I always suck when I play a Megaman game I haven't been through before, but I gradually get the hang of it. =P I actually found 10 easier than 9, which is a little odd since most of the reviews I've seen for them reckon 10 is harder. :B

Yeah, I'd agree with you there - I found 9 to be more difficult than 10, especially when it came to final bosses of each. I'd have to say that 10 has harder robot masters, though. Blade Man is a nightmare. Of course, I've yet to play 9 on Hero/Superhero mode and 10 on Hard mode, so I guess we'll see how things go there, eh? xD;

True. xD Then again, Killix could also fill the role of Wolf Man. In either case, Huntress can be Hunter Man instead. :3 Cactus Man

I think I found 9 harder because it has a lot of evil tricks and traps all over the place, especially those swinging platforms on Jewelman's stage 8| I agree about the masters in 10 though - I wasn't expecting it to take me that many attempts to beat Sheepman. xD

I just beat 9 on Hero Mode today, and the way the enemies are repositioned makes Jewel Man's stage even harder. xD; Not only do you have to deal with the swinging platforms, but you've got those floating jewel enemies to contend with as well. Sheepman was definitely a bugger at first, but after you learn his pattern, he's pretty simple. :3 I always start with either him or Pump Man.

Well whadya know? This place is moving. Admittedly, for some reason, I tend to get lazy with finishing some of the games. I guess it's partly not wanting to go through a slew of levels over and over to get to the final boss, and partly not wanting the story to end just yet. Though if get the sequel for whichever I have I tend to try to finish one game before moving on to the next one. I've also been distracted by... other things. *doesn't want to go into a list or anything* As for the boss robot thing... I think I'll actually stick with MMX-style and Omnizoid Chimera. Ability... I'm thinking an up-close Energy Drain. Yanno ShadeMan from MM7, where he bites you? Something like that. MM9 vs. MM10... I think MM9 had level designs that were hard, yet in the same way, oddly fun. I do agree that MM10 seems to have harder Robot Masters; I tend to have some trouble even when making sure to hit them with their weakness. For MM9... Did anyone else find it ridiculous that there was a challenge to buy one of each item and yet you have to spend 200 screws just to have Roll change her dress? She didn't even have that big of a variety. Just the two dresses.

I learned to dodge Sheepman's cloud attack thing relatively quickly, but for some reason I was horrible at avoiding that little spark he shoots at you. xD I think the stage that took me the most amount of tries to beat was Commandoman's. :B Which reminds me, I haven't actually beat all the masters in 9 yet. ; Galaxyman was easy enough, and then it took me a ton of tries to get to Jewelman and even then I had trouble beating him when I finally did reach him because I didn't know how to use Galaxyman's weapon properly, and when I finally beat him I decided to go over to 10 because I just had to fight Sheepman. And then I forgot about 9. Whoops. In other news, I made up the stupidest most awesome robot master ever - I call him... POTPOURRI MANI was really bored and Microwaveman needed a buddy :cAs for the challenges thing, I keep forgetting about them, too. xD Although at one point I kept spamming Galaxyman's stage so I could get a load of screws and in one of the run-throughs I apparently did the whole stage without stopping once. Might have something to do with the fact that when I have to stop and wait for something I either jump about like a maniac for no reason or keep tapping left and right to the music.

I love making Mega Man dance to the music in Wily Stage 3 while he's slowly floating upwards in those floating gravity rooms. xD Does anyone find it odd that when Proto Man is seen with his helmet off, he supposedly wears sunglasses underneath the sunglasses on his helmet?

Does anyone find it odd that when Proto Man is seen with his helmet off, he supposedly wears sunglasses underneath the sunglasses on his helmet? ...Is that official art? Okay, I can picture putting some shades on after taking the helmet off, but wearing some underneath is just silly. You'd think it would impair his vision. Anyway, I didn't realize that the MegaMan Zero Collection has already been out for a month. I originally heard that it would be out in 'summer,' which usually means 'mid-to-late summer,' and technically, it wasn't even summer when it was released. (If I had known it was out, I would have written my birthday wish list sooner...) At any rate, I just bought it last night. It's been awhile since I've gotten so excited about something that I've felt queasy. Haven't opened it yet. I'm kind of caught between the urge to play, the desire to just admire it for a little longer, and the curiosity to see if I can calm down enough to eat first.

