Wow, Kaito sounds great! I heard that Gumi is getting an update too... It's smaller than Append, but it's not like she needs that much of an update... (Gumi's my favorite Vocaloid now.)

I would enjoy joining, and would love to actually use the Vocaloid program, even UTAU... however, my PC is absolutely pathetic... I still adore it all! Especially Miku-Chan~
Anyways, if I find the drive for it (Pun not otherwise unintended) many works can be expected from me... however, until then... I'm Voca-less.

Sure thing! *adds you two* @shade: ((Guh, I keep confusing you with the other Shade...)) Did you check against UTAU the system requirements? The minimum requirements aren't all that great (well, for the usual recent Windows stuff). As long as your CPU speed is 2 GHz (possibly lower, not sure) and your memory is 512 MB (again, possibly lower), you should be fine. It might run a little slowly, but it should run. I've run programs without meeting the 'minimum' requirements, and the program isn't one of the most complex (IMO). Overall, I'd say it's one of those programs where if you're below the minimum, you should still try. You might be surprised.

Yay, more new members!
So... Any Hachi fans out there? He programmed 'Matryoshka' and 'Panda Hero', as well as several semi-popular Miku songs. :3

EDIT: Nevermind, turns out it's a paid service after all. And yes, you need an account. Stay tuned for more info, though. I might find something that you guys can still watch. If you can't see the Mikunopolis concert live, you should still be able to watch it streamed on NicoVideo! I don't know if you need an account or not, but if you do, then at least it's still free.live.nicovideo.jp/watch/lv54164376It's also mentioned on Miku's Facebook page. If I'm not mistaken, the streaming starts at 8 PM Neopian time, and the concert itself starts at 8:30. The first half hour will probably either be people waiting for the event to start, or announcements, introductions, and maybe some advertisements. So if you come on a bit late, you won't be missing too much.

*revives thread* www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-IWlLNeaEA&feature=relatedA sample of Miku's upcoming English voicebank (which was about 40% complete at the time), and some more Kaito! Likes? Complaints? Squees? Edit: I forgot about GUMI extend! www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtbKbfCTPGwI'm not impressed with Sweet, but the others sound fine! ^^ (I wish they used it different song though... I'm not a huge fan of Interstellar Flight. -_- ) There are already a couple of Extend songs/covers out, I'm sure you could find them on NicoNico or Youtube!

Sorry about taking awhile to get to this. Those that asked to join have been added to the member list. Anyway, I think I'll explain why I haven't posted here for awhile. (Yes, there's a specific, Vocaloid-related reason.) Remember how awhile ago, I mentioned an UTAU-ish program for Mac called SugarCape? Forget that. The maker of UTAU has released an actual Mac version of UTAU called UTAU-Synth (which I personally like to refer to as 'U-Synth'), which already has most of UTAU's important functionality, including full support for existing UTAU-loids. Basically, I've been testing it out, and generally using it. It is still in Alpha, meaning that it's missing some generally-more-advanced-but-still-handy features, and that it's fairly buggy and may crash seemingly at random. However, it does have a couple of advantages out there. My personal favorite is that you can overlap notes, and that the envelope is always in front of you, meaning that it's easier to use crossfade to make decent sound-blending. Examples: UTAU U-Synth ~ These are both without researching details on crossfade in UTAU, other than where the crossfade tool is. These are both sung by Aiko Kikyuune. Here is an example showing the following: 1 UTAU default 2 UTAU using U-Synth default 3 UTAU default, crossfade added 4 UTAU using U-Synth default, crossfade added 5 U-Synth using UTAU default 6 U-Synth default with UTAU OTO.INI settings 7 U-Synth, timing imitating UTAU 8 U-Synth default, no editing For more-direct comparison, here is the U-Synth default in both versions: 1 U-Synth default, no editing 2 UTAU using U-Synth default, crossfade added The voices are from the same source, so it's still Uta Utane singing, but all the files are tweaked (as evident by the way the UTAU voice sounds with the U-Synth OTO.INI file). When you get down to it, the way the voices are processed are similar, but the UTAU programmer has done some updating. Anyway, I've already linked to U-Synth in the first post. It's free with a publicly-posted 30-day license, which is renewable (she appears to post a new license code each month). Also, you should know that you can import the saved files to UTAU easily as long as they're saved as version 1.2, which may remove some things. Other than that, you'll have to do some tweaking. I'll have to make a file with instructions if anyone needs them. I'm also going to warn you now that if you unpack Japanese-encoded voice banks with Archive Utility (the default unpacker/decompressor on Macs) some of the files will go missing for some bizarre reason. So instead, use Stuffit Expander. If they're unpacked immediately upon download, get the compressed file out of the trash, even. Unfortunately, they're more-than-likely still going to be garbled and unusable. For such cases, just use this in Automator to fix most stuff and this to fix any arrows (↑↓) there might be. The first one might not fix all files, but since I use the workflow myself, it's updated periodically. Just let me know of any missing kana you want fixed, and use the link to download the latest version. I also don't have Mac tools for quick Romaji (ABC) aliasing yet, but if you don't have easy access to Windows, just let me know what voicebank you're using and I can make an aliased OTO.INI for you. Anyway, if you're a Mac user, I hope you enjoy.

Ladies and gents, I present to you the new Vocaloid SeeU!
Don't let the silly name fool you; she's the first Vocaloid that will be able to sing Korean! Here's her demo! (Gee, I feel like an announcer...)
Several other designs have been revealed, such as CUL, Ring Suzune, Lui Hibiki, Aoki Lapis, and (much to my disappointment) the Vocaloidols, but none with any voicebanks.
(This is Drop Echo, signing out)

A subbed version can be found here. She's got an interesting design. I agree with the person who posted that video: I didn't expect cat ears. There are also bits that seem like they were meant to be cutesy, but strike me as odd. Otherwise, I like it. If you look, she appears to have the ' power on/off' symbol in at least a couple of places: one of her buttons, and near the bow around her neck.
