That doesn't surprise me about KHIII. XD I 100%'d the game back in March and I don't think I'll ever play it again.
Monster Hunter World is a pretty solid game. Lots of quality of life improvements (you can gather while moving yay) that make it probably the most accessible MH game to date. It can get a bit grindy at times, but not quite as grindy as previous titles thanks to the previously mentioned QoL adjustments. (Like 3U, where I had to kill like 200 Brachydios just to get one Brachydios Gem. XD)

I am slightly irked that Square Enix spent a ton of time building up all this hype and then gave us something underwhelming at best with regards to KH3 though.
Now I fear that if there’s ever a Half Life 3 or a Warcraft IV, they will be mediocre games merely to throw a few bones to any people that had any hope those games would see a release.

It feels like KHIII was rushed, and my only explanation for how choppy and strangely-paced it feels is that they took the shears to a bunch of planned scenes and gameplay sections just to reach the arbitrary release date they promised. Spoilers for worlds and gameplay: It's odd that we only get to play as Riku twice and Aqua once, each for a single short boss battle. (and one of those Riku battles ends well before you win XD) Like... why bother taking the time to program that when we only get to play as Aqua for a minute? Those parts could've just been cutscenes - would've been easier and quicker than programming whole new playable characters with their own unique movesets and animations.
Overall, the Disney worlds (except for Priates and Toy Story) feel content-empty or are too short. Some of the worlds feel like speed-tours of the movie they represent. Corona is a notable example: You frolick through a generic forest/hallway with Rapunzel while watching abridged scenes from Tangled until Marluxia shows up and throws a heartless at you. The end. San Fran Sokyo is a pretty neat map, but you don't even really get to explore it until you've finished the world. XD The game just zips you from minigame to cutscene to boss battle and back until you're done. :I
Arendelle is probably the most rushed feeling of the worlds, with its sound quality problems, conspicuous watermark, and boring narrow samey landscapes. Only two(?) distinct landmarks from the movie can be accessed, and one of those isn't even used in gameplay (the ice castle) XP
Yeah... Squeenix definitely could've done better with KHIII. 16 years of set-up for this was not worth it. XD

Anybody here considering evaluating Google’s Project Stadia streaming service for games?
I’m currently taking a wait and see approach. I certainly do check the box of having a sufficient internet speed (requires 10 Mbps, recommended 35 Mbps). However, I just bought an Xbox so I don’t see a point in jumping into something so new and generally unproven. I could see this being a big deal for people that don’t want the hassle of building a gaming PC or the cost of a full fledged console.

I'm just ignoring Stadia right now. It's a wait and see sort of thing, and I don't need it right now. If I'm going to upgrade a xbox right now, I'll just get one of the real upgrades for it.

I think how it works is Stadia is just a Chromecast Ultra and a WiFi connected controller that requires a smartphone to connect to the actual game on some cloud server.
I can see cloud streaming useful for multiplayer gaming since every player is technically going to be on the “same cloud server” and this allows for more players to join due to the reduced latency. I looked at the initial list of games though and I don’t see anything that Xbox or PS4 doesn’t have. But $129 is probably easier to swallow than $399 for an Xbox One X or PS4 Pro. I just question whether it will work well, plus no reason for me to get it when I have two consoles right now.
However, I distrust Google right now because they have a history of pulling the plug on some services, the latest being Google Hangouts.

While I'm waiting for Three Houses to launch, I ended up getting the digital version of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night for the Switch.
I'm actually a mediocre Metroidvania player, having played Metroid: Fusion and failing to defeat the first boss. Took me multiple attempts just to defeat the first boss in Bloodstained once I learned the boss' attack pattern, but that itself is an achievement. Still, I'm enjoying the game, despite the issues that I've seen (mainly lag/performance issues)

So rather than playing KH3, I started RDR2 and I haven’t been able to put that game down. Missions are excellent. The plot is well executed (no pun intended there). The visuals are beautiful and I’m excited that the team developing BotW 2 said they were inspired by this game. That said, the switch is limited in graphics so I’m not expecting 4K HDR at anything greater than 30 FPS.
Still, I am rushing to complete the game before Three Houses. But I’ve added another game to my backlog: The original RDR. RDR2 is a prequel but I guess I was interested in playing through the full plot chronologically for the series. I did not have a PS3 or Xbox 360 so I missed that game.

So how about that Switch lite? I just watched the announcement trailer and I love the colours (can't decide whether I'd want yellow or turquoise), I don't particularly care about connecting it to a TV since I'd have to unplug my xbox 360 for that anyway, and it's just a beautiful looking handheld. Overall I was really seriously considering getting one...
...until I realised that the NZ preorder price is inexplicably fifty dollars more than if you convert directly from the Australian preorder price? I don't get this???

I actually prefer playing my Switch in docked mode (With a Pro Controller), largely due to the drifting issues the Joy-Cons are infamously known for. Which is one thing that makes me a bit leery about the Switch Lite. Are the sticks going to be made with the same cheap, fragile material as the Joy-Con sticks? If so, then it's only a matter of time before the entire console becomes unusable, as opposed to just the individual Joy-Cons.
Point is, I don't see myself getting a Switch Lite. I do think it will still be great for those that prefer playing in handheld mode, and the smaller size makes it much more portable. (Despite what all the marketing will tell you, the standard Switch's bulk makes it more awkward to play on the go than something like the 3DS)

I currently don't have a Switch at all- only got a 3DS a few months back, haha (I'm its third owner), and I am always reluctant to spend money on new consoles when there are so many games I can play on the three older ones I already have (or on my laptop!) But I recently got a job at a game store and figured I should...maybe try and be somewhat up to date. xD
(having said that, I'm currently replaying a game from 2001 soooooo...not doing so great there.)
Since the Switch light is a little less expensive than the regular Switch, and handheld is the mode I'd most often be going for either way, it really appealed to me. Just not sure why it costs so much more to purchase here as opposed to other countries.
Not sure about the joycons- surely if it's a known issue they'd be looking into fixing it, though?

Thorn : Nintendo's been annoyingly silent about the matter, even though it's a widespread issue and not that difficult to find people talking about it. And the number of drifting Joy-Cons is only going to increase as the Switch ages, since the problem is caused by a design flaw brought about by cheap parts getting worn down over time. Honestly, I think that they should issue a recall on the Joy-Cons, or at the very least start working on a sturdier model. But I'm not going to hold my breath...
Much as I love Nintendo and appreciate that they (usually) avoid the worst practices of the gaming industry, they do still frustrate me from time to time. (On a separate note, if you do go through with purchasing a Switch Lite, Breath of the Wild is exactly as great as everyone says it is and I highly recommend it)

Make sure that the games you're interested in getting are compatible with the Switch Lite! Some may also require the purchase of a pair of joycons to play.

My brother owns Breath of the Wild! Have watched him play it a little, it looks pretty fun.
I really want to play Bloodstained, which seems to be compatible with the DS Lite? Then again, as I keep telling myself, for the price of the console and just one game I could buy a bunch of D&D manuals I'm still missing. xD My store does a 'trade and save' program and still takes original DS games, so I could trade a few games I'm not using anymore and maybe some of my old 360 games too, for store credit. See if that helps a little!

You just have to compare prices to see what version is cheaper, but it is your preference.
