Yes, there was a Korra one! Unfortunate you didn't get it... it was short and cute. charming thievery - I had gotten the Legend of Korra, Ghost in the Shell, and the DC comics compilation because I don't recall the last time I read anything of theirs. XD I'm honestly surprised--their comics are pretty good; unfortunate that their movies kinda tank though (I'm sorry DC fans don't kill me pls I still need to watch all the future superhero movies).

Syren Hmm, so now there are new magic power ups ("POWER UP AND ACCESSORIZE!"). The new costumes are cool, and it opens up the plot for more interesting challenges, but I'm still not quite sure how I feel about it. XD I really liked how Ladybug had such limited abilities, having to mainly to rely on her own creativity to solve situations. It was pretty unique for a superhero.
I suppose that they'll use these new powers sparingly, as the supply is limited. I really hope that magic food can't spoil. XD "Quick, we need ice powers, eat the macaron, Tikki!" "But it's moldyyyy D8"

I watched two more episodes last night: Timebreaker and Copycat. They were both really great! Probably the best I've seen so far, glad to see it's picking up (da'aww, poor Chat Noir at the end of Copycat, though!)
I felt really bad for Alex in Timebreaker (loved her evilised design, though!) Chloe is a horrible person. >.>
I was wondering about something though: are there any episodes where they change up the formula, or are all of them pretty much the same? =P

Welcome to the Miraculous side, Thorn ! 8D Yes, the formula does change occasionally; I don't remember when or how often it happens or in which episode it begins, but I've had moments of "oops, that didn't go as planned" - "oh no, how are they going to fix this now?" Most of the trope-subverting happens in season 2. The season 1 episodes tend to follow the usual Villain-of-the-Week, but there are a few tougher, more imaginative villains who stir things up. It's a bit like how Teen Titans alternates between serious plot episodes and goofy filler episodes. Hm, I've never listed my favourite season 1 episodes - maybe once you're done watching it. =o (Don't open the spoilerbox, Thorn.) (Don't do it.) SyrenTHIS IS THE EPISODE IN WHICH ADRIEN FOLLOWS A FLOATING, SINGING DIRTY SOCK WHILE READING IT ALLURING DESCRIPTIONS OF FANCY CHEESES, and that is all anyone needs to know about this episode, thanks for your attention. Agreed with Killix on the new power-ups, I am a big fan of Ladybug's creativity and problem-solving approach too. D: Cool New Accessories usually make me bristle because I assume they're a way to sell more toys. Well, at least the powers have only allowed the heroes to access a different environment for now, and Ladybug still had to cook up an elaborate trap. Also, the designs do look neat - the scale pattern on Ladybug's suit really got me, dangit! - and they don't make the transformation sequence super long. :'D Yay for plot continuity (Rena Rouge!) and lore, and casually including Marinette's bakery background into the magic power-ups. Keeping the power-up recipe secret from the kwami to protect them is a nice excuse to explain why Tikki couldn't teach Marinette about power-ups earlier in the show. >.> I'm also glad that the kwami have a little something to do instead of just looking cute like a lot of magical girl pets. YAY for Marinette deciding to let Chat meet Master Fu, because I was getting worried that Adrien's frustration would lead to betrayal and sadness. D: I'm not personally impressed by the villain in this episode, guess I'm not in the target audience for her kind of crush story. xD She's very cute, though, as a human and mermaid - those freckles!! Kim's character remains consistent. Papimoth's plan wasn't very elaborate this time. "Step 1: akumatise sad pool girl. Step 2: flood entire city Step 3: ? ? ? ? ? Step 4: Gain Miraculouses." Papimoth hints, again, that he'll be going after Master Fu, and I DO NOT LIKE IT, leave the cool elders alone! 8C (Papimoth had already hinted that at the end of the episode in which Rena Rouge is introduced.) Ah well, maybe that will lead to the new turtle hero (whose identity is toootally secret!!1!) getting to borrow Master Fu's Miraculous. Important Question!! Master Fu knew to put Plagg's potions in camembert slices? How well are they acquainted?? Do they have an ancient piece of lore, passed down generations of guardians, that reminds them that the Cat kwami is powered by stinky cheese??

I opened it but then closed it immediately without reading. xP I am a rebel!
It's cool to know stuff gets changed up later, though. Villain of the Week is cool for now, but might start getting repetitive after a while.

