Without further ado, I give you this year's Trick or Treat Doodles! Shinko , who requested a surprise:  It's Cree, from the North American NTWF D&D! , who requested a full color reference for Elin: June Scarlet , who requested something Ink themed:  I may have gotten a little carried away with this one x3 And Liou , who requested a Cell Block Tango between Queenie and Nyx! ( Thorn ) Moni 's request for a serious-toned surprise is in the works, and I'll edit it in after some private consultation about its details! Celestial , I was a bit unclear from your post, but did you have a specific request in mind? --- But wait! =O What's this, did I get too carried away with this year's doodles?? Probably x3 Because I didn't stop just there! For those who still visited my house but didn't know what to request.... Thorn  This composition just popped into my head one day, and I couldn't not draw it! (although for the middle figure, I maybe kinda combined her chief and voyager outfit, because I couldn't find a full body reference for the former x3;) And Birdy  Best Friends 4 Lyfe! --- BUT WAIT!!! =OO There's more!!! For those that didn't visit my house, but still participated in ToT... Fraze  Scip, because I don't think I've actually properly drawn him before! =o I dunno if he's a bit too expressive in this, but I went ahead and chose cute over accurate xD While working on him, I also played around with special effect brushes, and, well...  Jonathon is going to love keeping around his two newest friends! \o/ (the light bulb provided by Thorn) Like, I'm seriously considering including these two guys in the background of some of my Blossoms comics, like if Jonathon displayed them in his room or somewhere x3 Okay, and now I promise that's all! It wasn't my original intent to draw for everybody, but well, once you get an idea for one person, it snowballs for everybody else xD |

TWILLIE AHHHH thanks so much, what a lovely surprise. <3 That is indeed very similar to the outfit her standard singing doll wears, which I believe is based on the scene where she's crowned as successor early on (the full-on village chief outfit the deluxe doll wears includes a cloak.) The little flowers! Ah! And you drew cute baby Moana so kyoot. Her hair looks so swooshy in the third picture! Thanks for this. Moana is one of my absolute fave movies, the bestest Disney film (on our name badges we have our favourite character's name below our own, and I have 'Moana'), and this little sketchy of her journey throughout the story really made my day. Thank you! EDIT: I almost died when I saw Queenie and Nyx, bless you Liou for requesting this. You drew it so cool Twillie ! I knew Liou was secretly Team Villain at Heart. |

Thorn Aww, thanks! =D I'm glad you like it, haha I thought it'd be a nice surprise ^^ And ahh yeah, I remember seeing a cloak before now that you mention it! Decided against it so baby Moana wouldn't get overshadowed by too much billow-y feathers x3 Ooh, that makes me wonder now who I'd hypothetically choose for a favorite character under my name tag =o I'd tell them Hiccup from that Dreamworks dragon movie, and then they'd immediately fire me.

One of my coworkers actually has a big Toothless tattoo down one arm. xD
Picking fave character was easy for me, but some people change their mind several times. The first friend I made there has Maui on her badge, it was meant to be!

It would be super cute if they turned up in comics, yeah! But aww look at em, having a cute little party...this was so nice of you to draw stuff for ALL the ToTers, really wasn't expecting it!

Twillie, ah, I'm sorry, I did mean to respond to you with Jackie showing a picture of Aeneas that I drew as a reference but I have not had time before or since to work out the jerk's design. ;_; So I panicked and did not respond. I would love a surprise, if that's okay. All your art is absolutely amazing! (I especially adore cell block tango).

Some random sketches. I've been in the mood to draw these two lately, for some reason x3    *shakes fist* I swear, one day..... one day.... I will learn how to draw kissing right. Also, oops I think I'm in love.  I don't play Sonic games myself, but I do like to watch playthroughs sometimes, and I'd be lying if I said Infinite hasn't been stuck on my mind since I discovered Sonic Forces xD Just... look at him! Look at that edge boy!! It's like if I designed a Sonic character and ran it through an emo filter!! I love him <3 And he's so fun to draw.Easily my favorite Sonic character now, sorry Eggman and Silver xD |

XD So I think it was a huge accomplishment for cartoonists to find a way to make them look even remotely visually appealing, LOL! (Thus, not a problem with the artist's ability--just really hard to find good references! XD) |

A few days ago, I decided to take up that 25 expressions challenge, mostly just for the heck of it and for some extra practice making the faces, because why not. I'm doing it with Twillie right now, and while I am no way doing the full challenge with every character (at least not in a reasonable time), there are still some specific expressions I want to do with all of them. One of those faces is "drunk." This is what I came up with: 
Types of Drunks:
- Jonathon- Grumpy drunk who spends his time either sulking while keeping the drinks coming, or ranting to the nearest person about whatever is on his mind at the moment.
- Twillie- Tired/dizzy drunk who gets sick after one or two drinks. The girl cannot handle her alcohol.
- Zathandria- Loud and restless drunk who does best (or worst?) drinking at a party, that way she has plenty of people to shout at and challenge to crazy party games.
- Cherry- A child who is not allowed to drink \o/ She's still curious, though >w> (although were she able to, I imagine she'd be a giggly drunk that stumbles around every time she tries to walk or fly)

Happy 2019! To ring in the new year, a 2018 summary of art:  My version of this is probably less impressive than others' as, since I didn't set a goal to improve on something throughout the year, there's no real evolution to see here. However, I did make a semi-sorta goal last January that, while not visible with this meme, I was still able to follow through on! A common artist goal is to "draw something every day for the year/month/semester/etc." While I didn't officially set something like that for myself, last January I was struck with fortunate timing from the drawing bug, and I wanted to at least keep that momentum going as long as I could. 2018 is also the first year that I've made some kind of count of all the pieces I've drawn so I can keep track, and here's the graph I made of (very roughly) everything I've drawn:  The big spikes in September and October were due to the figure drawing class I was taking, for which I managed to fill up 3+ sketchbooks for, as we did a loooot of drills x3 In total, according to the notebook where I made all my tallies, I drew at least 326 things in 2018! That number and those on the graph may differ a bit, my counting method for this was not at all fancy and kept changing as I remembered drawings later on after making the graph and those on the bar graph match up exactly, as my numbers would keep changing as I remembered more pieces I drew x3 Basically what I did was just spend an hour or two browsing through all my computer folders and tallying everything with a 2018 date, and then flipping through my school sketchbooks to tally those as well. What I counted as a "piece" also varied, as for digital I just counted a file as one piece, even if there was more than one drawing on it. So, there's likely more than 326 drawings in total, depending on what you count as a piece. Either way, that's almost one drawing for every day of the year! And for the days where a new drawing wasn't made, I likely was continuing on a wip (probably a comic, which those as well depend whether or not you count the whole thing as one drawing, or the individual panels as their own). Most of these pieces were sketches and/or studies, though, so for this new year I'm hoping that I can keep the same productivity, but create more full/finished pieces. |
