*shifty eyes* Er, even though we haven't decided on a new date, I'm already typing up a series, using some original characters. The idea appeared yesterday.

Dunno if I'd be able to come up with a story centering around Brightvale University specifically. But I've been working on a series in my Moltara saga for a while, which is a sequel to an earlier one. In the previous series, one of the characters mentions that he's from the "Brightvale Institute of Botany." (Keep in mind that this was over a year ago, well before the Editorial response that's inspiring this collab) Said character also happens to be a Seeker* and he does play a big role in the in-progress series, so perhaps I could try to get it done in time for this? * : ...But was revealed that he's actually a spy for the Sway.

Pffff, this would be great. Kristykimmy is technically a wanted criminal in Brightvale, got her degree from a (obviously not part of the official canon) university in Neopia Central, and in general likes messing with Hagan. Kristy in disguise messing with Hagan at the university would make a great MoaNTR, and since I've only ever mentioned my being a wanted criminal and mischief maker in passing, it would finally allow all of that out. XD

Universities tend to have a lot of separate names for particular research groups on campus, anyways, so I wouldn't be surprised if the Institute of Botany was just the botany-researching professors at the university. >_> Personally, if we were to do a university-themed issue (and if I participate this time), I'd prefer sometime around the end of August so that there's enough time to get all the things ready, so that we don't get great collab burnout, and so that it fits better with the theme.

I've dug up an old series idea I had. It would not be centered on Brightvale University, but I have a character who mentions he went to a University, so I can make it Brightvale. Idk if it will be done in time (I'm so slow at writing series, and it's been ages since I've written one), but we'll see.

I want to submit my series "Pebble Seekers" for this issue, I should hopefully be finished by November. I'm only three sentences into it so far.

It looks like November is going to be our target month, so you have some time to bounce ideas around and tinker.

I voted November, because a lot of schools have some sort of reading week or Thanksgiving break during that month. Would be a great way to de-stress before/after exams. I think I may do a short story. No definite plan yet, but 3-4 months should be enough to write a story

If we do November, I think I'm in! That will give me time to get my current writing assignment for church done (Which I haven't even started and is due at the end of this month... Good thing I work best under pressure!) and plenty of time to brainstorm. As I posted in the other thread, I'm thinking do something like this, but related to Neopets... Study? I Don't Need to Study. If that doesn't work, I've got another idea brewing that might work. Basically the university from a Professor's POV... Talking about all the stupid answers he gets, all the stupid questions he has to answer, and looking forward to the Day of Giving break... Something like that. I still wonder if I should try to get something else submitted to the Times first, or whether I should make my first go at it something for this collab.

Looks like November is our month.
We said that the first week of November might be best, right?
How does the 7th of November sound for everyone?

I'm in I have a vague idea that is somewhat continued from my story for the heroes issue actually. I think it would revolve around one of the first classes being taught at the school or something.

Since this collab is less about specific characters and more about the university theme, I think I'm going to organize things by submissions section (so article, comic, short, series).
The JCW's submissions deadline is going to be October 4th, around a month prior to the November 7th issue.
Just pm me or post here what you are going to do (if you have an idea of characters or topic, let me know and I'll post that too).