All I can say, really, is this: Be prepared for something totally different than what you'd expect from a Mega Man series. xD; The first MMZ game has its boring moments, namely with the level design, but it's otherwise a pretty fun game. I haven't finished MMZ2 yet, but it's definitely a big step forward from the first game. Both of them are also considerably harder than the X series - MMZ2 in particular is very unforgiving with its ranking system. That being said, you shouldn't be disappointed. :3

I have the second one (and apparently have for quite some time, although I wasn't aware of this), and I suck horribly at it. xD Although I'm used to the button layout being a button to jump, and then a button diagonally to the left of it to shoot, and of course the GBA didn't have this button layout, so I'm finding it awkward to get used to. :B To be honest I'm not sure I really like the Zero series. There's just something about the art style and some of the characters that just puts me off. And I'm weird in that a game/movie/book whatever can have the most amazing gameplay/plot/etc., but if I don't like any of the characters, chances are I won't enjoy it. D:

Since I've got the DS version instead of GBA, I set the 'X' button to be used for my sub-weapon, similar to the MMX games. Still finding myself using the 'L' button to dash, though. I admit that this is... different. Also, in my opinion, while most of the MegaMan series is designed so that a single game can be played without having to be familiar with the rest of the series, this seems like it probably makes more sense and would be more enjoyable if you were more familiar with the X series. I would probably be wondering what-in-their-world happened if I didn't know where/what in the X series this was connected to. I think I'll wait until I get farther into the series before I start judging it overall, though. Though one thing I have to still applaud Capcom on is plot details that I would never have expected. I'm actually thinking that part of the reason I like Japanese games so much is because they don't tread on as many English clichés and are generally less predictable. One of the things that I really didn't expect about the gameplay is how I don't regain lives after a game over. Found myself being extra cautious once I found that out. I'm also reluctant to, well, slay Cyber Elves for the sake of power ups, healing etc. I know it's just a game, and I know that's what they're made for, but... They're so cheery... and they thank you for feeding them... and... You know how poorly they hid the identity of the 'mysterious Cyber Elf' that helps Zero out? Well, they didn't even bother for the Collection. The manual outright says that he's the "Cyber Elf incarnation of the original X." Something that I found amusing. ^ That's also another reason why I'm reluctant to use Cyber Elves. Even if they're supposedly just data, it still doesn't feel right when one of their kind is an old friend and such. Going 'oh, it doesn't matter, they're just data' doesn't seem right because the same label would have to be applied to X. Fullmetal Alchemist fans may recall Edward being in a similar situation. *in an obviously sarcastic tone* Ciel reminds me of someone, but who could that someone be? Hmm... Let's see... She's a blonde, with blue eyes, wearing pink-and-black-with-some-white clothing, who's an expert on Reploids and data, and who keeps an eye on you during missions and gives you hints on what to do... Even her face shape seems familiar... </sarcasm> Okay, seriously, I know the game says she's a Human, but PFA and I are just waiting to see if she has some sort of connection with Alia. One thing that the manual mentions is a journalist that appears in Zero 4 who does stories on the fights between Reploids and Humans. This very fact makes me anticipate Zero 4. I so hope that meeting her leads to funny or somesuch. Don't disappoint me, Capcom. I haven't met him in the game yet, but I also think Dr. Wiel is/was supposed to actually be Dr. Wily. Another thing that I noticed about Ciel is that she says she created (or more likely helped create) Neo Arcadia, which the manual clearly states was made 100 years ago. Now one might argue that they have technology that lengthens a Human's lifespan, but wait! This Reploid fell in love with a Human, who started to grow old, so he asked Ciel to modify him so he could still live happily with his lover, who he says is long dead by that time! Also, I know it's possible that lifespan-technology