I did up a pretty complicated animated GIF that I managed to reduce to 4.7MB. (Yeah I know I'm terrible.)
But it won't upload. 8D I keep getting an error saying;
...Anyone have any suggestions?

Go into your file system, either "Get Info" or "Rename" (Mac or PC respectively), click the current file extension part of it, and type in GIF instead of gif. (It's encoded exactly the same way other than that, so it doesn't break anything.) |

I submitted my entry yesterday... but I don't think it is all that amazing. Anyway, I'm absurdly excited about this contest... Hope I could get at least a trophy! I'm really curious about all your entries. I wish we could share them to exchange opinions. But I guess waiting until the results are published is still the best option. So intrigued!  |

Go into your file system, either "Get Info" or "Rename" (PC or Mac respectively), click the current file extension part of it, and type in GIF instead of gif. (It's encoded exactly the same way other than that, so it doesn't break anything.) Thanks Coaster, but I just received the same error saying it was now in GIF format, heh. Ah well. Maybe I'll just have to forgo. And I'm curious too; honestly, with such high competition, there's bound to be some phenomenal works. (Much better than my GIF looking straight from the 90s especially with all the compression I had to do. ) |

Hehe, good luck Oliver! And everyone else!  Got mine submitted but I had to reduce the filesize to under 900KB... The quality sucks and it's thumbnail size but I threw the version I originally wished to submit on a petpage and mentioned it in the box. We'll see what happens, hmm? |

I was just checking out the winning entries, and I was a little sad I didn't recognize any of the usernames, but I'm glad some of you guys got 3rd! =D Congrats to all the winners! Aww, I'm sorry to hear that, doctortomoe D: That's really disappointing! I'm actually kinda wondering why they picked 198 3rd place winners instead of rounding up to 200. I was actually hoping it was because they had made everyone a winner for this last contest, but I guess not. |
