The girl fidgeted slightly, pushing a lock of her long, dark-brown hair behind her ear. "...Elena. I'm Elena."
And he finally learns her name!

"Her personal prayers were interrupted, though, when an explosion rocked the back end of the vehicle, causing it to flip over and crash onto the pavement upside down."
Yeouch. <.< Good thing her alloy suit is designed for these kinds of impacts.

I groaned due to the fact that my nightmare had caused me to be on edge for no reason.
Ouch, that's got to hurt, having a nightmare like that.

"Well, Adam thought, having a number key stick was certainly better than having a letter key that was sticky, considering the fact that he was a writer and all and needed to be able to write lots of words with different letters in them."
Lololol. Stretching to hit 2,500 words at the end of a scene leads to sentences so bad they're hilarious!

The people always bleed to death anyway. But at least they have someone next to them, holding their hand.
It's an analogy. And it's not as morbid as it sounds. Seriously. xD

"So she listened to the music that he habitually listened to, until her heartbeat slowed to a manageable rhythm. But still sweet and exciting and layered, like a fugue."
Hmm, I realize that I have a lot of sentence fragments. But they're a stylistic device, aren't they? (Darnit! I just wrote another fragment!!)
