Mostly just:
1. People (especially stores) tend to start into it immediately after Halloween and pay no attention to Thankgiving. (Image and commentary here are along those lines.) And...
2. People are too afraid to say 'Christmas' instead of 'Holiday' or even 'X-mas.' I don't mind the occasional thing where people mention various holidays separately (or just 'Holidays' if it's to save character space), and thankfully some people seem to be easing up into 'Christmas' a little more. Still, a lot of people are ridiculously picky (a group complained when someone did say 'Christmas').
The second probably more than the first. I'm not sure I'd even call these 'hate,' though. I tend to be annoyed at the way a lot of people treat the Christmas season, but I don't mind the season itself.