Thorn Tagging onto Liou's reply to agree that the formula does indeed get changed up a few times as the season progresses! There'll always be at least one villain per episode for the season, but the way things usually get stirred up I've noticed is when villains go beyond the usual "punch/throw my powers at LB and Chat." The more creative powers and motivations can lead to equally more interesting battle dynamics. It's also the who that can really make the villain interesting, I've found, as well as the why. That's one thing I like about the show, that the villains LB and Chat actually fight face to face are normally friends and family, and that fact compounded with their struggle to keep their secret identities can lead to some fun and dramatic character development :3 With that being said, though, season 2 is indeed where things get switched up even more, and season 1 is usually a bit more traditional in its formula. There's still a number of episodes in season 1 that can get =O, but rest assured at least that if season 1 does get you impatient at any point, if you're still wanting to stick with it season 2 levels things up on... really most every front x3

I am excited! One of my favourite shows (Trollhunters, actually!) gets a new season in a few days, but besides that I'll focus on getting through the first season of Miraculous, and then look for a way to continue from there.
Had a busy day yesterday so didn't watch any more of the show, but I probably will tonight (got the next three evenings off.)

SyrenImportant Question!! Master Fu knew to put Plagg's potions in camembert slices? How well are they acquainted?? Do they have an ancient piece of lore, passed down generations of guardians, that reminds them that the Cat kwami is powered by stinky cheese?? What I assumed was that Master Fu has been doing this for a really long time and probably knows them from the past Miraculouseseses holders. Either that or they skipped the scene where Master Fu cooked up the stuff right in front of them after asking Plagg what he preferred to eat. But I like to think that Master Fu already knows every little thing about him. XD "By the way, Adrien, if you tickle him right under his right armpit he'll explode into perfect little camemberts."

About to watch the new Ladybug episode! Episodes? I saw a S2E15 out... Anyway...I just noticed the Art Director's name in the opening credits - was Nathanael named after him?? Same spelling, and the character is very artistic... Syren: (real time reactions, then edited to add more structure to my comments) Oh, so Alya's back as Rena Rouge? Okay, I'm enjoying this secret, unrequited little crush subplot! Their game of secrets is really cute. :3 And after her transformation, I love how she just wants to find Kim and is so excited to share this whole experience with him. Also, the ending with Kim asking her to the movies is really sweet! I'm glad he's not clueless about his friend's feelings the way a certain other guy we know is... I like that Chat's speaking up about being left in the dark regarding Rena's identity and how that inadvertently leads to Master Fu being mentioned...I really like where this is going. I'm glad they're pushing some Ladybug/Chat relationship development in that direction. Holy crap, are we actually getting more info about the kwamis and their powers? Ooh, we ARE! I honestly can't wait to see what the other powers are...Does this mean the next plot episode might have to do with ice? *wink* OMG ADRIEN I LOVE THAT YOU'RE PLAYING WITH ACTION FIGURES LOL!! XD And ooohh, someone's bitter. Not that I blame him though - it is rather unfair. I want Chat Noir to get more appreciation! :/ Ahahaha, so he's bribing Plagg for answers??? Okay, I think this is my favorite Adrien moment, lol. Aqua Tikki! ^^ (Is this why I saw fanart of an Aqua Plagg (but in human form)?? Hey, wait, we didn't actually get to see Aqua Plagg. *sad face*) I quite like Ladybug's underwater costume. Aww, what a sweet Plagg and Adrien moment! ^^ Adrien finally gets to meet Master Fu! Yay for plot developments! But I...I want to see the scene where Master Fu is explaining everything to Adrien... Though I'm a bit nervous about how suspicious Adrien's dad is when he sees Master Fu. It's now confirmed to him that miraculous holders/kwamis have additional powers, and that can't be good. (Poor Nooroo! D:) They're slowly building up plot developments, and I really appreciate the slow burn with the intrigue and story - it leaves you wanting more, and it's like, yes, there actually is more to this show than a villain-of-the-week formula! It's almost unexpected how deep this story seems to be getting, since at the surface, especially the first season, it just seems like a cute, fun, kinda cheesy superhero show for kids. The payoff is going to be amazing, I can just feel it. Lastly...Magical macaroons! And HAHAHAHAHAHA MAGICAL CHEESE! xD Episode 14, Syren Yo I am digging Marinette's mermaid design. Good job, costume designer Also mermaid Plagg is so adorable and I want one. @.@ Wait, wait, you mean we DID get to see mermaid Plagg?? UGH WHY DIDN'T I NOTICE?? Dx Frightningale: OH SHOOT. I kinda guessed Clara's Chat Noir would be Adrien, but having Adrien's dad forcing him to play the role...Like, I see the costume they have and then imagine Adrien wearing it (it's so hard to do, I know), and I'm like, THIS IS BAD. He'll look exactly like Chat because DUH! He *is* Chat! (Thank you, Captain Obvious!) Very bad for trying to keep his identity a secret! I love how Plagg is getting more screen time and more to say, lol. (He thinks the bell is ridiculous! XD) "No way! People are blind!" So true though. Especially a certain two people... "Now I'm gonna try to act as lame as I possibly can." But that's exactly how Chat acts! Hahahaha. It'll be even more of a giveaway! xD Ooohhh, girl, is your crush on Adrien going to trump your responsibilities?? But nah, I bet Marinette's declining Clara's request is what makes Clara get akumatized. NEVERMIND. OF COURSE super-fan Chloe has to show up. How could I think Marinette would akumatize anyone when there's Chloe?? But wow, her gymnastics skills are amazing! OMG MARINETTE, NO!! (But YES! The plot thickens! LOL) Is it really necessary for Hawk Moth to speak in rhymes too? I honestly think we need to count improvised rhyming as another talent of Marinette and Adrien. Girl, did you just call Adrien lame? LOL. (Oh, HO, she's dancing with both Adrien and Luka?? I like how they switched masks though. :3) UGH, does this mean we're even further away from those two realizing who the other is? -__- Since they both say the other doesn't look a thing like their superhero counterparts...

