WARNING: CAPTCHA Bypass Hack

Word is going around that people are using a program or service that offers to bypass the CAPTCHA program on Neopets. It seems that using this service is resulting in accounts being compromised. Some sites are stating that the users of this service are being compromised, and we know that CAPTCHA is supposed to help protect accounts from being hacked by bots.

As a reminder, CAPTCHA is there to protect accounts from getting compromised, especially from bots. Many of our members have been victims of this in the past. Anyone posting links to, or offering information on, bypassing the CAPTCHA feature on Neopets will be dealt with swiftly.

I get the CAPTCHA are annoying if you just want to look up a Neofriend's UL but at the same time they're generally easy to do (though sometimes the picture ones are annoying, like the one that asks to tap the pictures that contains signs but I don't know whether that also mean the sign's post too). No reason to lose your account over using a 3rd party program from an untrusted source.

Maybe JS could make it so that you don't need to do CAPTCHAs for NeoFriends, like if you approved someone as your Neofriend I'm pretty sure you trust them not to be a bot. Or even just make not needing to do a CAPTCHA as a Loyal User Perk. My account is 15 years old, I'm pretty sure that proves I'm not a bot.

I could have sworn I read somewhere (I think on AV Club, not sure) but Google was going to get rid of CAPTCHAs for something that naturally ran in the background?

I notice that the Captchas get a lot easier if I happen to be logged into my gmail account.

Yeah, the Captcha for me is just 'click here to say you are an actual human.' xD
