Had a great walk yesterday. Saw red grouse, ravens, a wheatear, so many meadow pipits, possibly bramblings, deer, and lambs. Plus, I climbed the hill I wanted and got amazing views since the weather was perfect. Also had a lovely chat with an older gent who was out and about, and we happened to be resting in the same spot.
Best part, I walked 21.5 km (13.3 miles) overall yesterday. Nice to know that after a year of lockdown, I still got that stamina.

Visited a new park for me today, and I got in maybe an hour's walk in exploring it <3 It was cool because the trail I followed goes right against a river, and at one point there's a walkway that diverts into the trees like a fairytale path. Got lots of pictures for illustration inspiration and plant identification!

Just found out Coldplay's working on a new studio album, and they've got a new song coming in a few days >w> The marketing for it also reminds me a bit of Lady Gaga's Chromatica haha.

My mom bought a very small amount of bitcoin when it first hit the news. She then lost access to the wallet for years.
Well she finally worked with customer support to get back into it and there was $1100 in there 😱 Lol not exactly a rags-to-riches story but definitely a nice little windfall for her.

Cat was sunning himself in the front yard when a Small Human also out for a walk stopped to look at the kitty. "Aw look," said the Smol's mum, "he's so pretty! He's got a handsome face." Darn right she was. A second Smol caught up to them and asked where the Kitty was, and the mum pointed him out. "Aw, he's pretty," said the second Smol. "He looks just like a little tiger!" DARN RIGHT KID THAT IS LITERALLY HIS NAMESAKE YOU KNOW WHAT'S UP.

Well, yesterday was a very special day for me. Not only was it my birthday, but I also received my Awana Citation award. For those not familiar, Awana is a Bible memorization program used by many churches, but not all churches go all the way through the program. Awana really starts in nursery with Puggles, but the main thrust (and the criteria for the Citation Award) is the 3rd to 12th grade programs. I had done Awana a few years as a child/teen, but only completed 2 books/years worth. As I sat as a leader watching the Seniors receive their Citation awards for completing all books from 3rd to 12th grade (along with Bible reading (7th to 12th) and service (9th to 12th) components), I decided to go back and try to earn the Citation award as an adult. So.... when did I begin this endeavor? Well, you could say it started in 3rd grade, when I was a clubber at Awana. You could say it started when I was 3 and began the preschool Cubbies program. (Puggles wasn't a part of Awana at that time.) You could say it started in 11th grade, when I went back to Awana. But it really began in earnest in 2018. Since 2018, I have completed 7 books, plus a few sections from a high school book I ended up finding. I had planed to try to finished by 2021, but that plan was looking daunting, especially when COVID hit. But I had a special motivation to finish this year. One of the current high school seniors, Alyssa, wanted me to finish with her class. And I did!

You know those days where your mental health is suddenly so amazingly good for no reason and you feel like a functional human being who can get things done?
That was today for me. I don't know why, nor do I expect it to last, but it was good.

I've had several people ask me, "So how's it feel to be an aunt?" and the honest answer is that at the moment it...really feels about the same?
I think a better question to ask would be, "So how's it feel to see your big brother be a dad?" to which the honest answer is that it's very literally one of the sweetest, most adorable things I've ever seen in my life, asdfghjklaaa ;;A;; <3

To help use my dirt that I took home, I started a flower pot with herb seedlings. It said it'd sprout in a week, but I was concerned, as it had been nearly 3 weeks and nothing...
...Until today. I GOT A SPROUT, I GOT A SPROUT!!

So... back in April in "mini-rants" I posted about an issue with my flexible spending account, where I was potentially going to be out a few hundred dollars, and that my card would be suspended this year because I wasn't able to provide documentation for a charge. Well, the first part (the "few hundred" part) was resolved pretty quickly. I was able to submit bills from 2020, and they accepted the documentation for them, so I got all my money back. For the second part, I submitted documentation for a charge (not sure it was the "right" documentation, but it was all I had) and never heard back, even after submitting subsequent claims and hearing back from them. Well, I FINALLY remembered to call again today, and they said that charge was resolved! So... while I actually kind of doubt it (because I don't think the amounts are adding up correctly), I can at least continue to use my card and make claims and get my money back. So YAY!
