Just saw the season 3 finale... I, uh, can definitely say I wasn't expecting that. XD;; I'm actually kind of on the fence about it. For one thing, Twilight as an alicorn looks pretty unnatural IMO (though a little better with the different hair). Two, it feels like it'll completely change the feel of the show? I dunno. I guess I'll have to wait until season four to see if it grows on me.
...Though admittedly, while I'm on the topic, I've been kind of lukewarm about season three in general. ^_^; Almost every single episode has been pretty obviously catering to the fans, and I just kept waiting for it to jump the shark altogether. I mean, I haven't given up yet, but...
The rest of the episode was pretty awesome though. I'm a sucker for musicals and characters swapping places. :^D And Celestia song! I was so excited omg.
...
okay, alicorn!twi is already starting to grow on me a little, because now i want a toy of her

Made a silly image based on a meme, then named it after a completely unrelated meme because I'm ridiculous like that. If you could like and favorite it here, I'd be grateful! =D But don't do that if you actually think it's a stupid image, because that'd be wrong and stuff.

So that episode kinda looked like a poorly written fanfic to me. All of the mane 6 had there cutey marks switced around (xcept twilite cuz she did the spel that did it. It wuz stars world da berdeds spell but he didnt finish it.) They all tried 2 do each others jobs but cudn't becuz they where bad at it. So twilite and spyke went and got them all 2 do the jobs they had 2 do, and it wroked n they all sang. Then princes celestical said twilite u r a princes. Then twilite had unicron wings n she wuz a princess. And twilit said princes selesita how do i be a prinses is their a book. And the princess said no u have 2 teach us all now. I'll wait to see how it all pans out. The events of this episode could make or break the series, in my opinion. It might just be a marketing move, in which case I'll be pretty disappointed. But then, if the writers play it the right way, it could lead to some pretty interesting dynamics among the mane cast, with good comedy and worthwhile morals. But I really wasn't happy with how the episode itself was presented; it all felt too rushed and without much (if any) explanation. Had it been a 2-parter, I think it would have worked much better.

I think I saw one of the writers (Cindy Morrow, if memory serves) tweet that the season finale isn't so much a single episode as it is the first part of a three-parter, so I'm hoping that means the S4 premiere will make it make more sense. I can't find said tweet now, so I may be wrong. >_>

I'm still hoping some evil being will appear and just snatch her alicorn powers away from her! MWHAHAHAHAAA

MWHAHAHAHAAA Could be, and if so that would fit in with my earlier evil opposites conjecture, fulfilling Rarity's opposite in the form of greed/stealing/taking stuff/whatever.
Assuming both of these are true, then we'd just need an opposite for Fluttershy. Presumable somebody super-cruel. *shrug*

now the mane 6 is all unevenly split between the types of ponies. D: Now we have 2 earth ponies, 2 pegasi, 1 unicorn and 1 alicorn. Gahhh, it bothers me in its unevenness.
And yet at the same time it makes Rarity more special for being the only unicorn in the group now, and Rarity's my favorite. X3

Fraze and I had a lengthy discussion about this episode on our latest grocery run :3 (The store is about a mile away.) I have high hopes about this being the first of a three-parter, because this means that they didn't just drop PRINCESS ALICORN on the viewers and will actually explore the concept a bit. 'course, seeing how the next season will be out whenever, it means that speculations can run wild in the meantime, but that's the fun part.
What bugged me was the pacing of the episode as standalone. They're all the same length, and watching that show, you get a general feel of what will happen when. First third, conflict established, second third, conflict escalates/gets discussed, final third, conflict resolved. In this finale, they needed to have the alicorn ascension at the end, so there was less screentime for the switcharoo, so the switcharoo inevitably ended up squished into the first two thirds. Now if the switcharoo was a full episode, it might've delivered the gravity of the problem better, then end it with a TBC and make the next episode about the solution and princessitude, presto.
...or just make the episode longer xD

Oh man, can you imagine if they had left the part where Twilight disappeared as the cliffhanger? Cue debates on whether or not she was dead, conjecture as to who if anyone would take over as main character, etc...

You've been warned Honestly, if you really want to look at the whole thing in a sort of twisted way similar to how some people like to point out darker stuff in other series/comics that are all up to debate... You could say Twilight was in fact killed at that moment. She was in a sort of walkway path or something, she saw her life pass by (literally), she was guided by her mentor, then in a flash it's all over. The rest is all a last minute dream of what should have happened. Or, you can go the other twisted dark storyline people online like to use for stuff. She was placed in a coma at the moment she was zapped. All that is going on is just her way of coping with it, where in fact she's in a bed in the hospital. Yep... Sort of twisted, but sooner or later I think someone would begin spreading that stuff around online, if it all ready hasn't. It seems to happen to a lot of series out there. Doremon, Garfield, Pokemon, and more. People are twisted XD And that was sadly, my first thought when seeing that whole scene XD So yeah... Now, here's a cute Luna.

So like. Build-a-Bear is making MLP plushies now. ._. They've started with Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash, and they're actually pretty good-looking. www.buildabear.com/shopping/productDetail.jsp?productId=prod11020044Granted, I would've preferred they'd just made the hairshape as plushie instead of giving them that awful faux hair, but the bodieshapes are quite awesome. Also $24 sure beats the heck out of those hundred-dollar fanmade ones. X3

Ooh, that's really cool! Thanks for the head-ups, Komori. ^_^ I hope they'll have more ponies soon, I would love a Fluttershy.

I don't really mind faux-hair, but I wish they'd proportion it more accurately. Rainbow's head just looks bald to me. Otherwise, though, these look fantastic! I'll have to hold out for a Twilight plushie...
