Who are your favorite obscure characters?

We all love the characters on Neopets. Jeran, Kass, Xandra, Isca, Jazan, Sophie, Hannah, Kanrik - There's a plot character who's perfect for everyone. Of course, not all Neopets characters are as well known. Some are only in Neopedia articles, or in the Collectable Cards on-site, or even in the defunct (;_;) TCG or magazine! These are some of the best of the best of these characters; the ones who, above all, Need More Love.


Ahh, the Mysterious Aisha Sorceress. Who is she? Where did she come from? What does she want? Nobody knows, since she's mysterious! Woooooooo! We're not even sure if she's a Darigan Aisha; she has the color down, but Darigan Aisha don't have wings. All I know is, she has a great design, and I'd love to see her feature in a plot, as unlikely as that would seem.


One of the many reasons I loved the TCG is ebcause they could pack a lot of character into nameless Experienced Neopets just through great art and the flavor text. And since I love pirates, and I love Krawks. I can imagine this guy, drunk off his tail, telling tall tales that not even a Spardel would believe!


Ahhh, the Eyrie Defender. I love Eyries, since I love gryphons and birds of prey in general. And what's better than an Eyrie, but an Eyrie who looks every bit as fierce and majestic as real-life birds of prey? Easily the coolest detail on this guy's design is the black tip of his beak, which a lot of real-life raptors have.


Grarrls have been one of my favorite Neopets for a loooooooong time. They're like Skeiths, but a bit more aesthetically pleasing, despite the goofy grin they got after Customization. Plus, this guy's got a nifty callback to Torakar's card in the base set. And his armor is awesome.

I'm going to put down all the Neoquest II characters (come on, they need more love!) and Altador Cup characters, but I don't want to go into detail here 'cause I'll probably end up talking about them for the rest of the day.


For some reason, I really love Koya the Korbat Huntress xD I'm not sure why, but I just really like her.


The image - and the thought of an Aisha riding a slorg - is hilarious.


And I can't find an image, but I really like the Brightvale Potionary shopkeeper.

This gypsy looks like a fun character (and their design is amazing!). I remember she was involved in a part of the Tale of Woe plot. Sadly, TNT never came her a name.

I always did like this as well. Partly from seeing it at parts of the site so much, and partly because of just plain pretty, pretty art... @__@



I also liked Kyishi and the rest of gadgads party members, especially that jetsam who's name I can't recall. I know they were in a minor plot, but still.



On a side note, it's interesting that they used old artwork for Balthazar's card. It's still pretty though.

I do like the zafara princess and she reminds me of another obscure character from the 'Battle for Meridell' expansion pack.



In one of the 'Card of the Day' articles on the TCG section of the site, it is stated that this blue zafara was going to be one of the heroes featured in the 'Darkest Faerie' PS2 game; sadly, she was dropped and has never been heard from again. I do wish TNT would bring back this character somehow, she is so beautiful.

Oh man I used to bury myself in the TCG lists all the time, so there are tons of obscure characters I have a soft spot for. xD;


I probably just liked this guy because he was a blue Shoyru. Still.


Yessssss <3 I'm a geek for pretty much any mentions Alien Aishas get in the site canon, especially because there's so few of them. But Farlax is just so delightfully, manically, over-the-top evil. I can't not love him.


Pirate Bomber! <3 Approximately eighteen times cooler than the Zafara Double Agent. There were a bunch of really awesome side characters in CoM, but I think she was my favourite.


Not obscure in the proper sense of the word, since pretty much everyone knows about the Swamp Ghoul — but he is obscure in that there's just not much to know. xD; He's a villain and a complete void as far as character goes. Which... again, just makes me like him even more.

Also, I really love the crew of the Cyodrake's Gaze, and of course the Neoquest 2 four. I'm still praying for the day Neopets deicdes to create a plot featuring them.

She's one of my favorites as well. It was the design that drew me. She looks like pretty fun character. ^^

There's also that crazy guy who wrote the journal from Journey to the Lost Isle. I'm not sure if he counts because he never really appeared there, but... I really liked the weird journals xD This, in particular, was one I liked, and for some reason it stuck with me: "Never stop wondering, but never stop paddling."

P. Berigan Buzzby, from the the S.M.E.L.T. game. Although the only thing we know about him is that he's from the Lava Pools in Moltara, I hope TNT uses him somewhere else in the future. owo He even has a giant wrench! XD

My favorte site faerie, hands down. :3 Not least of all because she's the Haunted Woods' patron faerie.



The Werelupe King and his flunkies got a decent chunk of The Darkest Faerie game, but weren't used for much more than brute-headed lackies. I'd like to see them get a bit more use. :3



Herman Dorfdrap, a BD opponent from Tale of Woe, is probably one of my favorite Korbats on the site. :3



Actually, most of the Experienced Neopets from the TCG I don't think of as singular characters. Mainly because you can have multiple ones in play, and turn any basic Neopet into an Experienced one, those pets always seemed to me like different careers, rather than one single character.
