Been a while since I've done a proper art dump~ Most recent piece is a commission I did for Strider of his Xweetok, Miraja :3 I also did a redesign of one of my Neo characters, Juniper the Fire Faerie: Now to do a full body reference of her girlfriend (and to also find a name for her >>) As I continue writing and creating for my Neo comic, I keep getting hit with ideas for a side story where they vacation at Mystery Island. At this point, with the scripts I've written, I know they're gonna turn into future comics, and in the meantime I've been having fun drawing scene ideas for it lol. Another part of Neo that gives me inspiration are all the pretty customizations; I don't so much care as actually dressing up my pets as I do drawing them in the outfits. Unfortunately I spend more time dreaming about drawing them than actually doing so lol, but I did make this sketch of a flower outfit for Zathandria: This piece was made while toying with an idea I have but haven't explored in depth. Sometimes I think about if Jonathon wonders what life would be like had he grown up in Altador, and if he can truly call himself Altadorian if he knows little about the culture now. I don't really consider this piece done, but I'm also not sure how to expand on it. Were I to pick this up again, I'd probably just remake it as there's a number of its parts I don't care for now. And here's some sketches I've recently made that'll probably stay in this form, but I like how they turned out:  Studies of Ariana Grande and Alessia Cara  Sketching characters from Lore Olympus  Kiss~  Fenny Vail! I didn't know she existed until this AC season, and now I'm in love <3  Twillie in a cute dress, I like drawing her now and then in a fancier outfit x3 |

Hnn... I'm just going to post some thoughts, even if it's not in order of when I saw it, or all-inclusive.
The duality of Jonathon's differing timelines and how he would have been in different worlds, that piece, I was actually thinking about it the other day. Wondering specifically how neat it would be to have a whole series like that, or at least one of Twillie in her current life in Terror Mountain, as opposed to what she would have been like in Shenkuu. Maybe just an excuse to see Twillie in pretty Shenkuu garb, but that was half the fun of the Jonathon piece anyway.
I've been keeping along with your comics, and it's a lot of fun to see them fully realized, and to also spot where things changed since your shared your scripts with me.
I like how you've been directing people to Zath's petpage, since I did something similar with Ink. And the page itself is very nicely done.
July 4th update - Hm, I hope that compresses okay, if it doesn't though, I could easily see the comic broken in two, there's a good breakpoint after "You sure this place is safe?" and before "Yeah, don't mind the signs." Also, after the last panel, I feel like maybe the signature and petpage link would go better if it were a black background with white text, though I'd have to see it to know for sure.
And magic Zath is is pretty! We knew this already, but it's still great to see.

charming thievery Strider Thank you both! ^^ And thanks Strider, I should be open for commissions next month as well, so I look forward to it :3 June Scarlet It is an interesting thing to think about, there are a few AU ideas I've toyed with based off of it! And with Jonathon specifically, the more I've thought about it, the more I realized there's potential for a canon story after the main Blossoms plot that explores his past more. Twillie's different in that she actually did grow up in Shenkuu and moved to Terror Mountain after becoming an adult, so pretty Shenkuu outfits could become a reality =D Haha, I'm sure it was especially interesting seeing the big script change to the July 4th update xD That intro with Twillie was originally a separate comic idea I was considering for the next arc, but I figured time-wise it'd make more sense here. With yesterday's update, honestly not the one I'm most worried about compression-wise, but I'll have to check later how much trouble it gives me. Since it was originally two comic ideas to begin with, splitting it would be a good alternative! Black background and white text is something I'll try out as well for that one, agreed it might look better!

I noticed that I haven't done much creative stuff lately, which is unfortunate as this has compromised a number of plans I've had to stay on the creativity train. I've made plans to get back on track now that I've gotten a handle on my work schedule a little more, but in the meantime here's the presentable scraps of what I've made lately lol. Twillie looking intrigued at something: Jonathon... with facial hair (this is something I've tried to draw before out of curiosity of how it'd look, but this is the first one that I feel it actually turned out decent lol. The line work is still rather rough, but the beard at least looks natural xD) A faerie who may show up in the future sometime, and whose design I got inspiration for last night. I imagine them with bantu knots of some style, so this was basically just me experimenting with that: Here's to getting back into the groove of things! |

Thanks! :3 I'm excited for how they may turn out, their design already is a lot of fun to play around with (although admittedly for the colored-in hairstyle I traced the ref photo, as my original freehand iteration did not turn out well at all xD)
They don't yet, it's definitely something I'll have to think on! It can happen to me either way where a name will come to me right after character creation, or it takes forever to finally settle on something x3

They look so cute and happy together, ahh! <3 Their poses are so lovely, with a hand on each other's waist and Juniper's other hand just very gently against her partner's. Sooooo sweet! I am a sucker for cute coupley art, and this is so goodfeels. =)
I may have mentioned before that I love the design of Unnamed Faerie- haircut is very cool, blue hairtips look great with the rest of those lovely blues, and I'm only just now noticing the transparent waterfall-like sleeves and skirt, which I also adore.
Juniper's hair looks so voluminous and brushable, and the flame patterned skirt is so appropriate for a fire faerie, and so effective.

Aw, thanks Thorn ! I'm glad it could give you goodfeels too, that it can share warm fuzzies like that <3 And yay, that's great to hear her design is cool! I kinda put it together last minute, which can be risky when trying to make a cohesive character design. The transparent dress is from a random reference I found online of a similar irl dress, although I wish I'd saved that pic somewhere xD Haha, Juniper's hair is a ton of fun to draw! It's probably obvious at this point that I love floofy hair, and I seem drawn to asymmetrical hairstyles as well x3 I'm also really happy with her current design, took a while to get here but it was worth the time to figure her out :3 Thank you for the nice comments ;w; |
