Childhood best friend surprised me today with a text saying she was in town and asking if I wanted to hang out. My afternoon turned into an impromptu meetup that lasted the whole rest of the day :3 It's especially nice since basically none of my friends live in the area anymore, so I'm left very lonely most days lol.

Last (Thursday) night, I FINALLY got to see one of my favorite kids again! I used to work one-on-one with a child with disabilities at my church group. He hasn't been able to attend the past two years, due to COVID and other reasons. Well, he FINALLY gets to come back, and I saw him for the first time since before COVID. I was SO happy to see him again! Still smiling right now as I type this, just thinking about it. (I don't feel like I can/should share "publicly" here, but if you want to see a picture, PM me.  |

New phone! It's modern (released this year), sleek, feels nice in my hand, and is lightning fast. After having hand-me-downs and laggy, older phones (for comparison, my last phone is from 2018), this is a vast improvement. Plus I bought it entirely with my own money outright, so I am the actual owner of it.

So I’m a big St. Louis Cardinals fan. Albert Pujols just hit his 700th career home run. It’s been such a fun season to watch, with Wainwright, Molina, and Pujols reunited for one final season. Just a bit disappointed that it wasn’t a home game and it was on Apple TV which is very choppy. But still. I can go to bed happy tonight. (Yes, I realize this is going to get a “smile and nod” response from the vast majority of you. That’s okay. Just indulge me for a bit here… 😂)

Last time I went out thrifting I found an adorable purple trenchcoat of my mom's absolute favorite clothing brand, in her size, for $6. She loves it I'm so happy lol

Sooo I got a laptop. This really was over six years ago, huh.
The laptop in question is still in working order, but I admit it's a bit of a clunker. It's still running on windows 7, which is frustrating when programs are beginning to not support windows 7. I know that I could possibly buy windows 10 for the laptop, but that costs money that I do not have. It crashed now and again. It didn't have a whole lot of space, so I couldn't really download too many programs except for the things I used on a regular basis (CSP (which I know is a big program), Discord, etc.).
So why is this still in Mini Gloats?
Well, my mom got in touch with a super sweet lady who was giving away a laptop and she gave it to me. It's a bit slow at times, but it works well and it has plenty of space.
I'm still in the middle of downloading programs (am currently downloading CSP now, which like I said is a big program) and I still need to transfer files (I need to find a cable for that), but I'm really excited.
