XD Yeah, it's pretty easy to see why Hasbro put the banhammer on that thing. It's weird as heck to see the girls punching each other. XD But it's fun, and they have goofy looks when hit XD

So I may have blown a coupla fuses on Testing Testing 1 2 3. Say you want to take a test that'll be a huge step towards a Great Life Dream of yours. Working with the baseline assumption that you don't already have comprehensive knowledge of all things Wonderbolts onnacounta being their biggest fangirl, while all your friends have casual knowledge of this stuff, do you:
a) hunker down with the book and learn your stuff, possibly even enjoying it because after all, you're interested in this?
b) enlist the help of your friend, immediately proceed to act like a teenage twit at her all the way through the episode while your friends go out of their way to magically pour the knowledge into your skull with no effort on your part, and then ace the test because your friends found a way to magically pour the knowledge into your skill with no effort on your part?
Moral: showing interest/putting in effort to learn something that you specifically... want to learn... and are already interested in... yeah, I'm not sure how to end this sentence.

I stink at learning. Pretty much all those studying methods wouldn't work on me either. I would just wing the test and hope for the best.

S'the thing, the episode could easily have been this exact episode with the different methods of learning and "agh, I'll never get this in time" and discovering the one method that works, but why did Rainbow have to be this obnoxiously resistant to learn anything?

Wonderbolt History is pretty boring I guess. She just wants to fly, and probably only really knows the current team info.
But yeah, it is a bit odd she doesn't know a bit more.

I guess Rainbow's lack of knowledge of Wonderbolt history could contribute to her consistent ethical dilemmas with them. ...Or something? I'unno, I wasn't paying that much attention to the WB's history. ...But yeah, it's still weird.
I mostly just didn't like the first part of the episode, where Twilight attempted to help teach her. Short attention span aside, Rainbow still acted completely immaturely about a test that determines her future. (Spit wads? Really?)
After Rainbow wizened up and started to take the test more seriously, I liked the episode more and was able to sympathize more with RD. And it did pretty well on going over a few different modes of learning.
But I DID find it really weird how Rainbow couldn't learn her stuff until Twilight pretty much had to get the whole town involved. Dang, I wish my city would forego anything and everything else they had to do that day to help me pass some test.
...Also, is it just me, or did it seem like RD's friends knew the material better than RD? Twilight is one thing, but the rest of the mane cast?
I liked where the episode eventually went. But I agree it could've been handled better.

In case anypony's interested, Legends of Equestria is having an open server weekend. I've been having fun exploring and questing as an Earth Pony named Ember Pyre.

I haven't played the game, but I caught them.
Also the wheelchair pony was from a Make a Wish Foundation kid. He voiced the pony to apparently.

So I took the schmuck bait and decided to watch this on Netflix
and now I'm at Season 2 Episode 4
so yeah, just posting that I can see why people enjoy this series. And I still haven't touched the off-show fandom yet and intend to keep it that way. >_>
(incidentally who the heck is Derpy)
EDIT: found out and have watched through the end of Season 3, which is all of Netflix, so I guess that's it then hm.

I JUST WATCHED THE SEASON FINALE *FLAILS ALL OVER THE FLOOR* I liked the episode in general XD except... The only thing I hated was the Rainbow Power thing... I saw it coming from a mile away, especially with the toy line being out for ages. But... BLEH I hate the look. Glad it wasn't permanent. As for other things; I totally called the Villain XD I only know who Tirek is because of a tumblr blog that used the character (updated as a FiM image) in their comics ages ago. So I knew who he was from that. I saw a image of a close-up of his eyes a while ago, and guessed him ^_^ So glad to see him.
He is a bit different from his bio stuff from the original series. Sort of wish we saw Scorpan.
