Ooh, I'd love to participate in that! Thanks for posting about it. ^^ I'm happy with my username, but getting a free month of Premium sounds cool, and making the card itself should be really fun. It's great to have the chance to do something nice for someone for the holidays.

I don't suppose there's a way to set the "More Like This" feature to omit pieces I've already favorited, is there?

I don't suppose there's a way to set the "More Like This" feature to omit pieces I've already favorited, is there? Nope, not at the moment. But it's still in Beta, so I suppose they could always add the feature. hq.deviantart.com often has the latest dA news, and I think you can suggest changes to whatever topic they happen to be discussing on that particular journal/blog.

Yeah, I kind of thought it'd be the default setting if there was a way. >_> For those of you unfamiliar with my dA, I look at a lot of Rainbow Dash fanart[/understatement]. Often it's simililar to stuff I've fav'd before, so the "More Like This" feature deviates(no pun intended) between useful and useless on a piece-by-piece basis.

So, for April Fool's Day, dA has launched DeviantHEART, an artist dating site. www.deviantart.com/deviantheart/Is it sad that I wish this were a real thing? XDDDDD

dA added a new Premium feature: Multi-submit and Scheduled submit! *__* Yayyyyyyyy! Now you can schedule when you want a deviation to be posted, which will be totally awesome for my Spooky comics, and also a multi-page, multi-day comic I have planned in the future. Also, it's been a while since they added a Premium feature, so it's nice to validate the price. XD

As someone who is primarily a watcher(or technically, primarily a faver), can someone explain to me what the point of putting deviations in storage is, what exactly it is, why people do it, so on?

It's like a reversible delete. People can't find the deviation anymore, or view it, but you get to keep it, and you get to keep all the comments and pageviews on it. Then, if you want, you can take it out of storage and it keeps all that stuffs. People do it when they don't want others to view it, but they don't want to lose their comments.

Hey, uh, I'm the founder of the NTWF dA group but I really haven't been doing anything with it for the past few years and frankly shouldn't be running it when I'm so inactive. I'd like to step down and let someone else take over as founder; is anyone interested?

I'd like to step down and let someone else take over as founder; is anyone interested? Well I'm pretty active on dA, but what sorts of things would running the group entail? I run another group of my own so I know about accepting deviation submissions and whatnot, but I recall several years ago the group used to have contests and theme events that it hasn't done in a long while. Would you be looking for someone to revive those? Also, it looks like Ginz is still the founder?

Would you be looking for someone to revive those? Also, it looks like Ginz is still the founder? Oh wow, apparently I completely forgot which one of us founded it (Sorry Ginz!)... That means I should actually talk about this with her first before I go farther, but... Yeah, I was hoping to revive those kinds of events. I feel bad about how the group's kind of dead right now and would like it if someone could post, say, weekly drawing themes/challenges to encourage a bit more participation. We've had similar things on the art boards on this forum and could coordinate the two, so that the challenge threads here get updated at the same time as on dA. Maybe there could be tie-ins with the Neopets Art Gallery and encourage people to submit for each pet day by using the species as prompts, and there could be some kind of Beauty Contest support with journal entries featuring whoever's in that week... Maybe leaving comments on each other's art could be encouraged somehow, too... Like the review threads, there could be a review folder for people who want feedback. Basically I'd like to see the group be more supportive and engaging for the artists in this community rather than just a dumping ground for stuff made by people who happen to be members here. I always remembered this place as being really supportive and interactive where writing was concerned, and it'd be nice if it had a bit more of an art community feeling as well. (And thanks for your interest and question, by the way. I really should have mentioned all of this when I put the idea out there in the first place, but clearly I hadn't thought about it too deeply.)

I completely agree with Nut. To be honest, I hardly go on DA these days. I mostly follow artists on Tumblr instead, and I keep an eye on the art boards here as well, so I've gotten out of habit of checking DA, but I always feel guilty when I remember to open the site and see expired submissions to the group from like a week ago or something. D: I think we've been losing a few members due to inactivity too, which doesn't surprise me, but it'd be sad to see the group die. It'd be amazing if you're willing to take over the group as founder, Shinko! Reviving the events would be great; I love the idea of building up an art community that's really supportive and engaging! I think that would also motivate me to become a bit more active on DA again. I think it'd be nice if you had some help too, because sometimes life gets in the way, and even when it doesn't, it's always more fun to do things with a friend. That's why Nut and I created the group together initially. So if anyone else is interested in becoming maybe a new cofounder or group admin, do speak up! I'd be willing to help a bit too, if you want. I'm not active enough to run the group by myself anymore, but if you need someone to do smaller jobs, maybe I can help out. I feel I have some responsibility towards the group. Anyway, I'm gonna poke around DA to figure out how to transfer the group to a new founder and things like that, because I don't really know, but I just wanted you to know I'm totally on board with letting you take over. ^_^
