We're ready to begin! This post will lay out the gameplay mechanics and challenge options for you to complete, so it's going to be a long one. XD
As stated in the introduction post, Color Clash is divided into two types of gameplay:
Activities, which grant your company points required to buy supplies, and painting on the
Game Board using those supplies.
I will soon be sending each company a PM which will be used for a couple different functions: 1) sending me your tile selections each round, 2) submitting completed challenges to me, and 3) for me to keep track of your company's bank and purchases. You can also use this conversation to strategize with your teammates or ask me any questions you want to keep private, though you're not required to.
Activities:
These can be completed in any order and combination you wish. You aren't required to complete any specific challenges, it's entirely up to you which ones you pick or don't pick. Your team can divide challenges up between your employees, or you can work together to finish them. Some are repeatable, some are not (and will be clearly marked as such). New challenges may be added as the game progresses, depending on how quickly you guys complete these and if more points need to be introduced to the game. For most of these challenges, you will be required to let me know when you complete it through your company's PM conversation with me so I can verify, but some have other requirements. After each challenge listing will be a point value indicator with two numbers: the first number will be what it is worth for teams of 3, the second number for teams of 2.
A note on posting challenges: As always, no spam will be tolerated. Double posting is also frowned upon in most threads. The aim of these challenges is to encourage activity around the forum, so it is preferable to interact with other forumers, not just your teammates when completing these challenges.
Lastly, a note on the art and writing challenges: while I understand this is just a game and I don't expect you to make every challenge submission a masterpiece, please try to put in a respectable amount of effort. No stick figure drawings or paragraph-long short stories, please. XD
So, here's the list of activities as well as any notes on their requirements:

Once you've racked up points, you can purchase supplies and begin painting!
Game BoardHere we have our town map:
To start the game, you've each been busy painting houses around the perimeter of town, three to a team. Painting an unpainted building adjacent to one of your own will cost you
8 points for supplies. If you wish to instead paint a non-adjacent white tile, that will cost you
12 points for added transportation costs. Repainting an adjacent tile that is currently an opponent's color will cost
16 points, whereas repainting a non-adjacent painted building will cost
18 points. Adjacent tiles are only tiles that are directly above, below, to the left or right of your building, so diagonal selections will count as non-adjacent.
The stars indicate
Landmarks, which have special results granted to whoever manages to paint that building. A landmark's bonuses will also be reapplied every time they're repainted. Be warned, however: not all of them are positive! Furthermore, the five currently marked are only a portion of the the landmarks in the town; ten more are waiting to be uncovered by you. In addition, there are twelve hidden
Powerup tiles, which can be one of four types. Locate a powerup tile and you'll receive a special bonus for your company--or someone else's!
Your company will paint one building per day. Please send your selection to me via the team PM by 9 pm NST so that I can put together the Round Summary and have it posted before the day is up. Buildings take one day to dry, so you will need to wait one round after a building has been painted before you can repaint. Also, in case of multiple teams selecting the same tile in the same round, I will process the selections on a rotating basis. So in Round 1, Team 1 will get first pick, followed by Team 2, then Team 3, and so on. In Round 2, Team 2 will get first pick, followed by Team 3 and Team 4, etc. Therefore I'll ask that you
send your top 3 choices for tiles, in case they're taken prior to your team's turn.
If your team does not have enough points to paint that round, you will forfeit your turn until you're able to afford supplies. If your company does not have any buildings painted your color on the map, you are still in the game--you just need to repaint another company's building. At the end of 21 rounds (with the game
ending July 20), a winner will be declared based on total number of buildings painted.
Lastly, a few notes: for the start of the game I will be instituting a
point cap at 60 points, just so we don't get companies hoarding points forever and ever like Karmageddon struggled with. XD This number may be adjusted as the game goes on if it is too high/low a cap, but remember that the point of having points is to spend them. ;)
Also, the point values I have selected for both challenge rewards and for supplies costs are what I estimate to be fair for the amount of work each will require, but I reserve the right to adjust these as well if it turns out I miscalculated and need to make the game run a bit more smoothly. This is obviously the first time this game is being played, so it may need a few kinks worked out, just as a fair warning. Hopefully not, but I figured I'd be upfront about this just in case. Please bear with me if there are issues. :)
If any questions come up, don't hesitate to ask here or via PM. I know this might be confusing at first. XD
Now then, let the painting begin!