Season 2, Episode 15 - Frightningale So this one was interesting -- Adrien and Ladybug attempting to uh... pretend to be their alter egos? XD I find it ironic that wearing the costume but NOT PUTTING ON THE MASK was the one thing separating them from having their true identities revealed. And Plagg plays it off as "bah, people are blind".
But I guess it could be worse. XD Clark Kent is literally Superman with glasses, so...
Also, what's the Chloe akumatization count now? Like, 70? I feel like if her father weren't the mayor of Paris they'd probably have thrown her out by now LOL!

Splitting my previous post in two since it was getting long... charming thievery - I had gotten the Legend of Korra, Ghost in the Shell, and the DC comics compilation because I don't recall the last time I read anything of theirs. XD I'm honestly surprised--their comics are pretty good; unfortunate that their movies kinda tank though (I'm sorry DC fans don't kill me pls I still need to watch all the future superhero movies). (Spoilered because length.) I haven't read a lot of DC comics (except some Batman and Teen Titans back in high school - I stopped reading Batman after I stumbled upon The Killing Joke...it scarred me for life. D:), but I don't doubt their comics are good. I kinda feel like DC comics were more popular than Marvel before the MCU became a thing (I mean, I was FAR more familiar with DC superheroes than with Marvel's. Like, who the heck are the Avengers?? Ironman? Who's that?). And yeah, it's really unfortunate about their movies...they're trying so hard to compete with/catch up to Marvel, and you can tell. I will say DC does better with their animated shows and tv series (and animated movies from what I've heard from friends - I can't confirm myself having never watched any). Like, I haven't really seen any DC movies except Wonder Woman, and I wasn't impressed. And by the time DC finally got in the game, I was already moving out of my superhero phase. Except for cartoon superheroes, like Ladybug and Chat Noir! (I've brought it back on topic! xD) charming thievery Thanks! =) I'll see if I can find somewhere to watch s2 after s1. The Netflix episodes are out of order according to the list on wikipedia, which is a bit weird. It had The Bubbler first up. And I do indeed! The store sells other things too (I work with the merchandise- like t-shirts and action figures and all that good stuff), but it's primarily a comic store. Sometimes people ask me about Miraculous, which is part of the reason I wanted to watch it- I like being able to connect with customers and their interests, and it's just a bonus that I actually really like the show! (Same reason as above.) Yeah, the order of the episodes is really confusing sometimes...I'm not even sure what the true order is supposed to be...Plus, when I started watching Ladybug, I wasn't watching it in order purposely...I hadn't intended to get sucked into the show - I had seen fanart that piqued my interest, and when I found out it was a show, I had to look it up! When I found out about the love situation, I knew I had to watch it! But I was just seeking out episodes that had progress there (still wasn't planning to watch it entirely) so I skipped around a lot before I realized I actually really liked the show, lol. It had been sooooo cheesy though, I definitely hadn't intended to watch the whole series, least of all keep up with it religiously. xD Oh, hey, that's super cool! Seems like a lot of fun, especially since you like talking to customers about their fandoms. Wow, so people would mention Miraculous to you? Does your store sell Ladybug stuff/comics? I wish my preferred comic book store did...but oh, well!

