Nah, we're just having a friendly debate. Besides during the day there's nothing else to really talk about as most of our discussion of that days "Adopt A Neopian" items happen at the turn of the day. And it's not getting the wrong answer which is the problem, it's that getting a wrong answer may mean you then have to get an item which costs several thousand NP if not being outright unbuyable for most of the day. That's the part which does get a bit on my nerve and how TNT didn't foresee this being what happened during The Coincidence (even if TNT planned this Event during that time, they still had plenty of time to change things to prevent this from happening again). Well if you wait around midnight usually the resellers start putting them onto the Shop Wizard trying to do a last minute sell. Okay, but I'm going to have to stop doing this. Neo midnight is a horrible time for me, and waiting for it is starting to really mess up my day life xp Just stupid stuff I do because I'm sleep deprived, most of the damage is because this stuff angers the people around me avatar or not, rl is more important, even if it is less fun most of the time Sadly the resellers have made it so that if you want to complete the challenge and don't want to spend a fortune you kind of have to wait till midnight and try to snag all the items (or at least the ones which will go up in price). However if it's affecting your health I would suggest not doing it. Real life above Neopets, always. That said maybe you just need to skip out on a day or two to recharge properly, you only need 8 days now and I have a feeling that as the days go on the resellers rushing to buy one or two of the items and making it unbuyable will decrease, especially after Day 9 when most people have completed all 8 of their "required" requests. The prizes aren't proving to be worth anything special either, many are selling for much less than the items you need to buy to get it (after reseller inflation). So don't feel you need to keep staying up, you have plenty of wiggle room. Infact we're on Day 6 going to Day 7 so we're less than 3 days away (Tuesday would be the 9th day). And also, there will always be another Event later down the line (hopefully one better than this).

Had to buy like 5 wooden shields before getting the right one, lol. However they were all just a few NP so no big loss. Looking at prices for all the items 20 past midnight, it looks like today might be a cheap day. Crustygums and Wocky T-Shirt will cost you a few NP, but overall they're not unbuyable. And just for fun, here are the wooden shields I bought: Wooden Shield Rustic Wooden Shield Basic Wooden Shield (I know it's over 1k, but I was trying to figure out what wooden shield they wanted. Luckily the person I bought this from also had the right shield where I could see it so it wasn't a total loss) Wooden Blocking Shield

I managed to obtain 2 for 500 NP each after I started clicking at the last seller listed on my shop wiz results since the item would be gone from every other shop as soon as the page loaded. I have a bunch of Crustygums for who ever needs him, and one Wocky T-shirt. I probably also have spare Gorunda the Wise, Neopian Times Issue 3, and Wooden Blocking Shields laying around, but I'll have to check sides.

Yeah, as far as Crustygums goes, I think it's like "OMG MASSIVE RESELL HYPEEEE" almost immediately followed by "wait, almost everyone has like 50 of these from the Battleground events". Where exactly is the Wocky T-shirt available from, though, anyways?

Ugh I had all but the T-shirt because of course I didn't have that one. Played Kiko Pop, didn't get it. Now I guess I'll try RSing at Clothes for it.

I'll try and find a Wocky T-Shirt. That's the only thing left I need for today.

I'm giving up on today's. I've never seen any of those T-shirts, and they don't seem to be given out by any daily! What were they thinking? The bait of the avatar isn't strong enough to make me do something that's no fun for me.
I still can't decide whether to keep discarding junk items or to begin hoarding them like crazy. What's the true purpose of this event? I bet meepits are behind it.

TNT's goal was to get rid of extra items on the server = me having started hoarding said extra items. Yeah, while I'm sure a lot of items have been purged from the site, from my end my SDB have more than doubled in size, possible tripled.

If you think about it, in a way, this kind of balances out how all of the dailies introduced lately have been devaluing a lot of once-expensive items. For every person who spent a fortune on an item only to have it become a daily prize, there's likely someone who had a bunch of hoarded junk items who's now making a fortune. There are likely also people that have had both happen to them.
And I highly doubt TNT suddenly became stupid about how their own website's economy works. The fact that there's been a trend of one item for each day being more difficult to obtain than the others tells me that this was premeditated. I see nothing wrong with them making us work for our prizes.
Just my two cents on the matter. I'm enjoying this event, not so much in a "this is the most fun thing I've ever done on the site" way but in a "well, this is new and interesting" way.

Ooh yep, all those changes in the neoconomy might be interesting in the future! I'll just sit and let everyone else do the actual struggling and all the waiting and refreshing, though. >_> Restockers are amazing forces of nature.

... That being said, anybody have a spare t-shirt? <.< None of the TP lots have a price listed--I don't want to be rude and under-offer, but that's hard when I have no idea what a reasonable amount is.In the meantime, I'll be camping out at the clothing store.Got it! Thanks, Ziporen!

I'm enjoying this event, not so much in a "this is the most fun thing I've ever done on the site" way but in a "well, this is new and interesting" way. I had the same thought. It seems like a pretty big coincidence that there's exactly one especially difficult item asked for each day. Speaking of coincidences, this event seems specifically designed so as to solve the main problems of the Coincidence plot. In that, there was a single pool of items that was in use throughout the entire event (with another batch added later), and any of those items could have been asked for at any given time. This meant that those and only those items got inflated in price; and furthermore, people who couldn't complete one step were completely locked out of the remainder of the event. Here, the Charity Corner has two separate portions: 1) The Toy Drive, which has a MUCH larger pool of items than the Coincidence plot, thus mostly solving the inflation problem (and allowing people who are less willing/able to spend NP to use toys with rarity<90). 2) Adopt-A-Neopian, which is nearly the same as the item drive that we had in the Coincidence, except that failing to complete one part does not automatically lock a player out from the rest of the event. These solutions haven't been perfect for everyone, but I think it's been much more successful than the Coincidence. And as a few people have said, this is meant to be an event that caters to the hoarders/spenders, just as wars cater to the battledomers, and puzzle plots cater to the gamers. And very broadly, those are pretty much the three main ways of playing Neopets in the first place.
