So I just got this Neomail from TNT Is this real, or is someone messing with me? Huh. If it has the TNT icon and was sent from the TNT account it should be TNT who sent it. Although usually if they're concerned about a password they'll alert you from the sign-on page that your password isn't secure enough for whatever reason, with an image of the chia police. (I got this one for a while). I suppose it can't hurt to change your PW regardless, as long as you run a few scans for malware and spyware first. *Shrug*

Yeah, nothing came up in mal or spyware, so I guess it's safe, and it had the TNT icon.
Guess nothing wrong with being safe.

Okay, apparently a bunch of people on the boards got it. So....something is up.

Not everyone, though. I didn't get it and neither did a lot of other people who are popping on now. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to who got it and who didn't. Some people are getting it on sides they haven't logged into in days, others are getting it even though they just changed their passwords a few days ago. Something's weird. The wording alone - 'we strongly recommend you change your password immediately' - is bad enough
Hopefully they'll make an announcement about it either on the TNT board or in the news.

That is odd. I haven't gotten it either, but I'm only on my main. Haven't logged in to any of my sides in months. (And frankly I'm too lazy to check them, aha.) I am a little leery though, this is a weird way to go about things. Transparency if there's something wrong seems like a better approach.

Nothing in the news, and nothing on the TNT message board.

This right here is why people have problems with TNT.
I get it, they don't want our suggestions for content, they don't want to tell us what they're working on all the time, they would rather fix bugs quietly than spend hours talking about it. Fine, whatever. But if something big happens don't just send hokey little emails to half the playerbase.
If something's wrong, they quite literally owe it to us to say so considering the vast majority of us have inputted credit card/paypal information into the site for NC or Premium.

Maybe this has something to do with how some of you guys lost your accounts?

Maybe this has something to do with how some of you guys lost your accounts? I considered that, but my ticket is still unread, and none of my information looks to have changed.

Nothing on any of my accounts.
A guess (like literally just a wild shot in the dark here): there's been a breach and passwords from a certain date range are compromised?

I haven't gotten one. I had a weird thing happen a few months ago where my theme was changed (and it wasn't a Neopets "holiday" where everyone gets the special theme... it was changed back to the basic one) and I THINK my status was changed to stealth, because I don't remember doing that. But I changed my password, nothing else changed, nothing was taken, my pets were fine, etc. and I've been good since then. All that to say even though I had something "weird" happen, I didn't get the neomail.

There's been reports elsewhere that certain accounts got this message indicating they may be at risk.

Can they stop transmitting your password in cleartext? The login page doesn't have TLS (as in the url does not start with https://) and browsers are starting flag this as dangerous.
