We all know that the holidays are a time that you can get together with family and friends, receive presents and eat delicious food. But is there something that happens ever year that just bugs you?
For me, it's the cheesy Christmas music they play on the radio. So I always end up on the classical station during this time of year.

Getting gifts for people- it's so stressful, especially when you don't know what they want XD And all the shops get so crowded

The aftermath; especially writing "Thank You" cards, because you write out the same exact thing over and over. :U

The family pictures. XD I know it's important, for memories and stuff, but my cheecks always hurt because I smile for too long and if I blink people get all grumpy, and I have to use uncomfortable shoes until the family pictures session ends. And I hate picking a dress... I love my mom a lot, but she is so into fashion and clothes are super important to her, and I just don't like all frufru and uncomfortable clothes. I like dressing well, but something simple. And my mom says all the time "women gotta suffer to look good" and it's just stressing to pcik a nice dress that we both like. I love my mom, but sometimes she's kinda pushy... ^-^;

The way certain people get so stressed out. MUST BUY EVERYONE EVERYTHING IN THE UNIVERSE THEY WANT, IT MUST ALL BE MADE OF SOLID GOLD, AND OUR CRAPPY HOUSE MUST BE SO FILLED WITH DECORATIONS THAT IT SPARKLES LIKE ONE GIANT TINSELLY DISCO BALL AND *explosion*
...Also, this is going to sound pretty awful, but I don't like being expected to attend family dinners. I don't have a whole lot in common with my family; we don't share interests or social circles, etc., and our personalities don't often mesh well. Combine this with my general social phobias, and get-togethers are often painfully awkward for me.

Crazy people at stores who would rip your arm off trying to tear a $5 sweater out of your hands.

How long it seems to go on. o_0 Seriously, I don't mind hearing Christmas music if it's the week of Christmas (okay, I kinda mind because of the next paragraph, but at least it makes sense). But does it have to start the very moment Thanksgiving ends? Mostly because of the Christmas music in the radios and stores and stuff. It makes me very tired of Christmas by the time it actually arrives.
I also don't like... Most kinds of Christmas music. ._. I mean, there are good ones, but all renditions pretty much follow the same pattern. I probably wouldn't mind so much if I didn't have to hear it everywhere all month long every year. Anymore, I get tired of it shortly after it starts being played everywhere. (Also, am I the only one who doesn't like Sleigh Ride at all? xD Although I do like most Hanukkah music; it's sad that I don't hear it enough.)
I'unno, it just bugs me. Christmas was always a consumerist holiday to my family. (We're not religious.) I actually made up my own December holiday to give it some redeeming qualities. Nothing special. Just a day of reflection and meditation on the past year and myself. And I do it when I have a free day so I'm not stressing about it during exams. I have a few days in mind of when to do it for this year. But I look forward to that more than Christmas.

I hate the times when it just doesn't feel like Christmas. The feeling tends to resolve itself once it gets closer and closer to the date, but some years it just feels off for the longest time, and then it's gone before you know it. D:

D: Like when you see people putting up lights or getting Christmas trees and you think "already??" instead of getting all excited like you used to.

This is actually my first Christmas with gift-buying and crazy lights and consumerism, so I'm actually really excited! ;D ;D ;D My home country is not exactly a big Christian nation, and I went to university in a tiny town, so I've never had anything to this scale before. So I'm all "ooooh. omg. woooow. this is so cool111!!!" but I try not to gawk too much xD The other day I went for my first ever gift-buying mall rush with my best friend! Omg it was crazy but exhilarating I've celebrated Christmas with various psuedo-foster families for the past four or five years (about three weeks before Christmas I start hanging around people and looking at them with eyes that say "you wouldn't want poor small Crystal to spend Christmas day alone, would you? DDDD:"), so I'm not really very shy about social events, but this is my first time really going out and getting gifts for them with my own money! So it's awesome. omgomg I'm excited xDDD oops, this is "what do you hate about" thread. >> I got all caught up in it. My bad.

I like holiday cheer, but it depends on what mood I'm in. Usually by Christmas Eve, I just want to kick anybody who is whistling 'Santa Claus Is Coming To Town'. Which is why I watch Jaws on the night before Christmas. I go to sleep thinking about man-eating sharks rather than how much I hate Christmas Spirit (to an extent, at least). And I can't be the only one here who HATES listening to little kids drawling on about what they want. Especially in such a modern world. I once saw a little five year old asking for a /real/ gun, several M rated games, and a whole bunch of other stuff. Little kids are so greedy and corrupted by the holiday season. >_> I mean, we're talking to the person whose goal is not to ask for anything for Christmas, but still. You have to admit that children and presents equals extreme and annoying greed. D: OH OH OH and I really hate it when everybody is asking what I want for Christmas. I don't like it when people stress out over me. I'm not that important, go spend your money on something you really need, like...like gas or something even though none of my friends are even in high school (probably because we're all in middle school). On a related note, I dislike when people expect me to get them gifts, then when i don't, guilt me. I have no money and frankly, if I did, I'd spend it on something for my family. Sorry to crush on the person's hopes, but I tend to put family slightly higher than friends. ...Wow I really hate the holiday season. >_> On a totally unrelated note, that sounds awesome, Crystal!

The strain that the post office has to bear at Christmas. >< Mostly because I work at the post office and the huge pile of parcels filling up the back of the store is really... urgh. And I think I strained my shoulder trying to move some of those heavy parcels around. There's just... too many of them! All at once! The post just can't really cope well. And it's so frustrating to not be able to find a parcel in the monstrous pile while there's a big long queue of customers waiting for you and getting impatient.