might mostly be used by the rich and/or famous, but you'd think she'd still age, even if more slowly, and again the manual calls her a young girl.I know it's possible that it's just technology and such, but it still seems like it doesn't add up to me, or at least, is pretty unlikely. I don't know if Ciel's headset is, at least supposedly, supposed to be either for her work, or so Reploids would be more comfortable around her, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was actually there to try to hide what she really is. Haven't actually beat Zero 1 yet, but I'm right at the point before you head for Neo Arcadia. Thus, I have seen the cutscene from shortly before, and d'awww~ Zero wants to make Ciel happy~ It's also too bad that Zero doesn't have his memories. Else, I imagine Zero would possibly say something like this before the final boss: "You once told me... that if you ever became a Maverick, that you wanted me to be the one to terminate you. Now I'm going to fulfill that request!" Oh wow, talk about rambley... *flashbacks to certain PM-conversations* EDIT TO AVOID DOUBLE-POSTING: Finished Zero1 and started into Zero2. Beat one mission: The one with the snake-boss. I think the conversation(s) between Zero and Copy-X was/were pulled off pretty well here. Copy-X's speech had a definite similarity and reference to the X series, while still having enough difference that you know that the boss isn't the 'perfect copy' that he thinks he is. (On a side-note, the word 'perfect' quickly reminded me of certain prosecutors from the Phoenix Wright games. *cough*) Then there was when you defeat the first form (which I found I could do with like... five charged slashes) and Zero goes "Too weak." I was all 'XD Yeah, that sounds like something Zero would say.' One thing I found interesting is how it mentioned X pretty much losing the will to fight, which for months now is something that I've actually imagined might happen if he had to fight hard battles for a long time with no rest. Ditto with the wanting to rest bit. Also yay for seeing him take a form that looks like his old self! I also liked how, even though his memories are faint, Zero still feels a bond with X. Also, enemy bisection FTW. Liked the beginning level. (Well, the story-related parts, at least. Not so much the bosses and apparent lack of healing items.) There was just something I enjoyed about seeing the cloak, Zero's expression, and being able to see that he had definitely been fighting for a long time... And I wasn't expecting Harupia to come to help Zero out. Not sure why he did that. Currently I'm just guessing that either he felt it wouldn't be fun to take out Zero without a challenge. Or maybe he knew that something was about to happen and, oddly enough, he thought taking out Zero at that point would be detrimental to him. Maybe both, though the former seems to be the mostly likely to me. Disliked the new leader *checks his name* Elipzio from the start. Liked Zero's reaction to the offer to shake hands. X3 And now that I've beat that one boss, I think I have a pretty good idea of what's going on, and I just know that Elipzio is up to no good. On a side note, I wonder what exactly the Baby Elves can do, ability-wise. I also wonder who the father might be (hmm... ), though I know there's a fair chance that it's not important to the plot. And something I discovered while playing through that jungle level: Using the Chain Rod is incredibly fun, especially when it involves pulling enemies onto spike-traps.

Neato! I'll have to show that to my friend who said that MegaMan 'wasn't meant for 3D.' Still mostly playing MMZero at this time. I was just thinking... I can see Harupia was the one picked to be the next leader. Out of the remaining Elemental Guardians, he's the only one who keeps his feet on the ground and his head out of the clouds.
...Which I realize is a very bad joke, considering his element. XD; Just finished MMZ2 and started into MMZ3, and now things are really starting to get interesting! I'm not too surprised that the Dark Elf recognized Zero, considering that I think she's made of the same energy that was used for the Maverick Virus. And it seems we finally meet Weil face-to-face. The encounter wasn't disappointing, and neither were the little dialogue bits before that encounter. Seems Weil knows about what Zero has done, as he told him 'I'd like to see how far you get in that body.' Naturally, Zero didn't know what he was talking about. X3 Can hardly wait to see what happens next.
