn't already a rule?! It seems like one of the most obvious rules.

I wouldn’t doubt that it was a rule before, but enforcing it fell to such the wayside however long ago that repeat entries became kind of an expected (albeit annoying) thing. Dunno if the rule was written down anywhere, but if not (considering how Neo rules in general are kinda word-of-mouth) that’s probably how enforcing it became so lax.

Wait, that wasn't already a rule?! It seems like one of the most obvious rules. It was more of a loophole. I don't think they intended to allow people to enter the same image more than once, but the contest judge sees thousands of entries a week, they just might not notice. Especially when they're busy looking out for stolen art, inappropriate art, art that could fall afoul of copyright (let's be real, we all know a Uni owner who's been rejected from the BC because their image looks like MLP), etc... Similar to how when they first implemented the BC and encouraged asking people to vote, they didn't intend for people to spam every thread with their BC links. So once the BC got popular after the avatar, they changed the rule to disallow BC links outside of the Art Chat and guilds. (tangent, but I'm expecting the CC to be next now that there are two avatars for it)
