RielCZ did you follow the....tradition? How did I miss the chance to make this reference?   Honestly, I was so close to referencing something like this in my original post. My computer wasn't booting up without the adapter, but the battery itself was fine. So I opened the whole sucker (this model has an an internal battery, not the kind you can just press a switch and pop out) and fixed the battery connection. (I know, I know, not that impressive, but I'd never done that before! Or opened a laptop at all, really.) |

Ah, when you're at a dessert fair and you hear someone describing your entry as 'literally so good.'  Didn't get a prize, possibly because I was late, but the complements are good enough of a prize for me. As well as the extra dessert itself. Mmmmm~ P: |

I left too many things unsaid last night but I have a feeling they were understood anyways. I feel like I began to break down a wall that I swore wasn't there, and by denying it I made it bigger. most of all, I'm thankful that I have you back for real edit: I was housesitting and the owners of the house had to stay out of town an extra day. I made one extra visit to their house, for an hour or so. they gave me $50 on top of what they'd already paid  which is a whole lot for someone who has not had a job in months. |

Autumn in Russia is beautiful. All the leaves are either bright gold or bright red and it is so lovely.
Also I got randomly given a red rose today for no reason. That made me happy. ^^

I went to see a wheelchair sports tournament. There were all these kids who were missing legs rolling up and down and spinning around the court with brilliant smiles on their faces. About half of them had come all the way from Germany to participate. One kid told me about his class and how many games he had won and how long it took him to learn to do wheelchair tricks. They were all just there to have fun together and everyone was helping each other and it was clear that nobody cared who won or lost.
It reminded me of a simpler time.

So after a long series of job application rejections, one place decided to move me on to the next round of the selection process. It's just an online assessment rather than, say, an interview, but it's still progress.
