I feel bad for never really entering. Although, there weren't a lot of things I felt like I had the capabilities to enter most of the ones that I had seen. One thing is for certain though. Everyone and their mom is gonna try to enter this last one to get the avatar/trophy.

I'm sad to see it go, but almost never entered given that my time and crafting/artistic skills were next to nil. I always wished that, given its name, they'd do contests with a bit more variety than sticking largely to crafting contests. There were some creative writing contests early on that were able to distinguish themselves from poetry, storytelling, et al., that would have been nice had they been used more regularly. And more recently they had that contest where you had to guess the right number...things like that are truly random yet they didn't branch that far out often enough, in my opinion. Can't do that every week, I know, but I wish they'd been a little more diverse than what it ended up being.

Given the circumstances of its closing, I vote they hold an annual random contest every March 3rd.

Okay, I went out and found my old binder of Neopets TCG cards. I may not be able to draw, but I can sure as hell make a funny image with this collection! I even have some nice mainstays like Dr. Sloth in card form.

And I'm sure there are some places on the site which use the word "Skill". Two I can find is for Neoquest and the Ye Old Fishing Vortex. So yeah, they probably should add "skill" and at least "seaweed" on list of exceptions. |

That's sad to see something so old close down for good like that, though I'm not surprised considering the nature of the contest.  I agree that hopefully there's something somewhat similar they could replace it with, but I'm not getting my hopes up about that. There was a lot of really cool stuff (and, admittedly, some stuff that was so bad that it made me laugh even though it got second place...). It's a lot of fun going through the old pages. Oh well. RIP Random Contest. |

Alright, I actually went out and bought a sketchbook and a set of 72 colored pencils for this. I have no idea how I'm going to upload anything but I'll take this a step at a time.

I'm entering as well and I'm pretty happy with the idea I came up with. Got the lineart and flats done on most of the characters, need to do the lines and flats of the background and then maybe I'll do shading. |

I'm so glad of the couple of times I submitted to the RC when looking at the pictures of past entries I never actually submitted. Apparently I didn't think they were good enough. Once I actually did submit though, it was more rewarding than I expected.
I think I'm going to sit this last round out, though, as I don't have the proper resources or ideas, and it sounds like plenty of others are committed to it. Good luck!

Okay, looking at the size of the notebook page and the size of the TCG cards, I figure I can fit 4 character cards, and maybe 1 or 2 item cards into the image. I have the following Characters:
Morris, Morguss, The Meerca Brothers, Dr. Sloth, Gorix, Ylana Skyfire, Commander Gormos, Cylara, S950 Kreludan Defender, Sophix II, Archos, Sasha the Dancer, Mr. Krawley, Xantan and Anubits.

I never got around to participating in the RC. That makes me a little sad. I had a sweet idea for the Heroes and Villains contest, but I was just too busy with my real life and other Neopets stuff. So I've decided to give it a try, even if I know this last round will be a tough one.
I started drawing a little scene based on a past adventure of one of my own pets. I think it looks fun enough to inspire a caption contest (but I don't think it will be among the best entries ^^u).
