When you say desktop, do you mean the literal desktop on your computer, or the folder Desktop under Files? If it's the former, I'd suggest skimming through Files, maybe under Computer, to find it. And it might not display as Phone, but perhaps just Removable Disk. If not, another option may be to take the SIM card and put it into a flash drive that has an insertion slot. Literal desktop. The main screen with my background image and all my shortcut icons. Removable storage devices (application installers, flash drives, iPods and probably iPhones as well) always appear as little external HD icons in the top right. My phone is not appearing there. Like I said, I think it's a matter of my Android not being compatible with a Macbook. I'm not sure if this is worth buying one of those flash drives over >_> Also I don't know where my SIM card is in my phone and I don't feel like tearing it apart.

JaeYou could also put those photos in an email, and then email to yourself.

Jae- Hmm, I'm not surprised, seeing as Android devices differ from one model to another (my smartphone is from a lesser known company unlike Samsung). And the SIM card is usually located behind the battery. Check your charging options on your phone, there may be something there.

Okay old person question: how do I get pictures from my phone to my computer? I'm using android on a second gen moto g, so there are probably other options, but I honestly just email photos to myself ninety percent of the time. xD And the other ten percent is just chucking them on photobucket.

I knew it seemed a little weird that my laptop didn't register my phone at all. The Android File Transfer thing seems like something to look into for next time, thanks for bringing that article to my attention! I saw a few sites mentioning an Android-to-Mac program on my Google search but they all had run the download links through URL shorteners and I'm not in the habit of downloading anything that comes from a bit.ly or similar >.> (paranoid, maybe, but I've been using computers for almost 20 years and never had a virus or malware) But I'm fairly willing to trust the official websites of Verizon and Android so I'll definitely be getting that program! Thanks so much!

In terms of commissions, how do you know what fandoms you can and cannot monetize from? I know larger fandoms like Pokemon and Steven Universe have people selling self made products all the time with no problem, but I feel that something like Neopets wouldn't let that get by. Is it just in terms of size, or does the original source material or companies say themselves what fans can do? Or does it matter at all and anything is fair game as long as you give credit where it's due?
(also, any general commission advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm basically "how does one art" right now XP)

(also, any general commission advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm basically "how does one art" right now XP) I've not actually done commissions, so I wouldn't take my advice as final. But based on what I've observed, if I had to guess... Pretty much anything except Neopets seems to be fair gain if you're talking about small scale stuff like you'd be doing. Technically, only a copyright holder is allowed to profit off their copyright. But some copyright holders are... less picky than others, and won't go after you if you have a small side thing going on. In some ways it's an advantage to them, it's free advertising for their product, and building a fanbase ensure that their product will continue to profitable. Neopets, however, is a very picky copyright holder. I'm really going into speculation here, but I suppose legally, you can try and sell Neopet Commissions just as much as Pokemon ones. The trick is, Neopets.com has leverage against you in the form of your user account. If you break their terms and conditions, you lose your account. Most people who would draw Neopets value their accounts too much to risk it over commissions. Because of problems with scammers and concerns about account safety, Neopets really is very particular not allowing real money and Neopets the website cross over expect for NC, and that has its own set of special rules. So yeah, if I had to guess, that's the reason why you don't see Neopets Commissions, because people are exact good about following Neopets' rules.

(also, any general commission advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm basically "how does one art" right now XP) It would largely depend on the fandom, and generally, you'd have to check what the owner/company says about it per each fandom. Some are okay with it, some aren't. For the latter, it's that while they may not necessarily mind you making fanart to post wherever or to give out for free, they're not okay with you profiting off of it because they consider it their intellectual property; doesn't matter if you give credit or not. Different creators will say different things. And some are way more picky than others. Check into each one first so that you don't get a C&D or sued or something.

(also, any general commission advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm basically "how does one art" right now XP) I'd echo what's been said in that it largely depends on the size and "policing" of that particular franchise, if you will. I'll hold that honestly no commission fanwork seems exactly 'right', although granted, I have done a few fan-commissions before, so my hands aren't clean in that respect. But it is true that some franchises (especially those from Japan) view fanwork positively, as being free advertising. I don't think I would attempt it with Neopets, though, because having your account linked to your art would just put it in danger of being iced- even though I still see people take Neopets-specific commissions all the time. :/ Honestly, I would probably just advertise as "going on commission" and if a commissioner asks you to draw something from a certain franchise, you decide then and there, before its a finalized job, whether or not you'll do it. And if the whole commission process is kept mostly between the two of you (you could even opt out of posting it anywhere), there shouldn't be any problems.

Recently I applied to a freelance writing job on UpWork--I've gotten work from there before, but this one company reached out to me, not even saying what company they were from, and I asked for details. No details, I was given an email, and I asked via email about details and if payment would be verified with UpWork (the only way one should be paid on that site). I was picked up on the spot, given a figure immediately for listing work on Craigslist, and THE MANAGER AVOIDED THE QUESTION AND SAID I WOULD BE PAID VIA PAYPAL OR MY BANK. I don't think I'll be taking this job.
TL;DR what are the warning signs one should watch out for when it comes to looking for work?
I know I probably got a bunch of them with this odd encounter, I just want to know more of them to be further on my guard in the future.

So....cooking.
I usually use green peppers for everything cause they're mild and cheap but I put red ones into a soup and WOW.
What colors do you use for cooking? Does it depend on what you're making? Do orange and yellow differ in flavor too?
Peppers, yo.

I assume you're talking bell peppers, right?
They're kind of like black vs. green olives--it's the same plant harvested at different times, so they all taste slightly different. They're all very mild as peppers go, plus the different colors just make anything look delicious so I always like to use more than one kind when I can.
Try 'em in omelettes!
