For anyone interested in buying actual decent-looking, and affordable plushes of the Mane 6, 4th Dimension Entertainment's going to be putting Fluttershy up for pre-sale soon:
/photo/1
They've already sold Twilight and Pinkie last year, and they were 11" and $25. Rarity, Applejack, and Big Mac are going to be coming in the fall/winterish time. :3 *super excited for Rarity*

By the end of the year all the Mane 6 should be released. There's also a Luna going to be out XD

Eeee this is cute. <3 I'll still go for the Build-A-Bear one because I can't wait (and shipping will probably double the $25 for me) but that's cute.

I like the build-a-bear ones well enough (and they're bigger), but I personally prefer full-fabric manes to the bad plastic wig/fun fur variants, because they never look on-model. :<

Yeah, I'm not jumping to get a plushie... But if I did, I want the full-fabric over goofy looking wigs or ribbon hair things.

Speaking of plushies, I saw the ABSOLUTE WORST ones today and I needed to share them with you all. WHAT HAPPENED TO CHEERILEE'S NOSE. D: D: D:

Are those officially licensed, or knockoffs? 'cause eww. XD I think they are real. They were at Target with all the official Hasbro stuff, so... either someone at Target screwed up, or someone at Hasbro screwed up. xD

That's why people are going nuts over these new ones, because they are pretty much the best ones you can buy that are official.

I have to wonder what some of the makers of these official plushies are thinking. Haven't they seen the fanmade ones and noticed the difference in quality?

Yeah, they started to make plushies (a bit late) after so many fan made ones were being done, that were good, and being sold (or "donated" or whatever people use to sell them). Only now are good ones being made XD But these first few companies that made some, not so good to look at now XD

Yeah. Don't forget, the actual target demographic for the show is little kids. Little kids who aren't bothered by the inaccuracies (or who have parents who don't know/care). It takes more time to sew an actual swirly fabric mane than to just plug in a chunk of plastic wig. Plus then you can sell MLP-branded hairbrushes to the little girls to style their pony's hair!

I have a bunch of the ribbon-haired dolls just because my parents got them for me. :'B I've kind of grown to stop caring.

I was the kind of kid who always wanted my toys and stuff to be as accurate as possible XD So knockoffs or toys that didn't really represent what I wanted were failed objects I didn't want and made sure no one ever got me XD (I mostly did my own shopping as a kid, with parents just following behind saying yes or no XD)
