Two guesses from me: 1: She remembers and has feelings from that time. I mean, she had a family again. Even though she has living family, none are nearby. 2: Maybe her sister married into the Apple family, maybe not the main one we see, but others, so no Pinkie is sort of more family then before.
But I'm leaning more for the first idea XD

But I'm leaning more for the first idea XD My first guesses would be 1) maybe it's part of the musical episode they mention, and she's trying to find something else she's good at, or 2) she has some kind of falling out with her sister and is looking for some other place to belong. Of course, I could be way wrong. XD; in other news, I just accidentally got dad to watch ponies (it popped up as a related video on Youtube and now he's watching it) is this a win in brony books

So I was at Wal*Mart the other day, looking at the Pony section, and they had Octavia dolls. They're the kind with the ugly ribbon hair, but still, Octavia dolls! They used to just be the Mane Six. I think that's a little cool.

Discord is getting his own singing number is season 4 XD He said he gets to sing in the actual show at some point, while at a convention at a star trek panel XD He said it was short and quick though. Either way, should be fun.

So Hubworld has released a promo for the season 4 opening. I dub this phenomenon 'the Twilight Zone.' I do wonder what's up with the Elements-of-Harmony-based crystal tree thing. And what Celestia is doing to that crystal that resembles Twilight's Cutie Mark. And I think we got a peek at part of the new opening.

Just saw the new episode. Had a few thoughts on it. It was interesting to see Twilight try to get used to her royal duties. I can't blame her for being all "deer in the headlights" about that, especially when the other princesses are captured. xD
I think my favorite parts were the flashbacks. I thought it was interested to take a look back to Equestria history, especially with the exact details of Princess Luna's entrapment. (Although a part of me did wonder about Zecora happening to have that potion, and how she knew it would work if she couldn't use it herself.)
I could see where they were going with the whole "royal duties versus friendship" thing. But I think the ultimate way they tried to resolve that (with the others telling Twilight to go back) was... kind of forced and rushed. You're going to the Tree of Harmony, and it specifically has to do with the Element of Harmony, and you're telling one part of the Elements--also the one who knows most about it and has the most power--to go back? Which might've still been interesting if the transition between going back and not going back hadn't been all rapid. She's been in Ponyville for all of 10 seconds before she's convinced to go back. (Even though the reasons for going to the Tree are much stronger than going back to Ponyville.)
Anyway, I think it'll be interesting with the Mane 6 not having their elements anymore. They'll have to come up with different ways to defeat the bigger villains when they come up, and I don't think that's a bad thing at all. Also, one thing about the episode that reminded me about one (spoilerish) part of Equestria Girls. "Equestria will survive without my element!" Twilight proclaims when she's threatened with entrapment.
Appaaaaaaaaaarently not. ^^;

My thoughts for the first two eps: Surprised there wasn't any singing. XD
Sad to say, I couldn't stop thinking, "Oh great, canon tentacles. Just what the clopfics needed." XD
I also was a little unsure about the tribal Zecora giving Twilight special liquids for her to consume, go into a hallucinogenic state, and come out with the solutions to their problems. XDDD *coughpeyotecough* Also in the end when Discord gave her the potion to drink, I would've definitely not trusted that. XD Don't just up and drink things that suspicious people give you, children.
But it was a fun enough episode, anyway.
