I may not necessarily be good at using it (not enough to use it for other people), but learning to use a sewing machine is such a game changer.

Tomorrow I can finally watch Belle! I've been listening to the songs for the past year, yet have never gotten the opportunity to watch the actual movie. I can't believe it!

Augh, I am reminded once again tonight just how targeted online ads like to be. I spent maybe two minutes total looking up how to raise chickens (a long term goal of mine), and already youtube is giving me ads on high tech chicken coop doors xP

Today I went to a gluten-free bakery for the first time, because I had a gift card. (I wouldn't have gone to such a place otherwise.)
It was interesting! "Gluten-free bakery" sounds like an oxymoron. All the baked goods I can think of have wheat in them, so I was curious to see how this place implemented the concept.
The thing I bought wasn't called a bread. It was called... a focaccia? xD It tasted vaguely like rice. I think it was made of rice flour.

That's one of the reasons why it's cool to have more GF eateries around, aside from providing more choice for people who need it for medical reasons, it also lets folks discover a whole world of breads and flours that humanity has always used for baking, and breads that just look different around the world. It'd be sad to restrict ourselves to wheat when rye is so tasty and spelt and buckwheat so delicate and chestnut flour is a thing.

Was working on finishing a card for someone. Power goes out. Am now at my desk surrounded by a semicircle of candles. I feel like I'm doing some kind of weird art ritual seance or something. XD
(Hope everyone else is doing okay with the storms today.)

New kitty likes to fixate really hard on specific objects and will not stop until he has stolen them. So far he ran off with one specific decorative seashell several times until it finally broke, and also he finally managed to steal and hide the foam off my computer mic. I had to put away my rainbow slorg plush because he kept staring at it/reaching for it and I was like WELP I KNOW WHERE THIS IS GOING and headed him off at the pass, those things aren't cheap. Dx

I love the eclectic car decor I'll sometimes find in my area. While waiting at a light on my drive home today, I sat next to a car that had a mixture of decals reminiscent of stereotypical "basic" culture (it literally had a "Live, Laugh, Love" sticker!) and pop art decals of anime characters including those from Sailor Moon and Boku No Hiro Academia. Some of the stickers were also placed in unusual spots, like on the driver seat's door (not the window). Just makes you want to meet the people who drive the car to get to know them more haha.

March feels like it's been speeding by! Compared to February, the shortest month, March is zipping by in a flash!

With the amount of loose hair I brush off of my cat every day, I'd think he'd be bald by now.

The question of whether pickles and chocolate taste good together came up.
First I looked it up and saw several recipes. Then I decided to take the most basic recipe and find out for myself.
(My brain did not want to do this, but it's for SCIENCE.)
Recipes implied that people just use semi-sweet chocolate chips, so I got those. I think most recipes use pickle chips or butter pickles, but all I have are uncooked dill pickles because that's what I prefer. I took out a pickle to dry a bit, cut it into slices, and heated up the chocolate chips. Then dipped each slice in and tested, aaaaaand.
It was a very neutral experience. There was neither a clash of flavors nor an enhancement of flavors. It tasted like I was eating pickles and chocolate at the same time. In which case I'd rather be eating just pickles.
But if I were to try again, I'd use dark chocolate instead of semi-sweet chocolate, because I felt the sweetness just took away from the neutrality in a negative way, and because I feel like there could be a potential flavor thing to it, and I just couldn't find it. Or I could follow the recipe and add coconut or something, but I don't know how far I want to go on that for something that didn't really elevate anything for me.
Anyway, pickles and chocolate are not a scary combination, it's just kind of whatever.