Frightningale "IN THE DAY TIME, I'M MARINETTE" Welp, there goes that secret. (I was surprised to hear this clip used! XD I have a custom/fanmade version of the theme song that is awesome and splices "It's Ladybug" with the "Miraculous" chorus and I always forget that isn't the actual theme song XD If anyone wants it, I'll see if I can find the link again. EDIT: Wewt, found it!)

charming thievery and Thorn , if you have any doubts about the episodes' order, the Wikipedia list seems to have got them right. There's also the Miraculous fandom wikia thingy, but it updates less consistently. About Syren, I completely forgot to mention: Aquatic-mode LadyChat seem to keep their swim fins when they emerge back onto land / rooftops. Have you ever tried to walk in swim fins? You can't walk in swim fins. You have to walk backwards. Either LadyChat's fins are made of phlebotinum that makes them practically immaterial when they're not in water, or we missed out on seeing the heroes waddle backwards. Frightningale@ The show's creators: if you put handcuffs on your fourteen-year-old characters whose pseudo-'ship is the pillar of the show, do NOT be surprised when you run into fanfiction that makes you want to bleach your eyes one day. s(o.o)z
Marinette has been Noticed by Nightingale-senpai.
Aaww look at that adorable moment between Marinette and Tikki, and that adorable huggle Marinette's friends give her when she chooses them over Aaayyydrien.
Wait, that's the first time we've seen the heroes without their masks, in a way! They look adorable - is it just me? I can't decide which hairstyle I prefer on Adrien.
Clara/Laura Nightingale is a total guaranteed pure cutie pie who has snatched my heart. Also, she seems so gay? She just bombards me with gay vibes. °u° <3
Woah! Chloe actually has skills! I find it weird that was never revealed earlier, she seems like the type who would prance and somersault everywhere to show off, you know? Maybe she wasn't confident enough in her gymnast skills earlier? No really, that's intriguing! Thoughts, everyone?
Chloe's acrobatic skills in a hero costume are thickening the foreshadowing for, well, yeah. More important foreshadowing: did you catch that the Mayor literally refers to Chloe's mum as a queen? Makes me wonder if she's really royalty. That's a casual little foreshadowing-reminder for the upcoming queen-themed trilogy of episodes. Also, Chloe is in touch with her mum? Hm, surprising, but they still seem to be very distant.
This villain's powers are relatively weak this week. Nice excuse to have LadyChat act dorky while battling, I guess. xD First time Ladybug has asked politely for a villain's Akuma! I like it. The handcuff'd battling scene seemed right out of a video game - like a special battle mode that can be unlocked.
I love Frightningale's colour scheme! (Even though she's a bit of a S-Squad-Harley-Quinn expy.) The villain designs don't always reflect Agreste's fashion design skills enough, so I'm always pleased when there's a neat costume.
Marinette and Adrien seem more hopeless than ever at the end. Not only by being ridiculously blind to secret identities, but also because Adrien admits that Marinette is unlike his crush.

Not a lot to say right now- I've watched a few more episodes but they've all kind of blurred together! Still enjoying them though. I loved Evillustrator and Rogercop, they felt more...human?...than the other villains. The flaws Hawk Moth was playing on were very clear, and it was easy to understand how they would so easily fall victim to him, and I like that a lot. Still hate Chloe SO MUCH. What a brat. charming thievery We do indeed sell the comics! We ship internationally too (from the UK), but I imagine that would cost more than than ordering them within your own country. People have asked me a couple times about the POP! figures, which have not even been released yet as far as I know (although I'm going to mention them in the next round of staff product suggestions.) I just tell them the only Miraculous products we have are, sadly, the comics.
