Just got mine. While I am happy to get this, I wasn't expecting the big 500th issue prize to be a mere background wearable. Tch, try not to sound too ungrateful, eh?  Actually, so far this has been one of the most epic of NT-exclusive prizes (I should know, I've been here from the first one XD):  - Christmas issue 170  - Issue 200  - Issue 150, 250, & 350  - Issue 300 & 400  - Issue 450  - Issue 500 The background probably has the most work put into it by the staff members, as it's a fully-drawn background and not just a singular item. (Though admittedly, last year's quill required fitting to all 54 species) Plus, as a wearable background, it feasibly stands to acquire the most value, as nice-looking wearables are always in demand, and it's a unique locale not really covered by any existing background. Anyway, I personally think it's fantabulous.  Mine's gone straight into my NT gallery, but I'm thinking of buying another one off my sister, who also made it into issue 500 (hers is the Mashed Potatoes comic). |

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be ungrateful when I posted that. I didn't realize how valuable background wearables can be. If everyone says this background is great, I have no right to disagree. I do agree it's a neat and nifty background BTW. One that I most certainly will be keeping even though I was offered 2 million for it by a random user. It's special, it's represents my publication in this special issue and it is very limited. |

Great issue guys, I read all the comics and started on the Short Stories - the quality this issue is just awesome I noticed there are 2 short stories called 'Five Hundred Years' though... kinda makes me glad (in a way) I didn't quite finish my short story, the tentative title was 'Year Five Hundred' xD |

^ I noticed that, too - with a themed issue, I guess you're bound to get redundant titles. I retitled my story at the very last second - the working title had been 500 days in Neopia, when there's already a 500 Days and a Day of the 500 and two 500 years. xD
